Polysaccharide colloids and gels supplemented with bioactive compounds are very common in the food industry,although hydrophobic substances can significantly affect the structure and physicochemical properties of *** the present study,the impact of natural surfactants,saponins,on agar hydrogels containing vitamins A and E was *** study started with the research of droplet size distribution of vitamin-loaded aqueous emulsions,stabilized by saponins.A composition containing vitamins at a concentration of 2 mg mL^(-1) and Sapindus mukorossi saponins at a concentration of 0.1 mg mL^(-1) was used for further *** second stage of our studies includes the introduction of the emulsion into a hydrogel matrix based on *** vitamin-containing hydrogel systems obtained were studied to verify how the vitamin,saponin,and agar concentration affect the mechanical and swelling properties of the materials,as well as their color and *** important aspect was to indicate how the presence of vitamins affects the activity of water molecules measured by low-field *** collected results indicated that,as a result of the use of saponins,stable emulsions that can be incorporated into hydrogels can be obtained while the size and properties of the droplets are maintained without changing their physicochemical properties.

Pentadecapeptide BPC 157 and the central nervous system

We reviewed the pleiotropic beneficial effects of the stable gastric pentadecapeptide BPC 157,three very recent demonstrations that may be essential in the gut-brain and braingut axis operation,and therapy application in the central nervous system disorders,in ***,given in the reperfusion,BPC 157 counteracted bilateral clamping of the common carotid arteries-induced stroke,sustained brain neuronal damages were resolved in rats as well as disturbed memory,locomotion,and *** therapy effect supports particular gene expression in hippocampal tissues that appeared in BPC 157-treated ***,there are L-NG-nitro arginine methyl ester(L-NAME)-and haloperidol-induced catalepsy as well as the rat acute and chronic models of 'positivelike' schizophrenia symptoms,that BPC 157 counteracted,and resolved the complex relationship of the nitric oxide-system with amphetamine and apomorphine(dopamine agents application),MK-801(non-competitive antagonist of the N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor) and chronic methamphetamine administration(to induce sensitivity).Thirdly,after rat spinal cord compression,there were advanced healing and functional recovery(counteracted tail paralysis).Likewise,in BPC 157 therapy,there is specific support for each of these topics:counteracted encephalopathies;alleviated vascular occlusion disturbances(stroke);counteracted dopamine disturbances(dopamine receptors blockade,receptors super sensitivity development,or receptor activation,over-release,nigrostriatal damage,vesicles depletion),and nitric oxide-system disturbances("L-NAME non-responsive,L-arginine responsive," and "L-NAME responsive,L-arginine responsive")(schizophrenia therapy);inflammation reduction,nerve recovery in addition to alleviated hemostasis and vessels function after compression(spinal cord injury therapy).Thus,these disturbances may be all resolved within the same agent's beneficial activity,i.e.,the stable gastric pentadecapeptide BPC 157.

Cholelithiasis-induced cholestasis is one of the most common causes of hospitalization due to gastrointestinal disease,yet considerable knowledge gaps exist in the pathogenesis of this *** can partially be explained by inadequate characterization of experimental cholestasis ***,we compared the transcriptional profile of commonly used mouse models for obstructive cholestasis and benchmarked them to human disease to identify the model(s)best suited for cholelithiasis-induced cholestasis research and to uncover conserved mechanisms involved in human and murine cholestasis.

A Novel Engineering Spherical Bearing, with Potential Application for a Hip Implant

It is a research which could enter into contradiction with the current trend concerning the hip implants. It is known as sliding friction, which is characteristic of present artificial hip joints, is higher than in the case of rolling friction. The paper reports the studies of the functioning mode of a novel spherical bearing MoM （metal on metal） with rolling friction, with potential application for an artificial hip joint obtained by introducing a number of balls between the femoral head and the acetabular cup. After over 15 years of research upon the functional principle and constructive solution, a version that offered a coefficient of minimum friction in the hip joint came to light. This version was based on a constructive solution of motion with lower friction, ＂Omnitrack~ movement solutions＂, which has been modified and rebuilt to be used as a joint of a total hip prosthesis--MOMJ. The joint was built entirely in stainless steel, SS316L medical grade. Tests have been carried out on the experimental laboratory devices that showed very low values of the coefficient of friction （μ = 0.0225）. For validation, the prosthesis had to be put through tests for 500,000 cycles, in terms of physiological motion and dynamic loading, according to ISO 14242-3. Testing was conducted on a multiaxial dynamics machine, MTS Bionix, equipped with system for hip implant testing. The testing results of this total hip prosthesis with rolling friction have been successful in signing up for a friction moment of 0.525 kNmm which means a coefficient of friction la = 0.0143, for a joint with femoral head diameter 28 mm.

This paper presents the analysis of Earth Observation data records collected between 1975 and 2014 for assessing the extent and temporal evolution of the built-up surface in the frame of the Global Human Settlement Layer *** scale of the information produced by the study enables the assessment of the whole continuum of human settlements from rural hamlets to *** study applies enhanced processing methods as compared to the first production of the GHSL baseline *** major improvements include the use of a more refined learning set on built-up areas derived from Sentinel-1 data which allowed testing the added-value of incremental learning in big data ***,the new features of the GHSL built-up grids and the methods are described and compared with the previous ones using a reference set of building footprints for 277 areas of *** results show a gradual improvement in the accuracy measures with a gain of 3.6% in the balanced accuracy,between the first production of the GHSL baseline and the latest GHSL multitemporal built-up grids.A validation of the multitemporal component is also conducted at the global scale establishing the reliability of the built-up layer across time.

The Quantification and Reporting of Negawatt-Hours with Flexible Energy Conservation Measure Verification Software (ECM-Tool)

In order to promote digital innovations in the field of energy use and monitoring in all end customer sectors, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) has launched the “Pilotprogramm Einsparzähler” in 2016. The program promotes the development of digital platforms following the “Efficiency First” principle, focusing not on individual projects but on the establishment of a business model. smartB successfully applied for subsidies for the development of a software tool, the architecture of which is the content of this open source paper. The tool applies a multivariate regression-model to model a given system’s energy consumption (significant energy uses or SEUs), adjusted to relevant external factors (e.g. weather) and given output levels or product properties. Thereby comparing energy consumption before and after an energy conservation measure (ECM), the tool allows for a quantification and verification of achieved energy savings as laid out in international standards for energy management (ISO, 2014). Achieved energy savings induced by an ECM and energy efficiency improvements cannot be measured directly. We use the term “negawatt-hour”, defined as a unit of energy saved as a direct result of energy conservation measures. International norms provide accepted standards to derive quantified savings in negawatt-hours from a qualified comparison between consumption before and after an ECM, as presented at the beginning of the paper.
