AD = 1 position-dependent mass approach to constructing nonlinear quantum states for a modified Coulomb potential is used to generate Gazeau–Klauder coherent states. It appears that their energy eigenvalues are scaled down by the quantum number and the nonlinearity coefficient. We study the basic properties of these states, which are found to be undefined on the whole complex plane, and some details of their revival structure are discussed.

Studying quantum properties of a system has been quite popular in quantum mechanics. One of the most important systems that are very crucial to the framework of quantum mechanics is the system of harmonic oscillator a system whose classical evolution is known to exhibit peculiar chaotic dynamics. We are motivated to investigate the behavior of quantum properties for a system with position and time dependent perturbed. Starting with Hamiltonian, we determined the equation of motion and obtained the wave function. The energy of the whole system using the operator ordering method was found. We show that the quantum mechanical picture alludes to a chaotic dynamics as expected. This is evidenced through the appearance of energy level crossings. An additional signature to this chaotic dynamics is observed in the transition of Eigen values from real to imaginary. We also show numerically that one can give the behavior of the system is Poincare section. By so doing we confirmed that increasing and decreasing the perturbation amplitude of the system becomes chaotic.

Comparative analysis of interdecadal precipitation variability over central North China and sub Saharan Africa

The interdecadal variability of precipitation over sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) and central North China (CNC) is examined and compared in this study. Previous studies have found that the two regions have similar interdecadal dry–wet evolution in the past 100 years. The results show obvious decadal precipitation fluctuations in the two regions. In CNC, a persistent negative precipitation anomaly is detected from the early 1970s to the 2000s. In SSA, a negative precipitation anomaly is apparent since the late 1970s, while a distinct upward trend is found since the 1990s although the precipitation anomaly is still negative. Significant correlation is found between the decadal precipitation anomalies in SSA and the SST modes (Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation (AMO) and Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO)), as well as the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO), while in CNC the decadal precipitation is influenced by the NAO and PDO. The EOF results show that the total explained variance of the first four EOFs in SSA is smaller than that of CNC. The fourth and third modes in SSA are significantly associated with the AMO and PDO respectively, while the first, third, and fourth modes are significantly associated with the NAO. The first mode in CNC is significantly associated with the NAO. The first mode of the precipitation anomaly in SSA fluctuates out of phase with that in CNC, while in-phase changes are apparent among the third and the fourth modes.

This study compares the trends and frequencies of drought between central North China(CNC) and(SSA) for the periods 1901–2010 and 1951–2010. The Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index(SPEI) and Self-Calibrating Palmer Drought Severity Index(sc-PDSI) are used to assess the drought trends and frequencies. In general, the results exhibit downward trends of drought index values and upward trends of drought frequencies over CNC and SSA. A high rate of the trends' slopes for the drought index and a low rate of the frequencies' slopes is found over CNC with respect to SPEI and sc-PDSI. Furthermore, some abrupt changes are revealed after applying the sequential Mann–Kendall test to detect change points. These findings offer insight into the trends and frequencies of drought over the regions studied. Further analysis needs to be undertaken to understand the mechanisms underlying the occurrence of drought in these areas.

Objective:To evaluate anti-dyslipidemic,antioxidant and anti-atherosclerogenic properties of this extract in diet-induced hypercholesterolemic rat.a model of metabolic syndrome-induced atherosclerosis and associated cardiovascular ***:Normocholeslerolemic(NC) male rats were divided into six groups(n=10) and fed a high-cholesterol(HC) diet for 30 days(5 groups),or normal rat chow(normal control group).Rats given a HC diet also received distilled water(disease control),the potent hypocholcsterolcmic agent with antiatherosclerotic activity atorvastatin(2 mg/kg,positive control),or one of the three doses of Zanthoxylum heitzii stem bark aqueous extract tested(225,300 and 375 mg/kg) concomitantly for four *** of general toxicity,body temperature and weight,and water and food intake were monitored in live *** sacrifice,lipid profiles and oxidative stress markers were assessed in the blood and liver,aorta,and feces,and histopathological analysis of aorta was ***:Plant extract prevented the elevation of aortic total cholesterol and triglycerides,and hepatic low density lipoprotein,very low density lipoprotein,and total *** peroxidation(TBARS) was decreased and aortic atherosclerotic plaque formation ***:These observations strongly suggest that stem bark aqueous extract of Zanthoxylum heitzii has anti-atherosclerogenic properties,at least partly mediated by antioxidant and hypolipidemic effects.

Diuretic and antioxidant activities of the aqueous extract of leaves of Cassia occidentalis(Linn.) in rats

Objective: To assess the putative diuretic and antioxidant properties of Cassia occidentalis(C. occidentalis) leaves' aqueous extract. Methods: Adult rats were administered with C. occidentalis leaves aqueous extract acutely(24-h) and subchronically(7 d), at doses 80, 160, 240, 320, and 400 mg/kg(per os). Negative control group received only an equivalent volume of distilled water, while the two positive control groups received the diuretic drugs furosemide(20 mg/kg, i.p.) and hydrochlorothiazide(HCTZ, 20 mg/kg, i.p.). Urinary elimination of electrolytes in response to treatments was evaluated, together with changes in concentrations of creatinine, urea, aldosterone, glucose, and albumin in urine and plasma. Various urinary indicators of kidney function and plasmatic markers of oxidative stress were also assessed. Results: The acute administration of C. occidentalis increased the urinary excretion of 107.58% at the higher dose tested, compared to negative control. The reference drugs furosemide and HCTZ induced increases of 84.27 % and 48.05 %, respectively. Acutely, the extract induced Na+ and Cl- elimination, whereas subchronically an increase in K+ elimination was also observed. The extract also improved the kidney function indexes and oxidative stress markers. These effects were dose-dependent and comparable with positive control observations. Conclusions: Our i ndings strongly suggest that C. occidentalis aqueous extract has diuretic and antioxidant activities, and deserves further studies considering the potential for the treatment of hypertension.

Performance evaluation of computed tomography is not significant in the Republic of Cameroon in general and more particularly in the city of Yaoundé. Therefore, this work aimed to analyze image performances of 05 CT scanners in 05 medical facilities in the city of Yaoundé, by using the Catphan 700 phantom and test procedures of the Atomic Energy Agency. Five quality control tests were performed on each CT-Scanner. All the CT scanners evaluated showed good results and were not disapproved in three of the five tests performed. The difference between the measured spatial resolution for each of the five CT scanners and the spatial resolution specified by the manufacturer was very high. The low contrast resolution of four of the five CT scanners was found low when compared to the low contrast resolution specified by the manufacturers.

Geospatial Information System is one of the key technologies for the establishment of Digital Earth. Especially with the development of digital Photogrammetry and the high resolution commercial remote sensing image technologies, a number of users all over the world have put them into use in variety of fields and have pave a wide market for the geospatial applications in future.The purpose of this thesis is to find out a simple, easy and robust solution to the existing technologies for obtaining GIS measurements from images. Due to enormous increase in the utilization of the technologies such as Global Positioning Systems, (GPS for short) and Geographic Information Systems, (GIS for short) then there is a vast need to find a cheaper and affordable methodology to obtain measurements of different scenes. This is due to the high cost of infrastructure and technologies involved.This thesis outlines a description of obtaining those scene measurements from images in an easy way. The points are extracted and used as the basis for comparison between ground points and image points. The thesis also describes how to utilize camera calibration and Photogrammetry techniques to obtain the required measurements.The first step involved in the process is to calibrate the camera to get the required matrices. The second step is to use Photogrammetry techniques on same image without losing the generality of the system settings. The third step is combining the camera calibration and Photogrammetry techniques to produce a model which I have put forward in this thesis and its analysis in terms of its level of accuracy compared to the other previous researchers.
