A novel approach towards parametric assessment of reliability and resilience of high voltage mica-based insulation systems by statistical analysis of experimental failure data

Insulation systems in high-voltage electric machines play a pivotal role in the reliable operation and longevity of the ***-based insulation materials have proven to possess and maintain excellent dielectric properties in the long run and prevent premature insulation *** qualifications tests,such as voltage endurance,are outlined in IEC and IEEE *** authors,however,take a different parametric approach,opting for reliability assessment of insulation systems using derived three-parameter Weibull ***,instead of simple pass–fail criteria,empirical data is employed to determine failure rate probabilities quantitatively and *** data,including breakdown,dissipation factor,and partial discharge mea-surements,are used to construct the Weibull distribution model to predict fault and failure rates and calculate hazard *** rigorous examinations interpreted through the analytical model help assess insulation system resilience and particularly the impact of electrical field stress and mica *** of electrical stress from 66.75 to 71.20 V/mil demonstrated how the mean time to failure of the system changed from 146.4 to 85.1 at 3 Un,hence identifying opportunities for design improvement and uncovering performance ***,the developed framework enhances comprehension of insulation system failure probabilities,guiding design decisions and ensuring a secure and reliable operation of electrical machines across applications.

Intelligent food packaging with the multisensory analysis is promising as the next generation technology of food *** oxygen content in food packaging is one of the crucial parameters affecting the food quality and shelf *** is among the most nutritious and costly food ***,a photonic oxygen-sensing system,based on the time-resolved phosphorescence spectroscopy of a platinum complex,is developed for non-contact,non-intrusive,and real-time vacuum packaging quality control,and implemented for caviar *** sensor is embedded in protective polyethylene layers and excited with a short-pulsed light emitting diode(LED)*** of a blue pulsed light source,a fast and amplified silicon photodiode controlled by the Spartan-6 field programmable gate array(FPGA),and a long lifetime platinum complex results in a photonics-based oxygen sensor with a fast response and high sensitivity to the vacum packaging damage,which is suitable for *** is revealed that applying the polyethylene layers protects the caviar from the platinum complex,leaching while not interfering with the sensor *** the photonic system based on its sensitivity,repeatability,stability,and long-term operation demonstrates its capability for this application.

Assessment of the Influence of Oil Palm and Rubber Plantations in Tropical Peat Swamp Soils Using Microbial Diversity and Activity Analysis

In this study, tropical peat swamp soils from Giam Siak Kecil-Bukit Batu Biosphere Reserve (GSKBB) in Indonesia was evaluated to assess the impact of oil palm and rubber plantations on this unique organic soil through comparisons with soils from a natural forest using a polyphasic approach (chemical and molecular microbial assays). Changes in the ammonium, nitrate and phosphate concentration were observed in soils converted to agricultural use. Soil enzyme activities in plantation soils showed reduced β-glucosidase, cellobiohydrolase and acid phosphatase activities (50% - 55% decrease). PCR-DGGE based analysis showed that the soil bacterial community from agricultural soils exhibited the lowest similarity amongst the different microbial groups (fungi and Archaea) evaluated (34% similarity to the natural forest soil). Shannon Diversity index values showed that generally the conversion of tropical peatland natural forest to rubber plantation resulted in a greater impact on microbial diversity (ANOVA p < 0.05). Overall, this study indicated substantial shifts in the soil microbial activity and diversity upon conversion of natural peatland forest to agriculture, with a greater change being observed under rubber plantation compared to oil palm plantation. These findings provided important data for future peatland management by relating changes in the soil microbial community and activities associated to agricultural practices carried out on peatland.

Objective:To determine the temporal trend and epidemiology of animal bite cases in Gerash City,***:This retrospective cross-sectional study analyzed 630 cases of people with animal bites between 2011 and 2021 in Gerash *** collected data were analyzed using Chi-square ***:The mean age of victims was(30.9±17.5)years.80.54%Of victims were male,39.70%were self-employed,and 64.60%were adults(≥18 years).Most cases of bites occurred in 2019(91 cases),2020(74 cases)and 2021(87 cases),and most of the bites were related to the upper limbs(62.70%).Most of the wounds were superficial(78%),most of the biting animals were domestic animals(91.74%),and most of the victims had Iranian nationality(97.62%).Conclusions:Given the increasing trend of animal bites in Gerash City,health authorities should carry out basic measures such as education and awareness among the public,especially at-risk groups such as adult ***,since most cases of bites are due to dogs,it seems necessary to plan for vaccination of dogs,especially those with owners.

Development of a new correlation to calculate permeability for flows with high Knudsen number

Flows with high Knudsen number play a prominent role in many engineering applications. The present study is an effort toward the simulation of flow with high Knudsen number using modified lattice Boltzmann method （LBM） through a porous medium in a channel. The effect of collision between molecules and solid walls, which is required to accurately simulate transition flow regime, is taken into account using a modified relaxation time. Slip velocity on the wall, which is another significant difficulty in simulating transition flow regime, is captured using the slip reflection boundary condition （SRBC）. The geometry of porous medium is considered as in-line and staggered. The results are in good agreement with previous works. A new correlation is obtained between permeability, Knudsen number and porosity for flows in transition flow regimes.
