Wild Nutrition’s Food-Grown® Magnesium supplementation Increases sleep Quality and sleep Duration and Reduces stress in a Healthy Adult Population: A Double-Blind, Randomised, Placebo-Controlled study

Background: Magnesium, an essential mineral crucial for various bodily functions, has been shown to positively influence sleep patterns. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of Food-Grown® magnesium in enhancing sleep quality and duration, as well as overall well-being. Methods: Eighty participants were randomly assigned to receive either 80 mg of Food-Grown® magnesium or a placebo (microcrystalline cellulose) daily for 8 weeks. Participants completed questionnaires assessing sleep quality, daytime drowsiness, quality of life, anxiety, and stress levels. Additionally, participants maintained daily sleep diaries and wore wrist-worn actigraphy devices. The primary outcome measured was the change in sleep quality and duration. Results: seventy-one participants fulfilled all study requirements (35 in the active group and 36 in the placebo group). Magnesium supplementation significantly improved reported sleep quality, with the active group showing a 32% increase compared to 16% in the placebo group (p = 0.034). Moreover, magnesium supplementation led to a decrease in reported stress scores at week 8 compared to the placebo group (3.7 ± 2.6 vs. 5.5 ± 3.1, respectively). Both the magnesium and placebo groups exhibited significant increases in reported sleep duration and reductions in time to fall asleep, sleep disturbance, sleep latency, sleep medication usage, and total Pittsburgh sleep Quality Index score at week 8 compared to baseline. Conclusion: Magnesium supplementation notably enhanced sleep quality and reduced stress levels compared to the placebo group. These findings highlight the potential of magnesium as a beneficial supplement for improving sleep quality and overall well-being.

Background:One of the pathological hallmarks distinguishing Alzheimer’s disease from other dementias is the accumulation of amyloid beta(Aβ).Higher physical activity is associated with decreased dementia risk,and one potential path could be through Aβlevels *** aimed to explore the relationship between physical activity and Aβin middle-aged and older ***:A systematic search of PubMed,Web of science,PsycINFO,Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials,and sPORTDiscus was performed from inception to April 28,*** were eligible if they included physical activity and Aβdata in adults aged 45 years or ***-level metaanalyses of intervention and observational studies were performed to examine the role of physical activity in modulating Aβ***:In total,37 articles were included(8 randomized controlled trials,3 non-randomized controlled trials,4 prospective longitudinal studies,and 22 cross-sectional studies).The overall effect size of physical activity interventions on changes in blood Aβwas medium(pooled standardized mean difference=-0.69,95%confidence interval(95%CI):-1.41 to 0.03;I^(2)=74.6%).However,these results were not statistically significant,and there were not enough studies to explore the effects of physical activity on cerebrospinal fluid(CsF)and brain Aβ.Data from observational studies were examined based on measurements of Aβin the brain using positron emission tomography scans,CsF,and *** physical activity was positively associated with Aβonly in the CsF(Estimate r=0.12;95%CI:0.05-0.18;I^(2)=38.00%).Conclusion:Physical activity might moderately reduce blood Aβin middle-aged and older ***,results were only near statistical significance and might be interpreted with caution given the methodological limitations observed in some of the included *** observational studies,higher levels of physical activity were positively associated with Aβonly in ***,further research is needed t

本文利用随机引物扩增多态性 DNA( RAPD)技术分析了 7个生物学性状差异较大核盘菌( sclerotinia sclerotiorum)的遗传多样性 ,并同三叶草核盘菌 ( ***)、小核盘菌 ( ***)的代表性菌株和莴苣上的一种产菌核病原菌的代表菌株 L et- 19进行了比较。结果表明 4 0个引物中 8个引物能稳定地从供试菌株中扩增出多态性 DNA片段。通过分析这些多态性片段可以看出 7个供试核盘菌菌株之间的遗传相似系数变化幅度为 0 .50 52～ 0 .7931,而核盘菌、三叶草核盘菌 ,小核盘菌和 L et- 19之间的遗传相似系数的变幅则为 0 .194 2～ 0 .3853。莴苣上的菌株 Let- 19的 RAPD图谱同供试其它种的菌株既存在明显差异的 DNA片段电泳带 ,又显示出一些位置一致的 DNA片段电泳带。因而 Let- 19同核盘菌属真菌的亲缘关系较近。供试的引物中 OPL14既能介导从供试的 7个核盘菌菌株和 3个近缘种的 3个菌株的 DNA样品中扩增出相同的 DNA片段 ,又能扩增出种或菌株特异性 DNA片段。因而 RAPD技术适于研究核盘菌的遗传多样性及分析核盘菌属真菌的亲缘关系。

目的儿童急性肺损伤(ALI)目前尚缺乏明确定义。本项前瞻性研究旨在阐明澳大利亚和新西兰ALI患儿的发病率、人群分布、治疗方案、预后和病死率预测因素。设计为期12个月的多中心前瞻性研究。地点依据欧美共同大会制定的指南,对所有收入ICU并需机械通气的儿童进行筛查,观察是否发生ALI。确认后随访28d或直至患儿死亡或出院。主要结果研究期间ALI患儿共117例,16岁以下人群发病率为2.95/10万。ALI占PICU入院人数的2.2 %,病死率35 %,占研究期间所有PICU死亡病例的30 %。显著影响病死率的入院前风险因素为慢性病、年长儿和免疫抑制患儿。住院期间病死率预测因素为呼吸机参数(PIP,MAP,PEEP)和第1日肺部疾病严重程度(PaO2/Fi O2比值和氧合指数OI)。较高的最大潮气量和中位数潮气量与降低病死率相关,在对肺部疾病严重程度进行校正后结果不变。发生单个或多个器官功能衰竭与病死率显著相关。结论 ALI在儿童虽不常见但病死率高。影响病死率的风险因素容易判别。呼吸机参数和肺部疾病严重程度与病死率显著相关。

sustainable Management of Algae in Eutrophic Ecosystems

The accelerated eutrophication of the world’s freshwater and marine ecosystems is a complex problem that results in decreased productivity, loss of biodiversity, and various economic woes. Controlling algae populations in a eutrophic water body has values in mitigating some of these negative effects. This paper reviews a number of strategies for algae management, with a focus on sustainable practices that have minimal environmental impact. The information in the literature is then used to propose a design for an integrated algae-aquaculture system to be used for the dual purposes of nutrient assimilation and production of fish and algal biomass. Effectiveness of the proposed system and possible revenue streams to offset capital costs are examined;other solutions that utilize the techniques in the literature are also explored.

＜正＞ A salient characteristic of English spoken by native Japanese is th tendency to produce intrusive vowels between consonants or following word-final consonants （e.g., English "stress" as /***/）. This study conducted speech analysis of a large set of Japanese-accented English utterances to evaluate the effects of various factors on vowel epenthesis. Results reveal effects of speaking rate and phonetic environment, but little effect of word familiarity and frequency.

Articular cartilage has a limited capacity to self-heal once ***-specific stem cells are a solution for cartilage regeneration;however,ex vivo expansion resulting in cell senescence remains a challenge as a large quantity of high-quality tissue-specific stem cells are needed for cartilage *** previous report demonstrated that decellularized extracellular matrix(dECM)deposited by human synovium-derived stem cells(sDsCs),adipose-derived stem cells(ADsCs),urine-derived stem cells(UDsCs),or dermal fibroblasts(DFs)provided an ex vivo solution to rejuvenate human sDsCs in proliferation and chondrogenic potential,particularly for dECM deposited by *** make the cell-derived dECM(C-dECM)approach applicable clinically,in this study,we evaluated ex vivo rejuvenation of rabbit infrapatellar fat pad-derived stem cells(IPFsCs),an easily accessible alternative for sDsCs,by the abovementioned C-dECMs,in vivo application for functional cartilage repair in a rabbit osteochondral defect model,and potential cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying this *** found that C-dECM rejuvenation promoted rabbit IPFsCs’cartilage engineering and functional regeneration in both ex vivo and in vivo models,particularly for the dECM deposited by UDsCs,which was further confirmed by proteomics ***-seq analysis indicated that both mesenchymal-epithelial transition(MET)and inflammation-mediated macrophage activation and polarization are potentially involved in the C-dECM-mediated promotion of IPFsCs’chondrogenic capacity,which needs further investigation.
