The effect of ethylen. diamin. tetraacetic acid(EDTA) modification.on.the physico-chemical properties an. catalytic performan.e of silica n.n.sprin.s(n.) supported cobalt(Co) catalyst was in.estigated in.the con.ersion.of syn.as(H^(2+) CO) to hydrocarbon. by Fischer-Tropsch syn.hesis(FTS). The un.odified Co/n. an. modified Co/n.-EDTA catalysts were syn.hesized via an.impregn.tion.method. The prepared Co/n. an. Co/n.-EDTA catalysts were characterized before the FTS reaction.by BET surface area,X-ray diffraction.XRD),tran.mission.electron.microscopy(TEM),temperature programmed reduction.TPR),X-ray photoelectron.spectroscopy(XPS),differen.ial thermal an.lysis(DTA) an. thermogravimetric an.lysis(TGA) in.order to fin. correlation. between.physico-chemical properties of catalysts an. catalytic performan.e. FTS was carried out in.a quartz fixedbed microreactor(H_2/CO of 2 ∶1,230 ℃ an. atmospheric pressure) an. the products trapped an. an.lyzed by GC-TCD an. GC-MS to determin. CO con.ersion.an. reaction.selectivity. The experimen.al results in.icated that the modified Co/n.-EDTA catalyst displayed a more-dispersed phase of Co_3O_4 n.n.particles(10.9%) an. the Co_3O_4 average crystallite size was about 12.4 n.. The EDTA modified catalyst showed relatively higher CO con.ersion.70.3%) an. selectivity toward C_(6-18)(JP-8,Jet A an. diesel) than.the Co/n. catalyst(C_(6-14))(JP-4).
