We present a method to fabricate handcrafted thermoelectric devices on standard office paper *** devices are based on thin films of WS_(2),Te,and BP(P-type semiconductors)and TiS_(3)and TiS_(2)(N-type semiconductors),deposited by simply rubbing powder of these materials against *** thermoelectric properties of these semiconducting films revealed maximum Seebeck coefficients of(+1.32±0.27)mV K^(-1)and(-0.82±0.15)mV K^(-1)for WS_(2)and TiS_(3),***,Peltier elements were fabricated by interconnecting the P-and N-type films with graphite electrodes.A thermopower value up to 6.11 mV K^(-1)was obtained when the Peltier element were constructed with three *** findings of this work show proof-of-concept devices to illustrate the potential application of semiconducting van der Waals materials in future thermoelectric power generation as well as temperature sensing for low-cost disposable electronic devices.

Influence of Clad metal Chemistry on Stress Corrosion Cracking Behaviour of Stainless Steels Claddings in Chloride Solution

The effect of clad metal composition on stress corrosion cracking (SCC) behavior of three types of SmAW filler metals (E308L-16, E309-16 and E316L-16), used for cladding components subjected to highly corrosive conditions, was investigated in boiling 43% mgCl2 solution. In order to evaluate the stress corrosion cracking susceptibility of the top layer, constant load tests and metallographic examinations in tested SCC specimens were conducted. The susceptibility to stress corrosion cracking was evaluated in terms of the time-to-fracture. Results showed that the E309-16 clad metal presented the best SCC resistance. This may be attributed to the presence of a discontinuous delta-ferrite network in the austenitic matrix, which acted as a barrier to cracks propagation. Concerning to E308-16 and E316L-16 clad metals, results showed that these presented a similar SCC test performance. Their higher SCC susceptibility may be attributed to the presence of continuous vermicular delta-ferrite in their microstructure.

AIm: To validate a multimodal [structural and functional magnetic resonance (mR)] approach as coincidence brain clusters are hypothesized to correlate with clinical severity of auditory hallucinations. mETHODS: Twenty-two patients meeting Diagnostic and Statistical manual of mental Disorders (fourth edition, DSm-IV) criteria for schizophrenia and experiencing persistent hallucinations together with 28 healthy controls were evaluated with structural and functional mR imaging with an auditory paradigm designed to replicate those emotions related to the patients’ hallucinatory experiences. Coincidence maps were obtained by combining structural maps of gray matter reduction with emotional functional increased activation. Abnormal areas were correlated with the brief psychiatric rating scale (BPRS) and the psychotic symptom rating scale (PSYRATS) scales. RESULTS: The coincidence analysis showed areas with coexistence gray matter reductions and emotional activation in bilateral middle temporal and superior temporal gyri. Significant negative correlations between BPRS and PSYRATS scales were observed. BPRS scores were negatively correlated in the middle temporal gyrus (right) (t = 6.86, P = 0.001), while negative PSYRATS correlation affected regions in both the superior temporal gyrus (left) (t = 7.85, P = 0.001) and middle temporal gyrus (left) (t = 4.97, P = 0.002). CONCLUSION: Our data identify left superior and middle temporal gyri as relevant areas for the understanding of auditory hallucinations in schizophrenia. The use of multimodal approaches, sharing structural and functional information, may demonstrate areas specifically linked to the severity of auditory hallucinations.

精确约束印度-亚洲初始碰撞时间对于认识喜马拉雅造山过程、青藏高原隆升机制及其对环境、气候和生物的效应具有重要的意义.本文基于对西藏雅鲁藏布缝合带两侧沉积记录的研究,对印度-亚洲大陆初始碰撞时间研究进行了总结和评述,探讨了印度-亚洲大陆初始碰撞的穿时性,重建了大陆碰撞的沉积演化.在接受以大陆间洋壳消失、陆壳-陆壳初始接触作为初始碰撞定义的前提下,利用两种方法:(1)缝合带附近深水浊积岩物源区由印度物源向亚洲物源转变的时间,(2)喜马拉雅欠充填前陆盆地启动在缝合带两侧造成的沉积环境突变或不整合的时间,精确限定印度-亚洲大陆初始碰撞时间为古新世中期((5 9±1)ma).从喜马拉雅造山带来看,真正的初始碰撞时间比正常海相沉积结束要早20~25ma,而磨拉石出现比初始碰撞要晚30~40ma.基于特提斯喜马拉雅古近系沉积记录,印度-亚洲大陆初始碰撞在喜马拉雅中部和西部不存在明显的穿时性.本文从喜马拉雅地区的沉积记录角度出发,将喜马拉雅造山作用划分为四个阶段:(1)始喜马拉雅初始阶段,古新世中期-早始新世(59~52ma),初始碰撞发生,同碰撞盆地存在深海环境,印度大陆一侧发育碳酸盐缓坡;(2)始喜马拉雅早期阶段,始新世早-中期(52~41ma或35ma),以发育残留的浅海沉积为特征,新特提斯海湾自西向东逐渐消亡;(3)始喜马拉雅晚期阶段,始新世末期-渐新世(41~26ma),整个喜马拉雅和藏南地区缺乏沉积作用;(4)新喜马拉雅早期阶段,渐新世末期-早中新世(2 6~17ma),喜马拉雅隆升,陆相磨拉石快速堆积,沿缝合带东西向发育雅鲁藏布江和印度斯河.

Near-Eddington accretion rates onto low-mass black holes are thought to be a prime driver of the multi-wavelength properties of the narrow-line Seyfert 1 （NLS1） population of active galactic nuclei （AGNs）. Orientation effects have repeatedly been considered as another important factor involved, but detailed studies have been hampered by the lack of measured viewing angles towards this type of AGN. Here we present multi-epoch, 15 GHz VLBA images （mOJAVE program） of the radio-loud and Fermi/LAT- detected NLS 1 galaxy 1H 0323＋342. These are combined with single-dish, multi-frequency radio monitoring of the source＇s variability, obtained with the Effelsberg 100-m and IRAm 30-m telescopes, in the course of the F-GAmmA program. The VLBA images reveal six components with apparent speeds of 1 - 7 c, and one quasi-stationary feature. Combining the obtained apparent jet speed （βapp） and variability Doppler factor （Dvar） estimates together with other methods, we constrain the viewing angle 0 towards 1H 0323＋342 to 0 ≤ 4°-13°. Using literature values of βapp and Dvar, we also deduce a viewing angle of 〈8°-9° towards another radio- and γ-ray-loud NLS1, namely SBS 0846＋513.

Studies on litterfall and decomposition provide estimations of decomposition rates of different *** is key information to understanding ecosystem dynamics and changes in a scenario of global *** objective of this research was to assess litterfall production,the potential deposition of macro and micronutrients through leaf and twig fall as well as macronutrient—use efficiency in three forest ecosystems at different altitudes： a pine forest mixed with deciduous species（S1）; a Quercus ***（S2）; and,a Tamaulipan thornscrub forest（S3）.Total annual litterfall deposition was 594,742 and 533 g m^（-2） for S1,S2 and *** litter was higher （68%） than twigs（18%）,reproductive structures（8%） or miscellaneous material（6%）.micronutrient leaf deposition was higher for Fe followed by mn,Zn and *** leaf deposition was higher for Ca followed by K,mg and *** though P deposition in leaves and twigs was lower than other macronutrients,its nutrient use efficiency was higher than Ca,mg or *** and species composition determine litter and nutrient deposition,with higher values at mid-altitudes（550 m）.Altitude is an important factor to consider when analyzing litter production as well as nutrient deposition as shown in this *** production and nutrient deposition are expected to change in a scenario of global warming.

Jasmonates(JAs) are phytohormones that finely regulate critical biological processes, including plant development and defense. JASmONATE ZIm-DOmAIN(JAZ) proteins are crucial transcriptional regulators that keep JA-responsive genes in a repressed state. In the presence of JA-Ile, JAZ repressors are ubiquitinated and targeted for degradation by the ubiquitin/proteasome system,allowing the activation of downstream transcription factors and, consequently, the induction of JA-responsive genes. A growing body of evidence has shown that JA signaling is crucial in defending against plant viruses and their insect vectors. Here, we describe the interaction of C2proteins from two tomato-infecting geminiviruses from the genus Begomovirus, tomato yellow leaf curl virus(TYLCV) and tomato yellow curl Sardinia virus(TYLCSaV), with the transcriptional repressor JAZ8 from Arabidopsis thaliana and its closest orthologue in tomato, SlJAZ9. Both JAZ and C2proteins colocalize in the nucleus, forming discrete nuclear speckles. Overexpression of JAZ8did not lead to altered responses to TYLCV infection in Arabidopsis;however, knock-down of JAZ8 favors geminiviral infection. Low levels of JAZ8 likely affect the viral infection specifically,since JAZ8-silenced plants neither display obvious developmental phenotypes nor present differences in their interaction with the viral insect vector. In summary, our results show that the geminivirus-encoded C2 interacts with JAZ8 in the nucleus, and suggest that this plant protein exerts an anti-geminiviral effect.
