Wastewater containing an azo dye Orange G(OG)causes massive environmental pollution,thus it is critical to develop a highly effective,environmental-friendly,and reusable catalyst in peroxymonosulfate(PMS)activation for OG *** this work,we successfully applied a magnetic MnFe_(2)O_(4)/α-MnO_(2) hybrid fabricated by a simple hydrothermal method for OG removal in *** characteristics of the hybrid were investigated by Xray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,Brunauer–Emmett–teller method,vibrating sample magnetometry,electron paramagnetic resonance,thermogravimetric analysis,and X-ray photoelectron *** effects of operational parameters(i.e.,catalytic system,catalytic dose,solution pH,and temperature)were *** results exhibited that 96.8% of OG degradation was obtained with MnFe_(2)O_(4)/α-MnO2(1:9)/PMS system in 30 min regardless of solution pH ***,the possible reaction mechanism of the coupling system was proposed,and the degradation intermediates of OG were identified by mass *** radical quenching experiments and EPR tests demonstrated that SO_(4)•̶,O_(2)•̶,and 1O2 were the primary reactive oxygen species responsible for the OG *** hybrid also displayed unusual stability with less than 30%loss in the OG removal after four sequential ***,magnetic MnFe2O4/α-MnO2 hybrid could be used as a high potential activator of PMS to remove orange G and maybe other dyes from wastewater.

Calculation of the neutron noise induced by fuel assembly vibrations in two pressurized water reactor(PWR) cores has been conducted to investigate the effect of cycle burnup on the properties of the ex-core detector noise. An extension of the method and the computational models of a previous work have been applied to two different PWR cores to examine a hypothesis that fuel assembly vibrations cause the corresponding peak in the auto power spectral density(APSD) increase during the cycle. Stochastic vibrations along a random two-dimensional trajectory of individual fuel assemblies were assumed to occur at different locations in the cores. two models regarding the displacement amplitude of the vibrating assembly have been considered to determine the noise source. then, the APSD of the ex-core detector noise was evaluated at three burnup steps. the results show that there is no monotonic tendency of the change in the APSD of ex-core detector; however, the increase in APSD occurs predominantly for peripheral assemblies. When assuming simultaneous vibrations of a number of fuel assemblies uniformly distributed over the core, the effect of the peripheral assemblies dominates the ex-core neutron *** behaviour was found similar in both cores.

Influence of Chitosan Binder on the Adhesion of Silver Nanoparticles on Cotton Fabric and Evaluation of Antibacterial Activity

Colloidal silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) with particle size less than 10 nm and concentration of 2 mM/L (~200 mg/L) were synthesized by gamma Co-60 ray irradiation of Ag+/chitosan solutions with different chitosan concentration of 0.5%, 1% and 2% (w/v). Incorporation of AgNPs onto cotton fabric was carried out by padding method with 100% wet pick-up. the content of AgNPs deposited on cotton fabric and released from cotton fabric after repeated washing was determined by inductively couple plasma-atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES). the results indicated that cotton/AgNPs fabric made from padding into AgNPs solution with 0.5% - 1% chitosan was the best one of AgNPs adhesion ability on cotton fabric. Results on antibacterial activity against S. aureus showed that cotton/AgNPs fabric with AgNPs content more than 100 mg/kg exhibited highly antibacterial activity (η > 98%). the mechanical property (tensile strength and elongation) of cotton/AgNPs fabrics was almost unchanged in comparison with untreated cotton fabric. thus, the resultant cotton/AgNPs fabric with highly antibacterial activity can be potentially used as bed drapes and/or patient uniforms in hospitals, etc.

Predicting residue contacts for protein-protein interactions by integration of multiple information

Detailed knowledge of interfacial region between interacting proteins is not only helpful in annotating function for proteins, but also very important for structure-based drug design and disease treatment. However, this is one of the most difficult tasks and current methods are constrained by some factors. In this study, we developed a new method to predict residue-residue contacts of two interacting protein domains by integrating information about evolutionary couplings andamino acid pairwise contact potentials, as well as domain-domain interaction interfaces. the experimental results showed that our proposed method outperformed the previous method with the same datasets. Moreover, the method promises an improvement in the source of template-based protein docking.

在雷诺数为 5 0 0 0～ 4 0 0 0 0的范围内 ,对以不同角度 (45°、6 0°、75°)布置的、具有不同高度 (4mm、5mm)的交叉肋条的方形截面通道内的强制对流换热进行了实验研究 .实验结果表明 :对交叉布置的肋条 ,其角度越大 ,高度越高 ,对流换热增强得越明显 ,但同时阻力也大为增加 ;与平行布置的肋条相比 ,交叉布置的肋条虽能使对流换热有所增强 ,但阻力增加的程度大于换热的增加 .就换热与阻力的总体效果来说 ,在雷诺数较低时 ,交叉肋条有一定的优越性 ,但在高雷诺数下。

Ceramics based on(Na_(1/2)B_(1/2))tiO_(3) are promising candidates for actuator applications because of large strains generated by an electric field-induced phase *** example,the(1-x)(Na_(1/2)Bi_(1/2))tiO_(3)-xSrtiO_(3) system exhibits a morphotropic phase boundary at x=0.2-0.3,leading to high values of inverse piezoelectric constant d_(33),which can be further improved by the use of single *** our previous work,single crystals of (Na_(1/2)B_(1/2))tiO_(3)-SrtiO_(3) and (Na_(1/2)Bi_(1/2))tiO_(3)-tiO_(3) were grown by the solid state crystal growth *** in the(Nai/2Bi/2)tiO3-SrtiO3 system was sluggish whereas the (Na_(1/2)B_(1/2))tiO_(3)-CatiO_(3) single crystals grew *** the present work,0.8(Na_(1/2)Bi_(1/2))ti0_(3)-0.2(Sr_(1-x)Ca_(x))ti0_(3) single crystals(with x=0.0,0.1,0.2,0.3,0.4)were produced by the solid state crystal growth technique in an attempt to improve crystal growth *** dependence of mean matrix grain size,single crystal growth distance,and electrical properties on the Ca concentration was investigated in *** investigations indicated that at x=0.3 the matrix grain growth was suppressed and the driving force for single crystal growth was *** Sr with Ca increased the shoulder temperature t_(s) and temperature of maximum relative permittivity t_(max),causing a decrease in inverse piezoelectric properties and a change from normal to incipient ferroelectric behavior.

A size-dependent computational approach for bending,free vibration and buckling analyses of isotropic and sandwich functionally graded(FG)microplates is in this study *** consider both shear deformation and small scale effects through the generalized higher order shear deformation theory and modified couple stress theory(MCSt).the present model only retains a single material length scale parameter for capturing properly size effects.A rule of mixture is used to model material properties varying through the thickness of *** principle of virtual work is used to derive the discrete system equations which are approximated by moving Kriging interpolation(MKI)meshfree *** examples consider the inclusions of geometrical parameters,volume fraction,boundary conditions and material length scale *** and effectiveness of the present method are confirmed through numerical results.

Simulation of Climate Change Scenarios for Phu Luong Watershed in Northern Viet Nam

the purpose of this paper is to apply ＂LARS-WG （Long Ashton Research Station--Weather Generator）＂ model to simulate the climate change scenarios for Phu Luong watershed in northem Viet Nam. Results indicated that LARS-WG adequately predicted precipitation and temperature with R2 = 0.80 and 0.73, respectively. Likewise, p-value of F test = 0.062 and p-value of t test = 0.885 for precipitation, meanwhile, for temperature are 0.092 and 0.564 at 0.05 level of significance, respectively. Moreover, results also stated that mean annual precipitation increases 1.62%, 2.17% and 3.96% and mean annual temperature increases 0.6 ℃, 0.8 ℃ and 1.05 ℃ in 2020, 2030 and 2040, respectively, with respect to those from baseline periods. this study also showed that LARS-WG model was used successfully for Viet Nam＇s watershed conditions.

D-IMPACt: A Data Preprocessing Algorithm to Improve the Performance of Clustering

In this study, we propose a data preprocessing algorithm called D-IMPACt inspired by the IMPACt clustering algorithm. D-IMPACt iteratively moves data points based on attraction and density to detect and remove noise and outliers, and separate clusters. Our experimental results on two-dimensional datasets and practical datasets show that this algorithm can produce new datasets such that the performance of the clustering algorithm is improved.
