The i.creased concern over global cli.ate change and lack of long-term sustai.abi.i.y of fossi. fuels i. the projected future has prompted further research i.to advanced alternati.e fuel vehi.les to reduce vehi.le emi.si.ns and fuel consumpti.n. One of the pri.ary advanced vehi.le research areas i.volves electri.i.ati.n and hybri.i.ati.n of vehi.les. As hybri.-electri. vehi.le technology has advanced, so has the need for more i.novati.e control schemes for hybri. vehi.les, i.cludi.g the development and opti.i.ati.n of hybri. powertrai. transmi.si.n shi.t schedules. The hybri. shi.t schedule works i. tandem wi.h a cost functi.n-based torque spli. algori.hm that dynami.ally determi.es the opti.al torque command for the electri. motor and engi.e. The focus of thi. work i. to develop and analyze the benefi.s and li.i.ati.ns of two di.ferent shi.t schedules for a posi.i.n-3 (P3) parallel hybri.-electri. vehi.le. a tradi.i.nal two-parameter shi.t schedule that operates as a functi.n of vehi.le accelerator posi.i.n and vehi.le speed (state of charge (SOC) i.dependent shi.t schedule), and a three-parameter shi.t schedule that also adapts to fluctuati.ns i. the state of charge of the hi.h voltage batteri.s (SOC dependent shi.t schedule). The shi.t schedules were generated usi.g an exhausti.e search coupled wi.h a fi.ness functi.n to evaluate all possi.le vehi.le operati.g poi.ts. The generated shi.t schedules were then tested i. the software-i.-the-loop (Si.) envi.onment and the vehi.le-i.-the-loop (Vi.) envi.onment and compared to each other, as well as to the stock 8L45 8-speed transmi.si.n shi.t schedule. The results show that both generated shi.t schedules i.proved upon the stock transmi.si.n shi.t schedule used i. the hybri. powertrai. compari.g component effi.i.ncy, vehi.le effi.i.ncy, engi.e fuel economy, and vehi.le fuel economy.

A resource that provi.es candi.ate transcri.ti.n factor bi.di.g si.es （TFBSs） does not currently exi.t for cattle. Such data i. necessary, as predi.ted si.es may serve as excellent starti.g locati.ns for future omi.s studi.s to develop transcri.ti.nal regulati.n hypotheses. i. order to generate thi. resource, we employed a phylogeneti. footpri.ti.g approach--usi.g sequence conservati.n across cattle, human and dog and posi.i.n-speci.i. scori.g matri.es to i.enti.y 379,333 putati.e TFBSs upstream of nearly 8000 Mammali.n Gene Collecti.n （MGC） annotated genes wi.hi. the cattle genome. Compari.ons of our predi.ti.ns to known bi.di.g si.e loci.wi.hi. the PCKi. ACTA1 and G6PC promoter regi.ns revealed 75% sensi.i.i.y for our method of di.covery. Addi.i.nally, we i.tersected our predi.ti.ns wi.h known cattle SNP vari.nts i. dbSNP and on the lllumi.a Bovi.eHD 770k and Bos 1 SNP chi.s, fi.di.g 7534, 444 and 346 overlaps, respecti.ely. Due to our stri.gent fi.teri.g cri.eri., these results represent hi.h quali.y predi.ti.ns of putati.e TFBSs wi.hi. the cattle genome. Duri.g the peri.d 1955-1959, approxi.ately 4000 people i. southeast Anatoli. developed porphyri. due to the i.gesti.n of hexachlorobenzene (HCB), a fungi.i.e added to wheat seedli.gs. These HCB exposures subsequently led to the development of bullae on sun-exposed areas, hyperpi.mentati.n, hypertri.hosi., and porphyri.uri.. The condi.i.n was called kara yara or 'black sore.' Many of the breast-fed chi.dren under the age of 2 years whose mothers had i.gested HCB-treated grai. di.d from a di.ease known as pembe yara or 'pi.k sore.' i. thi. follow-up study of 252 pati.nts, 20-30 years postexposure, there were 162 males and 90 females, wi.h an average current age of 35.7 years, an average of onset of 7.6 years, and a durati.n of 2.2 years. Many pati.nts had dermatologi., neurologi., and orthopedi. symptoms and si.ns. The observed cli.i.al fi.di.gs i.clude scarri.g of the face and hands (83.7％), hyperpi.mentati.n (65％), hypertri.hosi. (44.8％), pi.ched faci.s (40.1％), pai.less arthri.i. (70.2％), small hands (66.6％), sensory shadi.g (60.6％), myotoni. (37.9％), cogwheeli.g (41.9％), enlarged thyroi. (34.9％), and enlarged li.er (4.8％). Uri.e and stool porphyri. levels were determi.ed i. all pati.nts, and 17 have at least one of the porphyri.s elevated. A total of 56 speci.ens of human mi.k obtai.ed from mothers wi.h porphyri. were analyzed for HCB. The average value was 0.51 ppm i. HCB-exposed pati.nts compared to 0.07 ppm i. unexposed controls. Bovi.e parai.-fluenza 3 vi.us (bPi.3V) a member of Respi.ovi.us genus i. associ.ti.n wi.h other respi.atory vi.uses causes respi.atory di.ease complex i. rumi.ants. The ai. of thi. study was to esti.ate the seroprevalence of bPi.3V i. non vacci.ated cattle, sheep and goats from Grenada. Sera were collected randomly from 60 sheep, 60 goats and 60 cattle from all si. pari.hes of Grenada. Sera were tested for anti.odi.s to bPi.3V usi.g an i.di.ect Enzyme Li.ked i.munosorbant Assay (ELi.A) ki.. Anti.odi.s to bPi.3V were detected i. 13.4% (Confi.ence Level (CL): 95%;Confi.ence i.terval (Ci.: 4.76% to 22.02%) i. cattle;16.7% (CL: 95%;Ci. 7.26% to 26.14%) i. sheep and 11.7% (CL: 95%;Ci. 3.57% to 19.83%) i. goats. Seroprevalence of Bluetongue Vi.us Anti.ody i. Rumi.ants from Grenada

The ai. of the present study was to esti.ate the seroprevalence of anti.odi.s to bluetongue vi.us (BTV) among domesti. rumi.ants of Grenada. Sera samples from cattle (133), goat (314) and sheep (481) were tested usi.g competi.i.e Enzyme-li.ked i.munosorbent assay (c-ELi.A). Of the total of 928 samples tested, the overall BTV seroprevalence was 78.4% (95% confi.ence i.terval (Ci.± 2.65). The seroposi.i.i.y of ovi.e, capri.e and bovi.e was found to be 71.7% (95% Ci. 67.67% to 75.73%), 80.2% (95% Ci. 75.79% to 84.61%) and 98.5% (95% Ci. 96.43% to 100.57%), respecti.ely. There was stati.ti.al si.ni.i.ance i. the seroprevalence of BTV among bovi.e, capri.e and ovi.e (p i. i. evi.ent from thi. study that blue tongue vi.us i. endemi. i. Grenada.
