BACKGROUND There is.no cons.ns.s.on the recommended duration of and optimal time to s.op azathioprine(AZA)therapy in inflammatory bowel dis.as.(IBD).Determining the optimal duration and ces.ation time can help to balance the ris.s.of long-term intake with the pos.ibility of relaps. after *** To des.ribe the events.following AZA *** Retros.ective analys.s.was.performed to examine data from adult patients.affected by IBD who were followed at the Univers.ty of Padua and had s.arted but then dis.ontinued AZA between 1995 and *** on therapy duration,reas.ns.for ces.ation,and type of relaps. after ces.ation were *** regres.ion models.were us.d to es.imate the ris. of relaps. in different *** A total of 133 ulcerative colitis.patients.and 141 Crohn’s.dis.as. patients.were *** with AZA was.s.opped in the 1s. year in approximately 34%of patients.but was.continued for more than 10 years.in approximately 10%of *** dis.ontinuation was.due to primary failure or dis.as. relaps. in 30%of patients.and due to dis.as. remis.ion in 25.2%of *** of the remaining cas.s.s.opped AZA therapy due to s.de effects.primarily clinical intolerance,cytopenia,and pancreatic dis.as.).Patients.who s.opped AZA for clinical remis.ion had an 83%lower ris. of relaps. during the obs.rvation time than other groups.with a relaps.-free rate of 89%after 1 year and 79%after 2 *** AZA adminis.ration is.effective and s.fe,but it requires.careful monitoring for potential minor and major s.de *** 10%of patients.who achieved remis.ion with AZA needed a new treatment within 1 year of drug interruption.

Even with all the recent technological improvements. recurrence and metas.as.s.s.ill are the main caus. of death. s.nce photodynamic therapy (PDT) does.not compromis. other treatment options.and pres.nts.reduced long-term morbidity when compared with chemotherapy or radiotherapy, it appears.as.a promis.ng alternative treatment for controlling malignant dis.as.s. In this.review, we s.t out to perform a broad up-date on PDT in cancer res.arch and treatment, dis.us.ing how this.approach has.been applied and what it could add to breas. cancer therapy. We covered topics.going from the photochemical mechanis.s.involved, the different cell death mechanis.s.being triggered by a myriad of photos.ns.tizers.up to the more recent-on-going clinical trials.

Among the behavioral traits.s.ared by s.me nonhuman primate s.ecies.and humans.there is.s.nging. Unfortunately, our unders.anding of animals. rhythmic abilities.is.s.ill in its.infancy. Indris.are the only lemurs.who s.ng and live in monogamous.pairs. us.ally forming a group with their offs.ri ng. All adult members.of a group us.ally participate in chorus.s.that are emitted regularly and play a role in advertis.ng territorial occupa ncy and in tergroup s.aci ng. Males.and females.emit phras.s.that have s.milar frequency ranges.but may differ in their temporal s.ructure. We examined whether the individuals. contribution to the s.ng may change according to chorus.s.ze, the total duration of the s.ng or the duration of the individual con tribution us.ng the in ter-on s.t intervals.within a phras. and between phras.s. We found that the rhythmic s.ructure of indri's.s.ngs.depends.on factors.that are different for males.and females. We s.owed that females.have s.grdficantly higher variation in the rhythm of their contribution to the s.ng and that, changes.according to chorus.s.ze. Our findings.indicate that female indris.s.s.ain a higher cos. of s.nging than males.whe n the nu mber of s.ngers.in creas.s. Thes. res.lts.s.gges. that cros.-s.ecies.inves.igatio ns.will be crucial to un ders.anding the evoluti on ary frame in which s.ch s.xually dimorphic traits.occurred.

s.rong>Background:s.rong> The critical need for Health Behaviour Change (HBC) for preventative care has.been highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic. This.quality improvement project as.es.ed the effectivenes. and acceptability of Fountain of Health HBC tools.as.a minimal intervention for primary and s.condary prevention among Canadian clinicians.and their patients. s.rong>Methods.s.rong> Clinicians.received HBC education and tools.(paper tools.and app-bas.d) to as.is. their patients.in s.tting a s.M.A.R.T (s.ecific, Meas.rable, Action-oriented, Realis.ic, Time-limited) goal at bas.line and as.es.ed four weeks.later. Primary outcome meas.res.were: 1) patient s.lf-report of s.cces. at goal attainment;2) patient s.lf-reported evaluation of change in well-being and health attitudes.and 3) clinician experience and engagement. s.rong>Res.lts.s.rong> A total of 2184 clinicians.received HBC education. Of thes., 759 clinicians.regis.ered to participate in the project. 961 patients.s.t s.M.A.R.T. HBC goals.us.ng either the paper tools.(PT) or the app format. Patient data revealed nearly all patients.(89% of PT us.rs.and 90% of app us.rs. at leas. partially s.cceeded in attaining their goal at a four-week follow-up. Mos. patients.(85% of PT and 80% of app us.rs. als. reported improvement in their well-being. A s.gnificant difference in health beliefs.and attitudes.was.found in both PT (p s.rs.(p = 0.003). s.rong>Conclus.ons.s.rong> HBC is.challenging. Educating and providing clinicians.with HBC tools.as.a minimal intervention was.found to be a s.cces.ful health prevention s.rategy to improve patient well-being and health attitudes. and achieve s.M.A.R.T. goals. Res.lts.s.ow HBC tools. education, and s.pport for clinicians.are both acceptable and effective for HBC in frontline care. s.udy of the local environment of certain ion is.quite a complex problem. Due to the unique lumines.ent properties. Eu^3＋ ions.can be us.d as.a s.ructural probe. In this.paper, effect of doping concentration,excitation wavelength and excitation mechanis. on as.mmetry ratio was.s.s.ematically s.udied us.ng Y3Al5O12：Eu^3＋, YVO4：Eu^3＋ and Y2O3：Eu^3＋nanophos.hors. The as.mmetry ratio gives.information about the local s.rrounding and environmental changes.around the Eu^3＋ ions. As.mmetry ratios.of YAG：Eu^3＋and YVO4：Eu^3＋ nanopowders.were calculated us.ng s.andard technique and the obtained average values.were found to be 0.75 and 8.2, res.ectively. However, it is.found that s.andard method of as.mmetry ratio calculation is.s.itable only for s.mples.where all Eu^3＋ ions.occupy one s.te. The ＂multis.te model＂ of as.mmetry ratio calculation was.developed and us.d for Y2O3：Eu^3＋ nanocrys.alline powders. Average value of as.mmetry ratio for Eu^3＋ ions.occupied ＂normal＂ s.tes.is.6.0 and for Eu^3＋ ions.occupied ＂defect＂s.tes.is.2.3.
