Effect of Artificial Cooling Extrusion on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Mg–Zn–Y Alloys

Microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg–Zn–Y alloys with different Zn/Y atomic ratios with or without artificial cooling (AC) extrusion were systematically investigated in this work. The results show that bimodal microstructure consisting of submicron dynamic recrystallized (DRXed) grains with high fraction of low-angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) and elongated unDRXed grains was formed in Mg_(98.7)Zn_(1)Y_(0.3) alloy with AC extrusion. The AC process effectively limits the growth of precipitated phases, and large amount of nanoscale precipitates were dynamically precipitated during the extrusion process. AC extrusion could effectually refine the lamellar 14H LPSO phases and inhibit the transition from stacking faults to LSPO phases in Mg_(98)Zn_(1)Y_(1) alloy and the narrow LPSO phase in Mg_(98)Zn_(1)Y_(1)-AC alloy which could promote the nucleation of DRXed grains. The AC extrusion significantly improves the strength of Mg–Zn–Y alloys. Owing to AC extrusion, the strength improvement of Mg_(98.7)Zn_(1)Y_(0.3) alloy is mainly attributed to fine grain strengthening, dislocation strengthening, and nano-phases precipitation strengthening. After AC process, more fine grains and nano-phases jointly strengthen the Mg_(98)Zn_(1)Y_(1) alloy. The Mg_(98)Zn_(1)Y_(1) alloy obtains optimal mechanical properties after extrusion at 623 K, with ultimate tensile strength (UTS) of 406 MPa, yield strength (YS) of 388 MPa, and elongation (EL) of 5.6%.

Bibliometric analysis of soil phosphate solubilizing microorganisms research using VOSviewer

Phosphorus-solubilizing microbes play key roles in improving phosphorus availability and in alleviating phosphorus nutrient limitation in soils. However, we did not have a comprehensive understanding of the overall research progress and development trend of phosphorus solubilizing microorganisms. In this study, we obtain documents from the Web of Science (WOS) core collection between 2002 and 2022, and a comprehensive review of the progress of global research on soil phosphate solubilizing microorganisms was conducted by using the VOSviewer bibliometric analysis tool. The results showed an increasing trend in the number of published articles from 2002 to 2022. India, accounting for 28% of the total number of published articles, became the most productive country. However, Canada was the country with the highest average citation frequency of articles. Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) was the greatest contributor with the most publications. Among the published journals, Frontiers in Microbiology, Applied Soil Ecology and Plant and Soil were the top three core journals in this field. Based on the keyword analysis, the assessment of the mechanisms between phosphorus solubilizing microbes and the soil carbon cycles with the different management practices became the new research trend among the scientific communities. These findings would provide an important reference value for future in-depth research on soil phosphate solubilizing microorganisms.

Challenges and exploration for immunotherapies targeting cold colorectal cancer

In recent years,immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs)have made significant breakthroughs in the treatment of various tumors,greatly improving clinical *** the fifth most common antitumor treatment strategy for patients with solid tumors after surgery,chemotherapy,radiotherapy and targeted therapy,the therapeutic response to ICIs largely depends on the number and spatial distribution of effector T cells that can effectively identify and kill tumor cells,features that are also important when distinguishing malignant tumors from“cold tumors”or“hot tumors”.At present,only a small proportion of colorectal cancer(CRC)patients with deficient mismatch repair(dMMR)or who are microsatellite instability-high(MSI-H)can benefit from ICI treatments because these patients have the characteristics of a“hot tumor”,with a high tumor mutational burden(TMB)and massive immune cell infiltration,making the tumor more easily recognized by the immune *** contrast,a majority of CRC patients with proficient MMR(pMMR)or who are microsatellite stable(MSS)have a low TMB,lack immune cell infiltration,and have almost no response to immune monotherapy;thus,these tumors are“cold”.The greatest challenge today is how to improve the immunotherapy response of“cold tumor”*** the development of clinical research,immunotherapies combined with other treatment strategies(such as targeted therapy,chemotherapy,and radiotherapy)have now become potentially effective clinical strategies and research ***,the question of how to promote the transformation of“cold tumors”to“hot tumors”and break through the bottleneck of immunotherapy for cold tumors in CRC patients urgently requires *** by developing an in-depth understanding of the immunotherapy mechanisms of cold CRCs can we screen out the immunotherapy-dominant groups and explore the most suitable treatment options for individuals to improve therapeutic efficacy.

Spatial Variation in CO_(2) Concentration Improves the Simulated Surface Air Temperature Increase in the Northern Hemisphere

The increasing concentration of atmospheric CO_(2) since the Industrial Revolution has affected surface air ***,the impact of the spatial distribution of atmospheric CO_(2) concentration on surface air temperature biases remains highly *** incorporating the spatial distribution of satellite-derived atmospheric CO_(2) concentration in the Beijing Normal University Earth System Model,this study investigated the increase in surface air temperature since the Industrial Revolution in the Northern Hemisphere(NH) under historical conditions from *** comparison with the increase in surface temperature simulated using a uniform distribution of CO_(2),simulation with a nonuniform distribution of CO_(2)produced better agreement with the Climatic Research Unit(CRU) data in the NH under the historical condition relative to the baseline over the period *** June-July-August(JJA) surface air temperature increased by 1.28℃ ±0.29℃ in simulations with a uniform distribution of CO_(2),by 1.00℃±0.24℃ in simulations with a non-uniform distribution of CO_(2),and by 0.24℃ in the CRU *** decrease in downward shortwave radiation in the non-uniform CO_(2) simulation was primarily attributable to reduced warming in Eurasia,combined with feedbacks resulting from increased leaf area index(LAI) and latent heat *** effects were more pronounced in the non-uniform CO_(2)simulation compared to the uniform CO_(2) *** indicate that consideration of the spatial distribution of CO_(2)concentration can reduce the overestimated increase in surface air temperature simulated by Earth system models.

Photo-biocatalysis,the combination of photosensitization and biocatalysis,is an emerging solution for sunlight-based renewable *** is thus important to develop light antennas with both good light har-vesting and efficient electron ***,the intriguing electrical conductivity of dsDNA and its host effect(for nucleic acid dyes to harvest light)were explored simultaneously to develop a dsDNA-based light antenna for *** SYBR Green I(SG)as the example of the nucleic acid dye,the proposed SG-dsDNA system was found to be capable for visible-light-driven reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide(NADH)regeneration,and the turnover frequency of which(1.35 min^(-1))exceeded most of the existing photocatalytic *** SG can only be hosted by dsDNA,meanwhile dsDNA can be formed through hybridization between single strand DNA and its complementary strand,the pro-posed system adds an extra control of the photocatalytic activity(DNA base pairing-based switch).When integrating the SG-dsDNA system with NADH-dependent horse liver alcohol dehydrogenase(HLADH),successful synthesis of 2-phenylpropanol(a crucial intermediates of profens manufacturing)was achieved.
