The influence of treatment modality on illness perception and secondary prevention outcomes among patients with acute myocardial infarction

The sinoatrial node(SAN)is the primary pacemak.r of the mammalian *** of the SAN increases exponentially with *** age-related remodelling of pacemak.r currents and pacemak.r action potential may contribute to age-related slowing of the heart rate and reduction in conduction velocity which result in *** recently discovered that store-operated Ca channel(SOCC)activity is present in the mouse sinoatrial node leading to Ca *** the present study we tested the hypotheses that changes in SOCC activity might play a significant role in aging related SAN *** experiments were carried out in intact mouse SAN preparations from either adult(2 months)or old(>18 months)*** Ca was detected with the fluorescent Ca indicator *** SOCC activity was determined from the influx of Ca following depletion of the sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca *** found that the Ca influx was reduced in old mice compare to adult mice (2 month)(P<0.05,n=4).It is general believed that the transient receptor potential channel(TRPCs)gene family are candidates for encoding *** CellDirect one-step qRT-PCR method,we detected a downregulation of the mRNA expression of TRPCs(TRPC1,3,and 4)in the SANs from old mice(20-24 months),compare to the ones from young mice(1 month).However,the differences so far are not *** may reflect limited sample size or increased variability of the reference gene expression in aging mouse *** preliminary data suggest that changes in SOCC activity and expression of TRPC genes might play a role in SAN dysfunction, specifically in the aging heart.

Objectives:This study aims to determine if patients with acute myocardial infarction differ in illness perception and secondary prevention outcomes depending on the treatment they ***:A repeated measures design was used to compare patients with acute myocardial infarction receiving three different treatment modalities:ST-elevation myocardial infarction treated by primary percutaneous coronary intervention,ST-elevation myocardial infarction treated by thrombolytic therapy,and non ST-elevation myocardial infarction treated by medication.A convenient sampling technique was used to recruit 206 patients with acute myocardial infarction who agreed to participate in the current ***'illness perception,physical activity,and demographical and clinical data were collected during hospital admission and again at 6 ***:A total of 186 patients completed the *** showed that the primary percutaneous coronary intervention group perceived their illness as acute rather than chronic(P=0.034)and has lower personal control(P=0.032),higher treatment control(P=0.025),and higher perception of illness coherence(P=0.022)compared with patients receiving thrombolytic therapy and treated after non-ST segment ***,they report low control of their blood pressure(P=0.013)and less physical activity(P=0.001).Conclusion:The results of this study revealed that patients'treated with primary percutaneous coronary intervention had negative illness perception and limited behavioral changes 6 months after hospitalization in comparison with other treatment modalities such as percutaneous coronary intervention and thrombolytic *** research is recommended to confirm this association with longer follow-up study and among different cultures.

国家海洋与大气管理局下属的国家海洋局（NOS）和美国地质测量局地球资源观察系统（EROS）资料中心共同合作的一个项目是评价阿拉斯加安克雷奇航空图地貌晕渲的自动绘制过程。60块数字高程模型（DEM）的部分方法镶嵌后包括安克雷奇航空图的美国领域，数字资料存在的问题有：（1）在经纬差各1°的数据单元内有比例尺变形；（2）水系定位数据有误差；（3）平坦的冰山地表有变形。采用以简单的Lommel－－Seeligder模型为基础的一种晕渲算法，处理了最后的数字资料并改正每个问题。采用与水平方向夹角10°的西北方向照射光源，模拟地貌照射效果。普遍增加40％的光量，以提高图面大小坡度区域碎部的图象分辨率。最后的数字产品是黑白图象负片，用于国家海洋局（NOS）的地图制印生产。结合这一地貌图象印制的航空样图由国家海洋局组织评价。自动绘制地貌晕渲版估计比传统手工绘制方法节省75％的费用。

Single-Use Bag Valve Mask.: Evaluation of Device Design and Residual Bioburden Analytical Methods

Back.round: A recent survey of in-hospital reprocessing in Tanzanian hospitals identified bag-valve mask. (BVM) as a commonly reused single-use device. In low- and middle-income countries (LMIC), in-hospital reprocessing supports neonatal resuscitation strategies by helping to maintain adequate supplies of BVM. However, there is a need for device-specific protocols defining reprocessing procedures and inspection criteria to overcome variations in reprocessing practices between hospitals. The purposes of this study were: 1) to complete a comprehensive design review and identify challenges to reprocessing BVMs;and 2) to investigate three different residual bioburden analysis methods for assessing the efficacy of decontaminating a disposable BVM. Methods: New, unused bag-valve-mask. were contaminated with Staphylococcus epidermidis and Artificial Mucus Soil to simulate the worst case soiling conditions. Devices underwent one of five disinfection protocols, including one currently used in a LMIC hospital. Three analytical (two quantitative and one qualitative) methods were selected to evaluate residual bioburden on the device following decontamination. Results: Of all protocols tested, only the positive control and the Soap and Bleach protocols met disinfection targets. Most cleaning outcomes were consistent from trial to trial for each protocol. However, cleaning outcomes varied greatly for the Alcohol Wipe protocol. For the residual bioburden analyses, the two quantitative methods produced similar results, but the qualitative measurement exhibited increased variability. Conclusion: While this study revealed positive disinfection outcomes for the Tanzanian hospital decontamination protocol, more studies are required to support these findings. Design features of the BVM mask.presented challenges to cleaning and drying during different decontamination protocols, as seen in the variability in the Alcohol Wipe protocol performance. The nursing shortage is exacerbated by the faculty shortage, as faculty approach retirement age and too few faculty exist to replace them. Masters-prepared nurse with limited preparation for teaching may be unable to attend traditional educational programs because of work.and family commitments. Without further academic preparation, these nurses are illprepared for the faculty role. The College of Nursing partnered with the College of Education to develop a nurse educator degree program to prepare nurses for the faculty role. Blended and online courses are provided by the Colleges of Nursing. The EdD. in Instructional Leadership for Nurse Educators degree can be completed in three years of coursework.followed by dissertation research.

Objective： Sit-stand desk. have been designed to address high daily sitting in work.and school environments. The purpose was to determine the daily pattern of use and overall lik.ability of sit-stand desk.over the course of a semester. Participants： A total of 18 subjects （12 standing） completed the 11-week.study （week.5-15 of the semester） from January-April, 2016. Methods： Each student in the standing group was given a sit-stand desk.to use as they desired. Results： Individual daily standing time ranged from 0-100% of daily attendance time and the daily group average ranged from 2.1-38.4%. Two-thirds of the standing bouts were ≤ 2 min. Perception questionnaire answers were positive for using the desk.and their effect on students’ ability to work.in class. Conclusions： The results indicate the sit-stand desk. were utilized at low levels and for short durations for most participants, but perceptions of desk.use remained positive.
