New advances in targeted gastric cancer treatment

Despite a decrease in incidence over past decades,gastric cancer remains a major global health problem. In the more recent period, survival has shown only minor improvement, despite significant advances in diagnostic techniques, surgical and chemotherapeutic approaches, the development of novel therapeutic agents and treatment by multidisciplinary teams. Because multiple genetic mutations, epigenetic alterations, and aberrant molecular signalling pathways are involved in the development of gastric cancers, recent research has attempted to determine the molecular heterogeneity responsible for the processes of carcinogenesis, spread and metastasis. Currently, some novel agents targeting a part of these dysfunctional molecular signalling pathways have already been integrated into the standard treatment of gastric cancer, whereas others remain in phases of investigation within clinical trials. It is essential to identify the unique molecular patterns of tumours and specific biomarkers to develop treatments targeted to the individual tumour behaviour. This review analyses the global impact of gastric cancer, as well as the role of Helicobacter pylori infection and the efficacy of bacterial eradication in preventing gastric cancer development. Furthermore, the paper discusses the currently available targeted treatments and future directions of research using promising novel classes of molecular agents for advanced tumours.

An evaluation of prevention initiatives by 53 national anti-doping organizations: Achievements and limitations

Background: One main purpose of the World Anti-Doping Agency was to harmonize anti-doping efforts, including the provision of anti-doping education. A multifaceted approach to doping prevention can play a key role in preventing intentional and unintentional doping. This article aimed to systematically record and evaluate doping prevention approaches in the form of information and education activities of national antidoping organizations(NADOs) and assess the extent to which a multifaceted doping prevention approach has been ***: Data on anti-doping information and education activities of 53 NADOs were collected via a survey and an online search of the NADOs' websites. Prevention activities were classified into knowledge focused, affective focused, social skills, life skills, and ethic-and *** implementation of the prevention activities was assessed by 4 independent raters using a modified visual analogue ***: In total, 59% of the NADOs(n = 38) returned the survey and 70%(n = 45) had information available online. The data were combined for the visual analogue scale assessment. Overall, 58% of the NADOs(n = 37) reported offering activities including elements of all 5 *** of the raters' assessments indicated that the knowledge-focused approach was best implemented;the implementation of the other 4 approaches was largely unsatisfactory. The most common barriers to implementing doping prevention programs reported by the NADOs were lack of resources(n = 26) and difficulties in collaborating with sports organizations(n = 8).Conclusion: Results show a discrepancy between NADOs' self-report data and the implementation assessment. Even though the NADOs indicated otherwise, most of their education-based approaches did not address aspects of the visual analogue scale(e.g., resisting peer pressure) and only a few programs were ongoing. Diffusive gradients in thin films(DGT)measurements have been shown to outperform other phosphorus(P)tests in soils with strong P sorption,but this has not been confirmed for moderately weathered European *** compared the performance of DGT in predicting wheat grain yield in Swedish long-term fertility experiments with those of standard intensity(water-extractable P(P-H2O))and quantity(ammonium lactate-extractable P(P-AL))tests.A Mitscherlich-type model was used to fit wheat yield response to P application rates(0,15,30 or 35,and 45 kg P ha-1 year-1)in each individual trial replicate to estimate the maximum *** trials with clear plateau-type yield responses and the goodness of fit(R2)>0.75,relative yields(RYs)were calculated for each P treatment and plotted against the soil P test results(n=143).The goodness of the Mitscherlich-type fits decreased in the following order:DGT-measured P(P-DGT)(R2=0.35)>P-H2O(R2=0.18)>P-AL(R2=0.13).When excluding soils with P-AL:P-DGT≥0.1 L g-1,R2 was considerably improved to 0.55 for P-AL,0.46 for P-H2O,and 0.65 for P-DGT(n=61).At 95%of maximum yield,the upper limit of P deficiency for P-DGT was 44.8(the soils with P-AL:P-DGT<0.1 L g-1)and 61.9μg L-1(all soils),falling within the range reported for other European and Australian soils(6.0–142μg L-1).We show that in the investigated Swedish soils,DGT performed better than the quantity and intensity tests,which is attributed to its ability to capture P diffusion and resupply from the soil solid phase,similar to plant roots in the rhizosphere.

Starting in December 2019,COVID-19 had been spreading across the world on a limited scale for a quarter until March 2020 when the death toll in the countries comprising the Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN)finally started to ***,despite the relatively late outbreak in the region,the ASEAN market had already plunged along with other regional markets across the world amid heightened concern about the economic impact of the biggest viral killer in *** this paper,we examine the economic impact of coronavirus on different ASEAN countries separately by analysing their respective economic figures for the first two quarters in *** allows us to delineate the overall picture of its impact on ASEAN countries as well as to provide an estimation for the future outlook of the ASEAN economic *** propose that the slowing growth,the sluggish recovery of trade and the cross-country transmission of unemployment are three significant risk factors that the ASEAN economies are faced with.

This article analyses the literature regarding the value of computer-assisted systems in esogastroduodenoscopy-quality monitoring and the assessment of gastric *** data show promising results in upper-endoscopy quality control and a satisfactory detection accuracy of gastric premalignant and malignant lesions,similar or even exceeding that of experienced ***,artificial systems enable the decision for the best treatment strategies in gastriccancer patient care,namely endoscopic vs surgical resection according to tumor *** so doing,unnecessary surgical interventions would be avoided whilst providing a better quality of life and prognosis for these *** these performance data have been revealed by numerous studies using different artificial intelligence(AI)algorithms in addition to white-light endoscopy or novel endoscopic techniques that are available in expert endoscopy *** is expected that ongoing clinical trials involving AI and the embedding of computer-assisted diagnosis systems into endoscopic devices will enable real-life implementation of AI endoscopic systems in the near future and at the same time will help to overcome the current limits of the computer-assisted systems leading to an improvement in *** benefits should lead to better diagnostic and treatment strategies for gastric-cancer ***,the incorporation of AI algorithms in endoscopic tools along with the development of large electronic databases containing endoscopic images might help in upper-endoscopy assistance and could be used for telemedicine purposes and second opinion for difficult cases.

Black locust(Robinia pseudoacacia L.) was the first North-American tree species imported to Europe at the beginning of the seventeenth century. It is commonly planted worldwide because of its adaptability to environmental stresses, its valuable wood, easy propagation, frequent and abundant seed production, excellent coppicing,high seedling survival, and relatively high wood yield. This paper presents the study reports on evaluating a new transplanting operation by taking into accounts the interactions between soil,plant,and machine in line with the System of Rice Intensification(SRI)*** objective was to modify planting claw(kuku-kambing)of a paddy transplanter in compliance with SRI guidelines to determine the best planting spacing(S),seed rate(G)and planting pattern that results in a maximum number of seedling,tillers per hill,and *** separate experiments were carried out in two different paddy fields,one to determine the best planting spacing(S=4 levels:s_(1)=0.16 m×0.3 m,s_(2)=0.18 m×0.3 m,s_(3)=0.21 m×0.3 m,and s_(4)=0.24 m×0.3 m)for a specific planting pattern(row mat or scattered planting pattern),and the other to determine the best combination of spacing with seed rate treatments(G=2 levels:g1=75 g/tray,and g2=240 g/tray).Main SRI management practices such as soil characteristics of the sites,planting depth,missing hill,hill population,the number of seedling per hill,and yield components were *** of two-way analysis of variance with three replications showed that spacing,planting pattern and seed rate affected the number of one-seedling in all *** was also observed that the increase in spacing resulted in more tillers and more panicle per plant,however hill population and sterility ratio increased with the decrease in *** the maximum number of panicles were resulted from scattered planting at s_(4)=0.24 m×0.3 m spacing with the seed rate of g1=75 g/tray,the maximum number of one seedling were observed at s_(4)=0.16 m×0.3 *** highest and lowest yields were obtained from 75 g seeds per tray scattered and 70 g seeds per tray scattered treatment *** all treatments,the result clearly indicates an increase in yield with an increase in spacing.

Correlations between Human Adaptation, the Earth-Cosmos Context and Aristotle＇s Four Causalities

The Earth, which is a planet connection with the evolution of the Solar system, was formed and evolved as part of the WHOLE, in close of the Universe. The awareness, knowledge, and understanding of our coexistence with the Universe may clarify a series of obscure problems of our existence, and, at the same time, may bring solutions for other acute problems which our modem society has to face, such as energy, nature preservation, the origin, evolution and adaptation of the living and especially of man to the environment, etc.. This paper is trying to theoretically break up the concept of environmenf＇ into four fundamental contexts： terrestrial, lunar, solar-planetary, and cosmic context. We intend to approach the four contexts that distinctly and simultaneously influence life on the Earth using the interface theory which we developed in Informational Anthropology, Integronics and Biocosmological Anthropology. We consider that the living adapted and developed in a differentiated way according to the impact of these contexts. They may be the source for the four causalities Aristotle intuited, as well as the cause of many still unknown phenomena that diversified man＇s evolution and variability （Ackrill 1997; Falcon 2008）.
