A theoretical analysis of the influence of the flow of a coolant containing silver nanoparticle (Ag) in an automotive radiator is presented. The coolant fluid is composed of water or an aqueous solution of Ethylene-Glycol (EG50%) and silver nanoparticles. Ethylene glycol (EG) has been used in automobile radiators for many years due to its compatibility with metals and its anti-cooling properties. Silver nanoparticles are being incorporated into the development of high-precision surgical equipment. It is shown that the rate of heat transfer increases significantly using silver nanoparticles and ethylene glycol and water. There is a maximum for heat exchange between fluids in all analyzed coolant flows—the maximum moves to higher airflow rates when the coolant flow rate is increased. However, the energy dissipation in the stream also increases, but the relationship between the energy dissipated in the flow and the energy transferred in the form of heat is low, which justifies the use of silver nanoparticles and ethylene glycol, or silver nanoparticles and water as a coolant in the automotive vehicle radiator.

Objective Chemotherapy may cause drug-induced liver damage and studying the effectiveness of hepatoprotective substances in the clinical context is still warranted. We assessed the effectiveness of three commonly used natural substances for liver protection in East Asia. Methods： Retrospectively, we collected all medical records during a period of three years of cancer patients that underwent chemotherapy treatment and received glutathione, magnesium isoglicyrrhyzinate or polyene phosphatidylcholine at a Chinese integrative medicine hospital. Liver enzymes before and after one treatment cycle were detected. Paired t-test, chi-square, Snedcor＇s F distribution and ANOVA were used to analyze data. Results： 98 individuals were eligible for inclusion. After treatment, in the glutathione group, there were lower values in alanine aminotransferase （P 〈 0.05） and aspartate aminotransferase （P 〈 0.05）. There was also a lower level of liver injury in patients （P 〈 0.05）. In the magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate group there were lower values in total protein （P 〈 0.05）, alkaline phosphatase （P 〈 0.05） and gamma glutamyl transpeptidase values （P 〈 0.05）. There was also a lower level of liver injury in patients after treatment （P 〈 0.05）. In the polyene phosphatidylcholine group, there were no lower values of interest, including those of liver injury in patients （P 〉 0.05）. Conclusion： Glutathione and magnesium isoglicyrrhyzinate may be similarly effective in preserving liver function and preventing drug-induced liver injury in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Polyene phosphatidylcholine may have no significant activity in protecting liver function and preventing drug-induced liver injury in advanced cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Iron formations are valuable archives of sedimentary conditions and post-depositional ***,geochemical proxies commonly used to determine genetic characteristics can be variably modified during metamorphism and deformation,hampering their use as records of regional geological *** work focuses on strongly reworked magnetite-quartz-rich rocks from the São Josédo Campestre Massif,one of the oldest fragments of preserved crust in South *** genetic classification of these magnetite-quartz-rich rocks is not straightforward because primary assemblages and textures were variably modified by granulite facies metamorphism during a regional Paleoproterozoic migmatization *** address genetic ambiguities,we analyzed their magnetite and pyroxene chemistry,wholerock geochemistry,and Sm-Nd *** chemistry indicates that pyroxene-poor iron formations(Type B)are low in trace elements such as Ti,Al,V,and Mn,suggesting a chemical similarity to iron formations *** contrast,magnetites from pyroxene-enriched Type A iron formations are rich in trace elements and more akin to magnetite crystallized from higher temperature systems,such as skarn and ***^(147)Sm/^(144)Nd of these rocks show substantial variation even at the outcrop scale,indicating a locally-controlled,highly heterogeneous mixture of Archean,Paleoproterozoic,and Neoproterozoic ***,our geochemical tools point out to heterogenous signatures of these magnetitequartz rocks and proxies compatible with both low and high-temperature conditions and age of deposition spanning sources from the Archean to the *** interpret that the studied São Josédo Campestre magnetite-quartz rocks represent Archean iron formations with original magnetite chemistry and isotopic signatures variably modified by metamorphism and by at least one deformation-related hydrothermal *** results contrast with similar examples from China and Greenland where iron formation

Different global agendas have discussed the role of soils in mitigating and reducing global problems related to climate change,food security,biodiversity and erosion,among *** this in mind,the aim was to draw up an overview of the main soil agendas in Europe and Brazil,analysing their impact on the establishment of legal frameworks for soil use and *** Brazil,pastures are seen as an important alternative for converting degraded areas into ecosystem *** this end,a literature review was carried out using databases on the Scopus,Web of Science,Science Direct and Scielo platforms,as well as consulting documents from the European Union Missions in Horizon Europe and Brazilian legislation on the *** a pilot river basin,the Potential for Conservation Use(PCU)method was applied,which is used in Brazil to assess the impacts of different uses on the natural capital of soils,serving as a metric to guide public soil conservation *** was concluded that,on the European scene,discussions on soils have taken place in an integrated and organised way,with actions to mobilise different players in *** Brazil,even though there are important legal frameworks,actions are still restricted and disjointed,pointing to the need for progress in soil *** both scenarios,there is a need for scientifically validated metrics at regional scales that can contribute to a harmonised database capable of subsidising the development of efficient public policies to advance soil conservation at a global level.

This work aims to improve the understanding of how fracture zones affect carbonate reservoir properties based on observations of a pre-salt well located in the Santos Basin,*** identification of fracture zones allowed for the observation of a relationship between the occurrence of rock fractures and the silicification,as the latter plays an important role in determining porosity(higher silica content may increase brittleness of the rocks therefore increasing the likelihood of creating fractures zones and fractures may be filled up reducing the total porosity).To support the proposed observation,an integrated study was conducted using borehole imaging,spectroscopy logs,and sidewall core *** porosities were defined using nuclear magnetic resonance log analysis,alongside sidewall core samples,and thin *** integration of rock samples and well data with seismic analysis was performed to analyze the presence of a regional fault system that could explain high fracture densities as well as observed silica content *** results show how different types of cement filling up the formation pores affect fracture densities and total ***,it was possible to infer that the amount of silica content observed in well logs and thin sections relates to hydrothermal fluids reaching out the reservoir through regional fault systems detected in the seismic ***,this paper supports the comprehension of how diagenetic processes can significantly affect the properties of presalt reservoirs.

Different strategies can be used to perform reparations and reinforcements of ancient bolted and riveted metallic bridges. As the riveting process is not currently a common practice, it requires proper equipment and skilled workers. Another solution is the use of welding. However, the weldability of old steels is poor. Bolts are very attractive alternative solutions, and are most commonly used to repair old metallic bridges. Fitted bolts are expensive solutions; the alternative is the use of resin-injected bolts. The behavior of bolted joints with preloaded resin-injected bolts has been studied using quasi-static and creep tests; however, few studies on the slip and fatigue behavior of these joints can be found in the literature. This paper presents an overview of a few experimental programs that were carried out by several authors aiming at evaluating the fatigue behavior of single and double shear resin-injected bolted connections. A comparison between the experimental data of joints with preloaded standard bolts and preloaded resin- injected bolts shows a fatigue strength reduction in the latter. Since Eurocode 3 （EC3） suggests the same fatigue strength curve for joints made of resin-injected bolts and standard bolts, this may raise some con- cerns. Furthermore, research on the feasibility of using both bonded and bolted connections is shown. This last study was performed with high-strength low-alloy structural steel plates and an acrylic struc- tural adhesive for metal bonding. For both case studies, a statistical analysis is performed on fatigue experimental data using linearized boundaries and the Castillo and Fernandez-Canteli model. Fatigue design curves are proposed and compared with the design suggestions of several European and North American standards,
