Estradiol (E2) is the most potent and prevalent form of estrogen, a well-known hormone that regulates multiple tissues and functions in humans. In the brain, E2 regulates processes as diverse as learning, memory, cognition, mood, as well as neurodevelopment and neurodegeneration. The actions of E2 are mediated by classical estrogen receptors (ERs;α and β), and by the g protein-coupled estrogen receptor 1 (gPER or gPR30)(Prossnitz and Arterburn, 2015). Classical ER are predominantly present in the nucleus and cytoplasm, with less than 2% present on the plasma membrane, and mediate genomic cellular effects that occur in the time frame of hours to days (Prossnitz and Arterburn, 2015).

"Why do we have to review our experience in managing idiopathic fistula-in-ano regularly?" In order to answer this apparently simple question,we reviewed our clinical and surgical cases and most important relevant literature to find a rational and scientific *** would appear that whatever method you adopt in fistula management,there is a price to pay regarding either rate of recurrence (higher with conservative methods) or impairment of continence (higher with traditional surgery).Since,at the moment,reliable data to identify a treatment as a gold standard in the management of anal fistulas are lacking,the correct approach to this condition must consider all the anatomic and clinicopathological aspects of the disease;this knowledge joined to an eclectic attitude of the surgeon,who should be familiar with different types of treatment,is the only guarantee for a satisfactory *** a conclusion,it is worthwhile to remember that adequate initial treatment significantly reduces recurrence,which,when it occurs,is usually due to failure to recognise the tract and primary opening at the initial operation.

Turkey wattle is a by-product generated during slaughter,which has a large amount of connective tissue and is a potential source of glycosaminoglycans(gAgs).This study aimed to extract gAgs from the turkey wattle(Meleagris gallopavos)and investigate its anticoagulant activity,and its cytotoxic and antiproliferative activity in tumor *** sulfate(CS-4 and CS-6)and dermatan sulfate(DS)present in the F-VII fraction and hyaluronic acid(HA)in the F-V fraction were *** HA showed a high molecular weight(1.0×10^(6) Da)and an apparent cytotoxic/antiproliferative effect against human hepatoma cells.F-VII fraction has an apparent cytotoxic/antiproliferative effect against renal adenoma cells and anticoagulant potential in *** results achieved in this study demonstrated that wattle,a by-product of turkey industrialization,has the potential to be valued as a raw material for the extraction of gAgs with bioactive properties.

In this study,three semipredictive activity coefficient models:Wilson,non-random-two liquid model(NRTL),and universal quasi-chemical model(UNIQUAC),have been used for modeling vapor-liquid equilibrium properties of ternary mixtures that include substances found in alcoholic distillation processes of wine and *** particular,vapor-liquid equilibrium in ternary mixtures containing water + ethanol + congener has been modeled using parameters obtained from binary and ternary mixture *** congeners are substances that although present in very low concentrations,of the order of part per million,are important enological *** results given by these different models have been compared with literature data and conclusions about the accuracy of the models studied are drawn,recommending the best models for correlating and predicting phase equilibrium properties of this type of mixtures.

The gut microbiota is a complex community of microorganisms that inhabit the digestive tracts of humans,living in symbiosis with the ***,characterized by an imbalance between the beneficial and opportunistic gut microbiota,is associated with several gastrointestinal disorders,such as irritable bowel syndrome(IBS);inflammatory bowel disease(IBD),represented by ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease;and colorectal cancer(CRC).Dysbiosis can disrupt the mucosal barrier,resulting in perpetuation of inflammation and *** increase in some specific groups of harmful bacteria,such as Escherichia coli(***)and enterotoxigenic Bacteroides fragilis(ETBF),has been associated with chronic tissue inflammation and the release of pro-inflammatory and carcinogenic mediators,increasing the chance of developing CRC,following the inflammationdysplasia-cancer sequence in IBD ***,the aim of the present review was to analyze the correlation between changes in the gut microbiota and the development and maintenance of IBD,CRC,and IBD-associated *** with IBD and CRC have shown reduced bacterial diversity and abundance compared to healthy individuals,with enrichment of Firmicute sand *** bacteria are also associated with the onset and progression of CRC,such as Fusobacterium nucleatum,***,Enterococcus faecalis,Streptococcus gallolyticus,and *** research can evaluate the advantages of modulating the gut microbiota as preventive measures in CRC high-risk patients,directly affecting the prognosis of the disease and the quality of life of patients.
