Clinical effects of nonconvulsive electrotherapy combined with mindfulness-based stress reduction and changes of serum inflammatory factors in depression

BACKGROUND Depression is a common and serious psychological condition,which seriously affects individual well-being and functional *** treatment methods include drug therapy and psychological counseling;however,these methods have different degrees of side effects and *** recent years,nonconvulsive electrotherapy(NET)has attracted increasing attention as a noninvasive treatment ***,the clinical efficacy and potential mechanism of NET on depression are still *** hypothesized that NET has a positive clinical effect in the treatment of depression,and may have a regulatory effect on serum inflammatory factors during *** To assess the effects of NET on depression and analyze changes in serum inflammatory *** This retrospective study enrolled 140 patients undergoing treatment for depression between May 2017 and June 2022,the observation group that received a combination of mindfulness-based stress reduction(MBSR)and NET treatment(n=70)and the control group that only received MBSR therapy(n=70).The clinical effectiveness of the treatment was evaluated by assessing various factors,including the Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD)-17,self-rating idea of suicide scale(SSIOS),Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI),and levels of serum inflammatory factors before and after 8 wk of *** quality of life scores between the two groups were *** were made using t and χ^(2) *** After 8 wk of treatment,the observation group exhibited a 91.43%overall effectiveness rate which was higher than that of the control group which was 74.29%(64 vs 52,χ^(2)=7.241;P<0.05).The HAMD,SSIOS,and PSQI scores showed a significant decrease in both ***,the observation group had lower scores than the control group(10.37±2.04 vs 14.02±2.16,t=10.280;1.67±0.28 vs 0.87±0.12,t=21.970;5.29±1.33 vs 7.94±1.35,t=11.700;P both<0.001).Additionally,there was a notable decrease in the IL-2,IL-1β,and IL-6 in both gr

AIM：To confirm the role of angiopoietin-like protein 8（Angptl 8） in proliferative diabetic retinopathy（PDR）.METHODS：The sera and aqueous humor of 10 PDR patients and 10 non-diabetic retinopathy（NDR） patients（idiopathic macular hole patients） were collected and the expression of Angptl 8 was detected by enzyme linked immune-sorbent assay（ELISA）.Experimental diabetes mice model was induced with *** expression of glycosylated hemoglobin and Angptl 8 in sera was *** Angptl 8 was re-infused into wild type（WT） diabetic mice and spatial frequency threshold and contrast sensitivity were *** vitro retinal pigment epithelium（RPE） were stimulated by recombinant Angptl 8 for 24 *** assay were used to detect cell *** the same time,q RT-PCR and Western blot was used to measure the expression of proliferation-related factors in PRE ***：The expression of Angptl 8 was markedly increased in the sera and aqueous humor of PDR patients（F=99.02,P〈0.0001 in sera;t=10.42,P〈0.0001 in aqueous）.After successfully establishing the diabetic mice model,we found that glycosylated hemoglobin and Angptl 8 expression levels were ***-infusion of recombinant Angptl 8 into WT diabetic mice could further decrease spatial frequency threshold and contrast sensitivity（P〈0.01）.In vitro,RPE cells stimulated by recombinant Angptl 8could increase the relative absorbance of MMT assay（1.486±0.042 vs 1.000±0.104,P〈0.05） and proliferating cell nuclear antigen（PCNA） expression（0.55±0.01 vs 0.29±0.03,P〈0.05）.The proliferative effect of Angptl 8 is mainly mediated by increasing the expression of proliferation-activating factors cyclin A1（4.973±0.205 vs 2.720±0.197,P〈0.05）,cyclin F（5.690±0.219 vs 4.297±0.292,P〈0.05） and E2 F2（2.297±0.102 vs 1.750±0.146,P〈0.05）,and reducing the expression of proliferation-inhibiting factors cdkn1（2.370±0.074 vs 3.317±0.135,P〈0.05） and cdkn2（4.793±0.065 vs 5.387±0.149,P〈0.05）.CONCLUSION：The expression of Angptl 8

The role of innate immunity in diabetic nephropathy and their therapeutic consequences

Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is an enduring condition that leads to inflammation and affects a substantial number of individuals with diabetes worldwide. A gradual reduction in glomerular filtration and emergence of proteins in the urine are typical aspects of DN, ultimately resulting in renal failure. Mounting evidence suggests that immunological and inflammatory factors are crucial for the development of DN. Therefore, the activation of innate immunity by resident renal and immune cells is critical for initiating and perpetuating inflammation. Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are an important group of receptors that identify patterns and activate immune responses and inflammation. Meanwhile, inflammatory responses in the liver, pancreatic islets, and kidneys involve inflammasomes and chemokines that generate pro-inflammatory cytokines. Moreover, the activation of the complement cascade can be triggered by glycated proteins. This review highlights recent findings elucidating how the innate immune system contributes to tissue fibrosis and organ dysfunction, ultimately leading to renal failure. This review also discusses innovative approaches that can be utilized to modulate the innate immune responses in DN for therapeutic purposes.

Prediction of contact resistance of electrical contact wear using different machine learning algorithms

H62 brass material is one of the important materials in the process of electrical energy transmission and signal transmission,and has excellent performance in all *** the wear behavior of electrical contact pairs is particularly complex when they are in service,we evaluated the effects of load,sliding velocity,displacement amplitude,current intensity,and surface roughness on the changes in contact *** learning(ML)algorithms were used to predict the electrical contact performance of different factors after wear to determine the correlation between different factors and contact *** forest(RF),support vector regression(SVR)and BP neural network(BPNN)algorithms were used to establish RF,SVR and BPNN models,respectively,and the experimental data were trained and *** was proved that BP neural network model could better predict the stable mean resistance of H62 brass alloy after *** analysis shows that the load and current have great influence on the predicted electrical contact *** wear behavior of electrical contacts is influenced by factors such as load,sliding speed,displacement amplitude,current intensity,and surface roughness during *** learning algorithms can predict the electrical contact performance after wear caused by these *** results indicate that an increase in load,current,and surface roughness leads to a decrease in stable mean resistance,while an increase in displacement amplitude and frequency results in an increase in stable mean resistance,leading to a decline in electrical contact *** reduce testing time and costs and quickly obtain the electrical contact performance of H62 brass alloy after wear caused by different factors,three algorithms(random forest(RF),support vector regression(SVR),and BP neural network(BPNN))were used to train and test experimental results,resulting in a machine learning model suitable for predicting the stable mean

Anion-hosting cathodes capable of reversibly storing large-size anions play a leading role in dual-ion batteries(DIBs). The purpose of the present review is to summarize the most promising anion-hosting cathodes for current and late-stage DIBs. This review first summarizes the developments in conventional graphite cathodes, especially the latest advances in the graphiterelated research. Next, organic cathodes for the anion storage are discussed, including aromatic amine polymers, heterocyclic polymers, bipolar compounds, and all-carbon-unsaturated compounds. Then, the review focuses on the conversion-type cathodes with high theoretical specific capacities. Finally, the future research directions of the cathodes of DIBs are proposed.

Topological and superconducting properties of monolayered CoN and CoP:A first-principles comparative study

Two-dimensional systems that simultaneously harbor superconductivity and nontrivial band topology may serve as appealing platforms for realizing topological superconductivity with promising applications in fault-tolerant quantum ***,based on first-principles calculations,we show that monolayered Co N and Co P with the isovalent Fe Se-like structure are stable in freestanding form,even though their known bulk phases have no resemblance to *** two systems are further revealed to display intrinsic band inversions due to crystal field splitting,and such orderings are preserved with the inclusion of spin-orbit coupling(SOC),which otherwise is able to open a curved band gap,yielding a non-zero Z2 topological invariant in each *** a mechanism of topologicalization is distinctly contrasted with that identified recently for the closely related monolayers of CoX(X=As,Sb,Bi),where the SOC plays an indispensable role in causing a nontrivial band ***,we demonstrate that,by applying equi-biaxial tensile strain,the electron-phonon coupling strength in monolayered CoN can be significantly enhanced,yielding a superconducting transition temperature(Tc)up to 7-12 K for the Coulomb pseudopotential ofμ*=0.2-0.1,while the CoP monolayer shows very low Tc even under pronounced *** different superconducting behaviors can be attributed to different variations in lattice softening and electronic density of states around the Fermi level upon *** central findings enrich the understanding of different mechanisms of band inversions and topologicalization and offer platforms for achieving the coexistence of superconductivity and nontrivial band topology based on two-dimensional systems.
