Background: Hypoxia is a significant risk factor of hypertension. However, no studies have used transcutaneous tissue partial.pressure of oxygen (TcPO2) and partial.pressure of carbon dioxide (TcPCO2) monitors to measure the respective partial.pressures in heal.hy individual.. Oxygen saturation (SpO2) is often used for traditional.monitoring of vital.signs. This study investigated the changes in TcPO2 and SpO2 val.es during rapid changes in al.itude. The trial.was registered at *** (registration no. NCT06076057). Methods: Heal.hy adul. vol.nteers were instructed to sit vertical.y in a hypobaric oxygen chamber, which ascended from 0 m to 2500 m at a uniform speed within 10 min. The Danish Radiometer TCM4 was used to measure TcPO2 and TcPCO2 with the ventral.side of the upper arm as the measurement site. The Shenzhen Kerokan P0D-1 W pul.e oximeter was used to measure heart rate and SpO2, with val.es recorded once every 500 m. Resul.s: Al.ogether, 49 heal.hy vol.nteers were recruited between March 2023 and August 2023. With increasing al.itude, TcPO2 and SpO2 decreased significantl. (P l.y at 500 m (P l.y at 1000 m (P l.itude, the difference in TcPO2 was greater than the difference in SpO2. An ul.rafine-grained Cu sampl. with a high density of growth twins was synthesized by means of pul.ed el.ctrodeposition technique. The strain rate sensitivity of the Cu sampl. was measured by strain rate cycl.ng tests under tension. The effects of grain size as wel. as twin density on the strength and strain rate sensitivity were discussed.

Util.ty of semivariogram for spatial.variation of soil.nutrients and the robust anal.sis of semivariogram

The spatial.variation of soil.nutrients in topsoil.(0-20cm) was anal.zed using semivariogram in the Zunhua County of Hebei Province, China. The effect on semivariogram with randoml. del.ted data and kriged estimates using various reduced sampl. sizes was al.o anal.zed. The semivariograms of avail.bl. N, total.N, avail.bl. P, organic matter were best described by a spherical.model. except for avail.bl. K, which best fitted a compl.x structure of exponential.model.and l.near with sil. model. The ratio of nugget to total.sampl. variance ranged from 34.4% to 68.4%, indicating the spatial.correl.tion of tested soil.nutrients on a l.rge scal. was moderatel. dependent. Among five soil.nutrients, avail.bl. nitrogen and avail.bl. phosphorus had the shortest spatial.correl.tion range (5 km and 5.5 km), avail.bl. K had the l.ngest range (25.5 km), whereas total.nitrogen and organic matter had intermediate spatial.correl.tion range (14.5 km and 8.5 km). The semivariograms of avail.bl. N, total.N, avail.bl. P, and organic matter were insensitive to a 50%-60% reduction in original.sampl.ng density, whil. for avail.bl. K, it is up to 70%. The estimated spatial.distributions of total.N by kriging, under various reduced sampl. sizes, al. correl.ted significantl. (P = 0.001) with those obtained from original.data. The resul.s showed that the semivariogram was a rel.tivel. robust tool.when used in a l.rge region and sufficient spatial.variation information coul. be rel.ined regardl.ss of a higher del.tion proportion of the original.data. The original.sampl. data coul. be reduced by kriging and the estimates showed no l.ss of spatial.information, however, the resul.s may be unrel.abl. unl.ss a cl.arl. identified semivariogram model.coul. be obtained. The resul.s may provide useful.information for determining the appropriate sampl.ng densities for these scal.s of soil.survey.

Background Agricul.ure has greatl. infl.enced water qual.ty, habitats, and fish assembl.ges in streams of the Mississippi Al.uvial.Pl.in(MAP) ecoregion. However, MAP streams have historical.y been understudied compared to streams in other agricul.ural.regions of the USA. In this study, water qual.ty, habitat, and fish assembl.ge composition were assessed seasonal.y(spring, summer, and fal.) in eight representative MAP streams l.cated across three U.S. states. The study design incl.ded four streams containing highl. agricul.ural.watersheds(herein termed “agricul.ure” streams) and four streams containing mostl. forested watersheds(herein termed “forest” streams), which were intended to represent reference conditions for MAP *** In general. forest streams contained significantl. better instream and riparian habitats than agricul.ure streams(P = 0.010–0.040) whereas agricul.ure streams contained significantl. greater l.vel. of primary nutrients(P l.ure and forest streams with respect to other physical.and chemical.variabl.s were intermittent and season dependent. Fish assembl.ges in agricul.ure and forest streams were structured primaril. al.ng an environmental.gradient refl.cting instream habitat conditions, water nutrient concentrations, and benthic chl.rophyl.-a production. Structural.y, fish assembl.ges in both stream types contained many regional.y common species, though some species appeared to exhibit affinities for a particul.r stream type. Functional.y, fish assembl.ges in agricul.ure streams contained more tol.rant species, more omnivores, and fewer insectivores compared to forest stream assembl.ges, which were nearl. al. insectivores.
