Introduction:Malaria is a significant public health concern and tropical disease,particularly affecting Myanmar within the Greater Mekong *** annual parasite index(API)exceeds 1 per 10,000 population in the northern seven townships of Rakhine State,with Minbya Township designated as a highburden area for malaria by the world Health Organization(wHO)Myanmar and the National Malaria control Programme(NMcP).Since 2017,the Malaria reduction intensification plan has been in place in this township to combat the high disease transmission *** study aims to assess the malaria epidemiology in Minbya Township from 2017 to 2020 under the intensification plan for elimination,as well as to evaluate the effectiveness of the integrated strategy in reducing cases in hotspot ***:The study utilized a surveillance study design to collect secondary data from the Malaria surveillance system(MSS)and the epidemiologic monitoring dashboard of Minbya Township,Maruk-U District,located in Rakhine ***:Since 2017,the Malaria prevention and control(P&c)Program in Minbya Township has successfully decreased malaria morbidity,eliminated malaria-related deaths,and bolstered malaria testing capabilities through the participation of village health volunteers(VHVs).Approximately 87%of malaria prevention and control services are executed by the township’s malaria elimination and disease control programs,with additional support from *** API dropped from 13 in 2017 to 2.5 in 2020,with Plasmodium vivax being the most prevalent malaria species,accounting for 55%of ***:The study suggests that early diagnosis and promotion of artemisinin-based combination treatment(AcT),along with strategic planning including expanding active case detection in rural health centers and implementing a communitybasedcommunitybased integrated healthcare approach,are effective and efficient strategies for malaria elimination.

QT prolongation is recognized as a risk factor for car- diac arrhythmia and torsades de *** QT cor- rection is essential for unbiased estimation of drug effect. However,evaluation of drug effect on QTc is challenging due to multiple source of variability and low precision of QT measures resulting in low signal to noise ratio,high between individual and between occasion variabilities,the presence of circadian rhythm and inadequacy of fixed cor- rection methods such as Bezette’s and Fredericia’s. “Standard”QT analytical methods include 1)largest time- matched mean difference between the drug and placebo (baseline subtracted)over the collection period,2)time- averaged QT/QTc intervals for each individual,3)analysis for changes occurring at cfor each ***- er,the“standard”methods have limitations:1)do not provide quantitative information on QT prolongation,po- tency & activity,2)unable to simulate most critical situ- ation ***-therapeutic concentration,and 3)time averaging substantially reduces the .sensitivity of the test. Background:Myanmar lies in the Greater Mekong sub-region of South-East Asia faced with the challenge of emerging resistance to artemisinin combination therapies(AcT).Migrant populations are more likely than others to spread AcT resistance.A vital intervention to reduce malaria transmission,resistance spread and eliminate malaria is the use of bed *** seasonal and stable migrants in an artemisinin resistance containment region of Myanmar,we compared a)their household characteristics,b)contact with health workers and information material,and c)household knowledge,access and utilization of bed ***:Secondary data from community-based surveys on 2484 migrant workers(2013 and 2014,Bago Region)were analyzed of which 37%were seasonal *** net access and utilization were assessed using a)availability of at least one bed net per household,and b)one bed net per two persons,and c)proportion of household members who slept under abed net during the previous night(Indicator targets=100%).Results:Over 70%of all migrants were from unstable work settings with short transitory *** household size was five(range 1-25)and almost half of all households had children under-five *** 10%of migrants were night-time *** than 40%of households had contact with health workers and less than 30%had exposure to information education and communication(IEc)materials,the latter being significantly lower among seasonal *** 70%of households were aware of the importance of insecticide-treated bed-nets/long-lasting insecticidal nets(ITNs/LLINs),but knowledge on insecticide impregnation and retreatment of ITNs was poor(ccess to at least one bed net,the number with one bed net per two persons was grossly inadequate(13%for stable migrants and 9%for seasonal migrants,P=0.001).About half of all household members slept under a bed net during the previous ***:This study reveals important short-fa

AIM: To conduct the first systematic test of the hypothesis that modulation of cardiac vagal tone is impaired in Lyme ***: The response of cardiac vagal tone to respiratory modulation was measured in 18 serologically positive Lyme disease patients and in 18 ***: The two groups were matched in respect of age,sex,body mass,mean arterial blood pressure,mean resting heart rate and mean resting cardiac vagal tone. The mean maximum cardiac vagal tone during deep breathing in the Lyme disease patients [11.2(standard error 1.3)] was lower than in the matched controls [16.5(standard error 1.7); P = 0.02].cONcLUSION: Respiratory modulation of cardiac vagal tone is impaired in Lyme disease,which suggests that Lyme disease may directly affect the vagus nerve or the brainstem.

Payenapara lleloneura Kurz.(Kan-zaw),an endemic medicinal plant only found in Tanintharyi Region of Myanmar,is widely used in the treatment of various cancer and different *** the present research,the seeds were phytochemical investigated for their nutritional potential for their use as functional foods or novel diet oil *** evaluation showed that the seeds are rich in fats and carbohydrates(soluble sugars and starch).Fatty acid analyses showed that the seeds accumulate very richα-eleostearic acid(α-ESA,18:3^(Δ9 cis,11-trans),13 trans),an important conjugated fatty acid,up to more than 70% of total fatty *** seed oil derived from the Kan-zaw tree contains approximately 3.25% β-eleostearic acid(18:3^(Δ9 trans,11 trans,13 trans)),an unusual conjugated fatty acid that imparts a potent anticancer application and industrially important drying qualities to Kan-zaw *** properties of the Kan-zaw seeds were examined;petroleum ether(60–90℃)extract of seed oils were also investigated for the saponification value,iodine value and estimation of acid ***,the present study investigated cytotoxic potential of ethanol,methanol,acetone,chloroform Kan-zaw seed extracts and commercial Kan-zaw oil against human cervical cancer cell line(HeLa).The Kan-zaw extracts and oil have shown significant anticancer activity on HeLa cells.

The parasitism rate and the caterpillar infestation were studied by intercropping Dendranthema flowering plants with some cruciferous crops. These flowering plants increased significantly the rate of cotesia plutellae parasitism in the adj acent plots. It reached to 42.96% in treatment plot and 18.19% in the control. Although there was no significant difference in no. of diamondback moth （DBM） larvae per plant, 29.09% in population reduction was occurred in treatment plot. Abundance of cabbage looper and armyworm were also lower in adjacent plot. But, small white butterfly population （23.46%） was higher in adjacent plots as the result of Dendranthema plant. From the present experiment, Dendranthema flowering plants should be cultivated in Brasssicaceous crops for the control of DBM by providing the essential resources to larval parasitoid c. plutellae adults and then, this plant can be used as attractive plant in the control of small white butterfly. Serious elimination （Rating 4） of candidate insecticides to adult c. plutellae was observed at their recommendation doses. Among them, less toxic effect to c. plutellae was occurred in O,O-dimethyl S-methylcarbamoylmethyl which is the highest Lc50 （4,765 ppm） to DBM by leaf-disc bioassay method and the lowest Lc50 （2,903 pprn） was found in marlathion. It was occurred that the test strain have resistance to the recommended dose of marlathion （1,243 ppm） and O,O-dimethyl S-methylcarbamoylmethyl （3,750 ppm）.

we demonstrate low-loss hydrogenated amorphous silicon(a-Si:H) waveguides by hot-wire chemical vapor deposition(HwcVD). The effect of hydrogenation in a-Si at different deposition temperatures has been investigated and analyzed by Raman spectroscopy. we obtained an optical quality a-Si:H waveguide deposited at 230°c that has a strong Raman peak shift at 480 cm^(-1), peak width(full width at half-maximum) of 68.9 cm^(-1), and bond angle deviation of 8.98°. Optical transmission measurement shows a low propagation loss of 0.8 dB/cm at the1550 nm wavelength, which is the first, to our knowledge, report for a HwcVD a-Si:H waveguide.
