Background:Regular physical activity(PA)has been postulated to improve,or at least maintain,immunity across the life ***,the link between physical(in)activity and coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)remains to be *** small-scale prospective cohort study is nested within a randomized controlled trial aimed to investigate the possible associations between PA levels and clinical outcomes among hospitalized patients with moderate to severe ***:Hospitalized patients with COVID-19(mean age:54.9 years)were recruited from the Clinical Hospital of the School of Medicine of the University of Sao Paulo(a quaternary referral teaching hospital)and from Ibirapuera Field Hospital,both located in Sao Paulo,*** level was assessed using the Baecke Questionnaire of Habitual Physical *** primary outcome was hospital length of *** secondary outcomes were mortality,admission to the intensive care unit(ICU),and mechanical ventilation ***:The median hospital length of stay was 7.0§4.0 days,median§IQR;3.3%of patients died,13.8%were admitted to the ICU,and 8.6%required mechanical *** linear regression models showed that PA indices were not associated with hospital length of stay(work index:b=-0.57(95%confidence interval(95%CI):-1.80 to 0.65),p=0.355;sport index:b=0.43(95%CI:-0.94 to 1.80),p=0.536;leisure-time index:b=1.18(95%CI:-0.22 to 2.59),p=0.099;and total activity index:b=0.20(95%CI:-0.48 to 0.87),p=0.563).None of the PA indices were associated with mortality,admission to the ICU,or mechanical ventilation requirement(all p>0.050).Conclusion:Among hospitalized patients with COVID-19,PA did not independently associate with hospital length of stay or any other clinically relevant *** findings should be interpreted as meaning that,among already hospitalized patients with more severe forms of COVID-19,being active is a potential protective factor likely outweighed by a cluster of comorbidities(e.

Development of Airfoils Based on Their Aerodynamic Characteristics Using Artificial Neural Networks

One of the main concerns in Engineering nowadays is the development of aircrafts of low consumption and high performance. For this purpose, airfoils are studied and designed to have an elevated lift coefficient and a low drag coefficient, thus generating a highly efficient airfoil. The higher the efficiency value is, the lower the aircraft fuel consumption will be; thus improving its performance. In this sense, this work aims to develop a tool for airfoil creation from some desired characteristics, such as the lift and drag coefficients and maximum efficiency rate, using an algorithm based on an ANN （artificial neural network）. In order to do so, a database of aerodynamic characteristics with a total of 300 airfoils was initially collected from the XFoil software. Then, through a routine implemented in the MATLAB software, network architectures of one, two, three and four modules were trained, using the back propagation algorithm and momentum. The cross-validation technique was applied to analyze the results, evaluating which network possesses the lowest value in RMS （root-mean-square） error. In this case, the best result obtained was from the two-module architecture with two hidden neuron layers. The airfoils developed by this network, in the regions with the lowest RMS, were compared to the same airfoils imported to XFoil. The presented work offers as a contribution, in relation to other works involving ANN applied to fluid mechanics, the development of airfoils from their aerodynamic characteristics.

In this review, we discuss about current knowledge about stem cell(SC) therapy in the treatment of retinal degeneration. Both human embryonic stem cell and induced pluripotent stem cell has been growth in culture for a long time, and started to be explored in the treatment of blinding conditions. The Food and Drug Administration, recently, has granted clinical trials using SC retinal therapy to treat complex disorders, as Stargardt's dystrophy, and patients with geographic atrophy, providing good outcomes. This study 's intent is to overview the critical regeneration of the subretinal anatomy through retinal pigment epithelium transplantation, with the goal of reestablish important pathways from the retina to the occipital cortex of the brain, as well as the differentiation from pluripotent quiescent SC to adult retina, and its relationship with a primary retinal injury, different techniques of transplantation, management of immune rejection and tumorigenicity, its potential application in improving patients' vision, and, finally, approaching future directions and challenges for the treatment of several conditions.

Use of Intragastral Balloon and Increase in Fertility： Case Report

The IGB （intragastric balloon） is a silicone device, inflated by endoscopy in the gastric cavity, with physiological saline and a blue dye, up to the volume of 700 mL, and used for a maximum of 6 months, It is indicated for patients with BMI〉27 kg/m^2 that have not undergone previous gastric surgery. In obese women there is a decrease in peripheral resistance fertility, and the weight loss achieved in bariatric surgery improves fertility due to reduced subcutaneous fat, with lower insulin resistance. Similar results could be achieved through the use of IGB, a less invasive method. The objective of the article is to report the case of a patient who became pregnant using IGB, considering the hypothesis that the increase in fertility was due to weight loss and/or due to the improvement in the self-esteem （and sexual life） of patient. We selected 13 articles from PubMed, UpToDate, JAMA and a case report. Results： Balloon with drawal occurred on 05/02/16 after positive pregnancy test with final weight 65.5 kg and BMI 25.91 kg/m2. Conclusions： Weight loss actually favors fertility, but self-esteem may have been instrumental in improving the sex life, enabling conception.
