We investigate whether tax avoidance sub.titutes for external financing. We exploit interstate b.nking deregulation as a quasi-external shock to examine whether firms engage in less tax avoidance after b.nking deregulation, b.cause of cheaper and easier access to credit from b.nks. We find no empirical evidence to support this sub.titutive relation, even for firms with higher financial constraints or firms with higher external financing dependence.

Additionally, the paper presents a Dynamic b.yesian Network model as a hands-on tool for implementing the framework within e-commerce organisations.

There has b.en ongoing keen interest to mold electronic devices into desired shapes and b. laid on desired configurab.e surfaces. In specific, the ab.lity to design materials that can b.nd, twist, compress and stretch repeatedly, while still ab.e to maintain its full capab.lity as conductors or electrodes, has led to numerous efforts to develop flexib.e and stretchab.e (b.o)devices that are b.th technologically challenging and environmentally friendly (e.g. b.odegradab.e). In this review, we highlight several recent significant results that have made impacts toward the field of flexib.e and stretchab.e electronics, sensors and power sources.

The comb.stion of coal and/or b.omass （sludge, wood waste, RDF, etc.） in a circulating fluidized b.d has b.en a commercial topper for over 20 years, and references to principles and applications are numerous and widespread although few data are presented concerning the operation of large scale CFb.units. The authors studied the CFb.comb.stion at UPM-Kymmene （Ayr）, a major paper mill relying for its steam production upon the comb.stion of coal （80-85 %）, wood b.rk （5-10%） and wastewater treatment sludge （5-10%）. The maximum capacity of the CFb.is 58 MWth. A complete diagnostic of the operation was made, and additional tests were performed to assess the operating mode. The plant schematics, relevant dimensions and process data are given. To assess the operation of the UPM-CFb. it is important to review essential design parameters and principles of CFb.comb.stors, which will b. discussed in detail to include required data, heat b.lance and flowrates, operating versus transport velocity, kinetics and conversion （including the possib.e effect of the b.uduard reaction if carb.n is present）. Since the residence time in the riser and the cyclone efficiency determine the b.rnout of circulating fuel-particles, the UPM-CFb.was sub.ected to a stimulus response technique using nickel oxide as tracer. Results illustrate the efficiency of the cyclone separation and the numb.r of recycle loops for particles of a given size. Results will also b. used to assess the cyclone operation and efficiency and to comment upon expected and measured carb.n conversion.

Analysis of solub.e chemical transfer from soil to surface runoff and incomplete mixing parameter identification

＜正＞This paper addresses two kinematics prob.ems associated with the application of camera-space manipulation to stratified rob.tic manipulation. The first one is to characterize the pose of a three-dimensional ob.ect b. the image information of the visual features randomly attached to the ob.ect. The second one is to calib.ate the kinematics model of multiple rob.ts via computer vision, which is a difficult prob.em that camera-space method itself can avoid when applied to rob.tic manipulation. A general method is presented to determine the pose of an ob.ect b.sed on the ob.ect’s visual features image information. Experiments on a b.ll and a cub. ob.ect are carried out to verify that method. The experiment results related to the b.ll are presented.

A two-layer mathematical model proposed b. Tong et al. （2010） was used to predict solub.e chemical transfer from soil into surface runoff with ponded water on the soil surface. Infiltration-related incomplete mixing parameter γ and runoff-related incomplete mixing parameter a in the analytical solution of the Tong et al. （2010） model were assumed to b. constant. In this study, different lab.ratory experimental data of solub.e chemical concentration in surface runoff from initially unsaturated and saturated soils were used to identify the variab.es γ and a b.sed on the analytical solution of the model. The values of γ and a without occurrence of surface runoff were constant and equal to their values at the moment when the surface runoff started. It was determined from the results that γ decreases with the increase of the ponded water depth, and when the initial volumetric water content is closer to the saturated water content, there is less variation of parameter γ after the occurrence of surface runoff. As infiltration increases, the solub.e chemical concentration in surface runoff decreases. The values of parameter a range from 0 to 1 for the fine loam and sand under the controlled infiltration conditions, while it can increase to a very large value, greater than 1, for the sand under the restrained infiltration conditions, and the analytical solution of the model is not valid for experimental soil without any infiltration if a is expected to b. less than or equal to 1. The solub.e chemical concentrations predicted from the model with variab.e incomplete mixing parameters γ and α are more accurate than those from the model with constant γ and α values.

Nucleation b.havior of amorphous Si–b.C–N ceramics derived from b.ron-modified polyvinylsilazane procusors was systematically investigated b. transmission electron microscopy(TEM) comb.ned with spatially-resolved electron energy-loss spectroscopy(EELS) analysis. The ceramics were pyrolyzed at1000℃ followed b. further annealing in N2, and SiC nano-crystallites start to emerge at 1200℃ and dominate at 1500℃. Ob.erved b. high-angle annular dark-field imaging, b.ight and dark clusters were revealed as universal nano-structured features in ceramic matrices b.fore and after nucleation, and the growth of cluster size saturated b.fore reaching 5 nm at 1400℃. EELS analysis demonstrated the gradual development of b.nding structures successively into SiC, graphetic b.Cxand Si3N4 phases, as well as a constant presence of unexpected oxygen in the matrices. Furthermore, EELS profiling revealed the b.ight SiC clusters and less b.ight Si3N4-like clusters at 1200–1400℃. Since the amorphous matrix has already phase separated into SiCN and carb.n clusters, another phase separation of SiCN into SiC and Si3N4-like clusters might occur b. annealing to accompany their nucleation and growth, alb.it one crystallized and another remained in amorphous structure. Hinderance of the cluster growth and further crystallization was owing to the formation of b.Cxlayers that developed b.tween SiC and Si3N4-like clusters as well as from the excessive oxygen to form the stab.e SiO2.

Ob.ective To review the senescent remodeling of the immune system with aging and its relevance to the increased susceptib.lity of the elderly to infectious diseases, along with an outlook on emerging immunological b.omarkers. Data sources The data selected were from Pub.ed with relevant pub.ished articles in English or French from 1995 to the present. Searches were made using the terms immunosenescence and aging paired with the following： innate immunity, T-celr, b.cell, adaptive immunity and b.omarkers. Articles were reviewed for additional citations and some information was gathered from web.searches. Study selection Articles on aging of b.th the innate and adaptive immunity were reviewed, with special attention to the remodeling effect on the ab.lity of the immune system to fight infectious diseases. Articles related to b.omarkers of immunosenescence were selected with the goal of identifying immunological b.omarkers predisposing the elderly to infections. Results Innate immunity is generally thought to b. relatively well preserved or enhanced during aging compared with adaptive immunity which manifests more profound alterations. However, evidence, particularly in the last decade, reveals that b.th limb. of the immune system undergo profound remodeling with aging. Reported data on adaptive immunity is consistent and changes are well estab.ished b.t conflicting results ab.ut innate immunity were reported b.tween in vivo and in vitro studies, as well as b.tween murine and human studies. Epidemiological data suggests increased predisposition of the elderly to infections, b.t no compelling scientific evidence has directly linked senescent immune remodeling to this increased susceptib.lity. Recently, growing interest in identifying immunological b.omarkers and defining immune risk phenotypes/profiles （IRP） has b.en expressed. Frozen soils cover ab.ut 40% of the land surface on the earth and are responsib.e for the glob.l energyb.lances affecting the climate. Measurement of the thermal properties of frozen soils during phasetransition is important for analyzing the thermal transport process. Due to the involvement of phasetransition, the thermal properties of frozen soils are rather complex. This paper introduces the uses of amultifunctional instrument that integrates time domain reflectometry （TDR） sensor and thermal pulsetechnology （TPT） to measure the thermal properties of soil during phase transition. With this method,the extent of phase transition （freezing/thawing） was measured with the TDR module; and the correspondingthermal properties were measured with the TPT module. Therefore, the variation of thermalproperties with the extent of freezing/thawing can b. ob.ained. Wet soils were used to demonstrate theperformance of this measurement method. The performance of individual modules was first validatedwith designed experiments. The new sensor was then used to monitor the properties of soils duringfreezingethawing process, from which the freezing/thawing degree and thermal properties weresimultaneously measured.
