Chronic cerebral hypoperfusion can cause progressive demyelination as well as ischemic vascular dementia,however no effective treatments are ***,based on magnetic resonance imaging studies of patients with white matter damage,we found that this damage is associated with disorganized cortical *** a mouse model,optogenetic activation of glutamatergic neurons in the somatosensory cortex significantly promoted oligodendrocyte progenitor cell(OPC)proliferation,remyelination in the corpus callosum,and recovery of cognitive ability after cerebral *** therapeutic effect of such stimulation was restricted to the upper layers of the cortex,but also spanned a wide time window after ***,enhancement of glutamatergic neuron-OPC functional synaptic connections is required to achieve the protection effect of activating cortical glutamatergic ***,skin stroking,an easier method to translate into clinical practice,activated the somatosensory cortex,thereby promoting OPC proliferation,remyelination and cognitive recovery following cerebral *** summary,we demonstrated that activating glutamatergic neurons in the somatosensory cortex promotes the proliferation of OPCs and remyelination to recover cognitive function after chronic cerebral *** should be noted that this activation may provide new approaches for treating ischemic vascular dementia via the precise regulation of glutamatergic neuron-OPC circuits.

According to Biot′s wave equation of transversely isotropic saturated soil, this paper deduces the general equation of the reflection coefficients and transmission coefficients when qP 1 wave goes through from saturated soil to elastic media. The effects of anisotropies and boundary drainage condition on reflection coefficients and transmission coefficients are analyzed by numerical method. The idea of this paper can be applied to the case when qSV wave or qP 2 wave goes through from saturated soils to elastic soils.

In this editorial,we comment on the article by liu et *** on our analysis of a case report,we consider that early screening and recognition of primary nasal tuberculosis are crucial for patients undergoing treatment with tumor necrosis factor inhibitor(TNFi).While TNFi therapy increases the risk of reactivating latent tuberculosis,primary nasal tuberculosis remains rare due to the protective mechanisms of the nasal *** factors for primary nasal tuberculosis include minimally invasive nasal surgery,diabetes,and human immunodefi ciency *** with early symptoms such as nasal congestion,rhinorrhea,altered olfaction,epistaxis,or ulceration,and unresponsive to conventional antibiotics and antihistamines should undergo early rhinoscopy,possibly followed by repeated tissue biopsies and acid-fast bacilli culture when *** diagnosis is challenging,it is essential to consider local tuberculosis epidemiology and the efficacy of diagnostic antituberculosis *** preferred method for tuberculosis screening is the Interferon Gamma Release Assay,with a general recommendation for screening at 3 and 6 months after initial treatment and then every six ***,the optimal frequency is not yet consensus-driven and may be increased in economically viable settings.

Owing to their exceptional properties, high-entropy alloys(HEAs) and high-entropy materials have emerged as promising research areas and shown diverse applications. Here,the recent advances in the field are comprehensively reviewed,organized into five sections. The first section introduces the background of HEAs, covering their definition, significance,application prospects, basic properties, design principles, and microstructure. The subsequent section focuses on cutting-edge high-entropy structural materials, highlighting developments such as nanostructured alloys, grain boundary engineering,eutectic systems, cryogenic alloys, thin films, micro-nano-lattice structures, additive manufacturing, high entropy metallic glasses, nano-precipitate strengthened alloys, composition modulation, alloy fibers, and refractory systems. In the following section, the emphasis shifts to functional materials, exploring HEAs as catalysts, magneto-caloric materials, corrosion-resistant alloys, radiation-resistant alloys, hydrogen storage systems, and materials for biomedicine. Additionally, the review encompasses functional high-entropy materials outside the realm of alloys, including thermoelectric, quantum dots, nanooxide catalysts, energy storage materials, negative thermal expansion ceramics,and high-entropy wave absorption materials. The paper concludes with an outlook, discussing future directions and potential growth areas in the field. Through this comprehensive review,researchers, engineers, and scientists may gain valuable insights into the recent progress and opportunities for further exploration in the exciting domains of high-entropy alloys and functional materials.

Visual recognition memory is related to basic expression level of NMDA receptor NR1/NR2B subtype in hippocampus and striatum of rats

Aim:To examine the basic expression levels of N-methyl-D-aspartate(NMDA)receptor NR 1 and NR2B subunits in six brain regions of Sprague-Dawley(SD)ratswith different visual recognition ***:Rats were tested by a novel-object-recognition model and grouped into the high and the low visual recogni-tion memory *** expression levels of NR1 and NR2B subunits in thecortex,hippocampus,striatum,amygdala,diencephalon,and olfactory bulb weremeasured by semiquantitative ***:The NR1 and NR2Bsubunit protein levels in the hippocampus of the high visual recognition memorygroup were 35.9%(P<0.01)and 53.4%(P<0.05)higher respectively than those inthe low *** addition,the NR2B level in the striatum in the high visualrecognition memory group was 25.0%(P<0.05)higher than that in the low ***,no significant difference was found in the levels of the subunits be-tween the two groups in other brain ***:The visual recognitionmemory in rats is related to the basic expression level of NMDA receptor NR1/NR2B subtype in the hippocampus and striatum.
