Wound healing is one of the major global health concerns in patients with diabetes.Overactivation of pro-inflammatory M1 macrophages is associated with delayed wound healing in diabetes.miR-29ab1 plays a critical role in diabetes-related macrophage inflammation.Hence,inhibition of inflammation and regulation of miR-29 expression have been implicated as new points for skin wound healing.In this study,the traditional Chinese medicine,puerarin,was introduced to construct an injectable and self-healing chitosan@puerarin(C@P)hydrogel.The C@P hydrogel promoted diabetic wound healing and accelerated angiogenesis,which were related to the inhibition of the miR-29 mediated inflammation response.Compared to healthy subjects,miR-29a and miR-29b1 were ectopically increased in the skin wound of the diabetic model,accompanied by upregulated M1-polarization,and elevated levels of IL-1βand TNF-α.Further evaluations by miR-29ab1 knockout mice exhibited superior wound healing and attenuated inflammation.The present results suggested that miR-29ab1 is essential for diabetic wound healing by regulating the inflammatory response.Suppression of miR-29ab1 by the C@P hydrogel has the potential for improving medical approaches for wound repair.

It is important to eliminate lipopolysaccharide(LPS)along with killing bacteria in periprosthetic joint infection(PJI)therapy for promoting bone repair due to its effect to regulate macrophages response.Although natural antimicrobial peptides(AMPs)offer a good solution,the unknown toxicity,high cost and exogenetic immune response hamper their applications in clinic.In this work,we fabricated a nanowire-like composite material,named P@C,by combining chitosan and puerarin via solid-phase reaction,which can finely mimic the bio-functions of AMPs.Chitosan,serving as the bacteria membrane puncture agent,and puerarin,serving as the LPS target agent,synergistically destroy the bacterial membrane structure and inhibit its recovery,thus endowing P@C with good antibacterial property.In addition,P@C possesses good osteoimmunomodulation due to its ability of LPS elimination and macrophage differentiation modulation.The in vivo results show that P@C can inhibit the LPS induced bone destruction in the Escherichia coli infected rat.P@C exhibits superior bone regeneration in Escherichia coli infected rat due to the comprehensive functions of its superior antibacterial property,and its ability of LPS elimination and immunomodulation.P@C can well mimic the functions of AMPs,which provides a novel and effective method for treating the PJI in clinic.

Soybean(Glycine max L.)is a typical photoperiodsensitive crop,such that photoperiod determines its flowering time,maturity,grain yield,and phenological adaptability.During evolution,the soybean genome has undergone two duplication events,resulting in about 75%of all genes being represented by multiple copies,which is associated with rampant gene redundancy.Among duplicated genes,the important soybean maturity gene E2 has two homologs,E2-Like a(E2La)and E2-Like b(E2Lb),which encode orthologs of Arabidopsis GIGANTEA(GI).Although E2 was cloned a decade ago,we still know very little about its contribution to flowering time and even less about the function of its homologs.Here,we generated single and double mutants in E2,E2La,and E2Lb by genome editing and determined that E2 plays major roles in the regulation of flowering time and yield,with the two E2 homologs depending on E2 function.At high latitude regions,e2 single mutants showed earlier flowering and high grain yield.Remarkably,in terms of genetic relationship,genes from the legume-specific transcription factor family E1 were epistatic to E2.We established that E2 and E2-like proteins form homodimers or heterodimers to regulate the transcription of E1 family genes,with the homodimer exerting a greater function than the heterodimers.In addition,we established that the H3 haplotype of E2 is the ancestral allele and is mainly restricted to low latitude regions,from which the loss-of-function alleles of the H1 and H2haplotypes were derived.Furthermore,we demonstrated that the function of the H3 allele is stronger than that of the H1 haplotype in the regulation of flowering time,which has not been shown before.Our findings provide excellent allelic combinations for classical breeding and targeted gene disruption or editing.

随着计算机和数字化技术的发展,运用计算机辅助技术已成为口腔种植领域的新趋势。计算机引导口腔种植手术比传统种植手术具有更安全、更精确等优势,能真正实现以修复为导向的种植理念。但计算机引导口腔种植手术也由于步骤繁多而导致种植偏差步步累积,部分临床医师对其精度仍持有怀疑态度。由于目前尚未形成计算机引导口腔种植精度的量化评价体系,对于各步骤产生的种植偏差仍处于研究和争议阶段,未有定论。本文旨在对计算机引导口腔种植的优势与缺陷、研究进展、精度及其影响因素等进行总结,以期为提升种植精度、指导临床设计和手术提供参考。

Effects of Gua Sha therapy on weightlifting training: a randomized trial

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect of Gua Sha therapy on weightlifting training.METHODS: The sample size was calculated by conducting a pilot study. A total of 44 male weightlifters were randomly assigned to either the Gua Sha group(n = 15), sham scraping group(n = 14), or control group(n = 14). The participants in the Gua Sha group and sham scraping group received 16 sessions of Gua Sha therapy during normal weightlifting training for 8 weeks. No treatment was applied to participants in the control group. The effectiveness of Gua Sha therapy was evaluated by measuring weightlifting ability, the rating of perceived exertion(RPE) of snatch and clean and jerk(85% of1 repetition maximum), and creatinine kinase(CK),blood urea nitrogen(BUN), and immunoglobulin A levels.RESULTS: Gua Sha therapy treatment significantly increased weightlifting ability in participants in the Gua Sha group(P < 0.01). The RPE values of snatch and clean and jerk were significantly lower in the Gua Sha group and sham scraping groups compared with the control group(P < 0.05). CK levels were lower and immunoglobulin A levels were significantly higher in the Gua Sha group compared with sham scraping group and control group(both P < 0.05). BUN levels tended to be reduced only in the Gua Sha group. A close correlation between CK levels and the RPE was found in the Gua Sha group.CONCLUSION: Gua Sha therapy can facilitate weightlifting ability, reduce the RPE, and inhibit muscle injury by promoting recovery from fatigue caused by normal weightlifting training. Gua Sha therapy could be an effective treatment to complement normal weightlifting training.

Emission factors of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons from domestic coal combustion in China

Domestic coal stove is widely used in China, especially for countryside during heating period of winter, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons （PAHs） are important in flue gas of the stove. By using dilution tunnel system, samples of both gaseous and particulate phases from domestic coal combustion were collected and 18 PAH species were analyzed by GC-MS. The average emission factors of total 18 PAH species was 171.73 mg/kg, ranging from 140.75 to 229.11 mg/kg for bituminous coals, while was 93.98 mg/kg, ranging from 58.48 to 129.47 mg/kg for anthracite coals. PAHs in gaseous phases occupied 95% of the total of PAHs emission of coal combustion. In particulate phase, 3-ring and 4- ring PAHs were the main components, accounting for 80% of the total particulate PAHs. The total toxicity potency evaluated by benzo[a]pyrene-equivalent carcinogenic power, sum of 7 carcinogenic PAH components and 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzodioxin had a similar tendency. And as a result, the toxic potential of bituminous coal was higher than that of anthracite coal. Efficient emission control should be conducted to reduce PAH emissions in order to protect ecosystem and human health.

Patients with small-cell lung cancer (SCLC) relapse within months after completing previous therapies. This study aimed to investigate the efficacy and safety of anlotinib as third- or further-line therapy in patients with short-term relapsed SCLC from ALTER1202. Patients with short-term relapsed SCLC (disease progression within 3 months after completing ≥ two lines of chemotherapy) in the anlotinib (n = 67) and placebo (n = 34) groups were analyzed. The primary endpoint was progression-free survival (PFS). The secondary endpoints included overall survival, objective response rate (ORR), disease control rate, and safety. Anlotinib significantly improved median PFS/OS (4.0 vs. 0.7 months, P < 0.0001)/(7.3 vs. 4.4 months, P = 0.006) compared with placebo. The ORR was 4.5%/2.9% in the anlotinib/placebo group (P = 1.000). The DCR in the anlotinib group was higher than that in the placebo group (73.1% vs. 11.8%, P < 0.001). The most common adverse events (AEs) were hypertension (38.8%), loss of appetite (28.4%), and fatigue (22.4%) in the anlotinib group and gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase elevation (20.6%) in the placebo group. No grade 5 AEs occurred. For patients with short-term relapsed SCLC, third- or further-line anlotinib treatment was associated with improved survival benefit. Further studies are warranted in this regard.

Ti-based alloys have been widely applied in the aerospace field,owing to their outstanding performance.Precision casting can be used to make integrated near-net-shape components with complex thin-walled structures,which will further promote the engineering application of Ti-based alloys. In this paper,the research progress of Tibased alloys,e. g.,high-temperature Ti-based alloys,high-strength Ti-based alloys,TiAl-based alloys,Ti-based matrix composites,and their precision casting technologies are reviewed. In addition,the development directions of Tibased alloys are presented based on the application status of Ti-based alloys in the aerospace field.

Cigarette smoking contributes to idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis associated with emphysema

Background Combined emphysema and pulmonary fibrosis,including idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis （IPF）,is a distinct disorder described with upper-lobe emphysema and lower-lobe fibrosis on chest computed tomography.Smoking appears to be the predominant risk factor for this disorder.We aimed to compare clinical features,smoking history,physiological and radiological findings between IPF with and without emphysema.Methods A sample of 125 IPF patients over a period of 48 months were evaluated.High resolution CT scans were reviewed blinded to clinical data.The IPF patients with or without emphysema were classified accordingly.Results The prevalence of emphysema in this IPF sample was 70/125.IPF with emphysema was significantly associated with smoking status （OR 63; 95％ CI 4.4 to 915; P=0.002） and smoking pack year （OR 1.1; 95％ CI 1.05 to 1.13; P=-0.000）.The patients with IPF and emphysema had a higher decrease in carbon monoxide diffusing capacity adjusted for alveolar volume （（58±19）％ pred vs.（66：±：21）％ pred; P=-0.021） and a higher prevalence of pulmonary hypertension （24/70 vs.7/55; P=0.006）.The two groups of patients had similar forced and residual volumes.No significant differences were found in cell differentials of bronchoalveolar lavage or the scores of fibrosis on chest CT.Survival of the patients with emphysema was significantly less than that of patients with IPF alone.Conclusions Cigarette smoking induces IPF combined with emphysema.Emphysema further impairs physiological function and increases the prevalence of pulmonary hypertension that leads to poor prognosis.The inclusion of the patients with combined pulmonary fibrosis and emphysema in IPF clinical trials may lead to under evaluation of the effect of treatment in patients.
