AiM:To investigate the impact of lag time to metastasis and survival rates among patients with ***:This retrospective study was conducted with 52 patients from the Department of Ophthalmology and the Department of Pediatrics of *** General Hospital,between 1^(st) January 2014 and 31^(st) December *** time was defined as the time delay between the first sign of retinoblastoma to the diagnosis of *** subjects with lag time>one year were included in the case group,while the subjects with lag timeincluded in the control ***:The lag time was significantly correlated with American Joint Committee on Cancer and intraocular Classification of Retinoblastoma staging of retinoblastoma(P=0.005 and P=0.006,respectively).The lag time was also significantly correlated with both metastasis event[odds ratio(OR):5.06,95%Cl:1.56-16.44,P=0.006]and mortality(OR:4.54,95%Cl:1.37-15.07,P=0.011).The follow-up was continued for 32 subjects for 3y after initial *** analysis revealed a significant difference among these two groups(P=0.021).Furthermore,lag time was significantly correlated with survival of retinoblastoma(r=-0.53,P=0.046).CONCLUSiON:The study highlights the importance of lag time between the onset of first symptoms and the time of retinoblastoma diagnosis which significantly contribute to metastasis and mortality of patients with *** for the early detection of retinoblastoma should be performed for individuals at-risk to minimize lag time and improve the outcomes.

Recently many research works have been conducted and published regarding fractional order differential equations. There are several approaches available for numerical approximations of the solution of fractional order diffusion equations. Spectral collocation method based on Lagrange’s basis polynomials to approximate numerical solutions of one-dimensional (1D) space fractional diffusion equations are introduced in this research paper. The proposed form of approximate solution satisfies non-zero Dirichlet’s boundary conditions on both boundaries. Collocation scheme produce a system of first order Ordinary Differential Equations (ODE) from the fractional diffusion equation. We applied this method with four different sets of collocation points to compare their performance.

Among the technological tests, the Erichsen drawing test gives a more appropriate material behavior, near the limit of the real manufactured process. in this paper an inverse finite element analysis of the Erichsen test is proposed. The new idea is to use a numerical simulation of the experimental test for the rheological identification of the constitutive equations available for sheet metals alloys. The inverse analysis is based on a robust optimization algorithm and uses simultaneously the experimental test data and the corresponding numerical one. A numerical inverse analysis software named OPTPAR was developed and improved for an automatically coupling with a commercial finite element code charged to simulate the experimental test. Results obtained for a virtual steel alloy will be analyzed numerically in order to validate the finite element model and the identification method. An application to an AA5182 aluminum alloy and a DC03 steel alloy will be presented.

AiM： To investigate the expression of cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors p21 and p27 in gastric well differentiated endocrine tumors （GWDET）（ECLocell carcinoids）.METHODS： The expressions of p21 and p27 were examined immunhistochemically in endoscopic biopsy specimens from 16 patients matching the diagnostic criteria of GWDET. Percentage of positive nuclear staining either weak or strong was noted. The association of immunoexpressions with age, gender, tumor localization, multifocality and accompanying chronic atrophic gastritis, neuroendocrine cell hyperplasia （NEH）, neuroendocrine dysplasia （NED）, intestinal metaplasia （iM）, Ki-67 proliferation index and clinical outcome were also ***： All cases expressed p27 with a mean expression score of 43.6%, while 31.3% of the cases showed any p21 expression, p21 and p27 immunoexpressions were significantly correlated with each other （P 〈 0.01）, and the p21-expressing group had higher p27 expression scores （68% vs 22%）. p21 and p27 expressions were lower in women, in non-atrophic mucosa and cases whose tumors were located somewhere other than fundus without submucosal extension. On contrary, p21 and p27 expressions were higher in males and the patients with submucosal extension and atrophic gastritis. Cases presenting lower p27 scores had solitary tumors showing neither NEH-NED nor iM. Despite, cases with lower p21 expression presented multifocal tumors accompanied by NEH-NED. However, no correlation of p21 and p27 expressions was found with age and Ki-67 ***： p27 is widely expressed in GWDETs, while p21 expression is sparse and observed in two thirds of the cases. Loss of p21 and p27 expressions may be correlated with different carcinoid tumor subtypes; however,more studies are needed to assess the role of these prospective markers in gastrointestinal endocrine tumors.

We present ultrasound, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging findings in a case with pancreatic solid pseudopapillary tumor and their correlations with histopathology. Ultrasound revealed a hypoechogenic mass, and computed tomography revealed a hypodense mass at the pancreatic head minimally enhanced after intravenous contrast agent administration. Magnetic resonance imaging showed a hypointense mass on unenhanced Tl-weighted images including a hyperintense focus representing the hemorrhage. The lesion was hyperintense on T2- weighted images. On the postcontrast images the lesion showed peripheral thin contrast enhancement in arterial phase and enhanced slightly diffusely in venous and equilibrium phases. The patient underwent elective resection of the mass and pancreatoduodenectomy with jejunostomy tube placement. A final diagnosis of solid pseudopapillary tumor was made histoPathologically. Solid pseudopapillary tumor is a rare pancreatic tumor. it is important to make the diagnosis preoperatively because with an adequate surgical resection the prognosis is good. A multimodalitary approach, especially magnetic resonance imaging can suggest the diagnosis without the need for biopsy.

The absorption of sound in the low frequency range is problematic with fibrous materials made up of coarser fibers. in that case, highly efficient sound absorption materials from much finer fibers must be developed. Although studies on the acoustic properties of conventional textile materials started in the nineties, analysis of the acoustic properties of the electrospun nanofibrous membranes is a novel subject. Nanofibrous membranes can improve acoustic insulation products by increasing the sound absorption coefficient, reducing material thickness, and decreasing material weight offering a competitive advantage. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of fiber diameter on the acoustic behavior of nanofibrous membranes.

Chong-Chet Anterior Scoring Technique for the Correction of Prominent Ears: Results in 30 Patients

A lot ofotoplasty techniques have been developed during the past years. However, there is no single perfect technique which is worldwide accepted. We present our assessment of a Chong-Chet anterior scoring technique for the correction of prominent ears which we applied in 30 patients between 2005 and 2010. This study is a report of creating a natural fold of cartilage using Chong-Chet anterior scoring technique by cartilage incision at the border between the antihelix and scapha, with medial scoring of the scapha and lateral scoring of the antihelix. Sutures were used to maintain the created fold. There were no major complications at the 1-year follow-up evaluation. None of the patients developed a recurrence, or retro protrusion of the helix which required a second operation for correction. The procedure is a simple surgical technique. The reconstructed ear shows reliable results in stability, size and normal convolutions. Furthermore, sharp cartilaginous ridges and hidden helix are avoided.

Objective: To examine the efficacy of gabapentin for the treatment of behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD). Design: A retrospective chart review. Settings: Tertiary care geriatric psychiatry inpatient unit. Participants: 230 patients with BPSD. Measurements: The socio-demographic information, type of behaviors, co-morbid psychiatric and medical diagnoses, daily doses of medications and side-effects were recorded. Results: Of the 230 patients, 22 were treated with gabapentin. Twenty of these patients were on a combination of gabapentin and an antipsychotic medication while two patients were treated with gabapentin monotherapy. Eighteen of the 20 patients in the combination group tolerated the treatments with little or no side effects as did the two patients in the monotherapy group. Conclusions: Gabapentin may be a safe option for the treatment of BPSD in combination with antipsychotic medications. Gabapentin may also be effective as monotherapy in certain patients with BPSD.

Clinical Research on Efficacy of Cassia Twig Tuckahoe Capsule and Mifepristone Combined with Laparoscopic Surgery for the Treatment of Endometriosis

Objective: To compare the clinical efficacy of Cassia Twig Tuckahoe capsule (Chinese Medicine) and Mifepristone combined with laparoscopic surgery for the treatment of endometriosis. Designs: Prospective cohort study. Setting: Gynecology and Obstetrics Department, Jingzhou Central Hospital, affiliated to Yangtze University. Methods: We selected 67 patients suspected with endometriosis and divided randomly into 2 groups on patient choice. Outcome Measures: Treatment efficacy, side effects, recurrence rate and pregnancy rate. Results: Comparing the effect of treatment between the two groups, the success rate was almost same (P > 0.5). However, the disappearance of pain was faster in Cassia twig Tuckahoe group (P Conclusion: After analysis of the result, Cassia twig Tuckahoe capsule combined with Laparoscopy is superior to the Mifepristone combined with Laparoscopy. Cassia twig Tuckahoe capsule is a very propitious medicine for treating endometriosis for long term benefits.
