The present study reveals the significance of the magnetic field or Lorentz force on the unsteady natural convection flow and heat transfer in the suddenly expanded *** Lorentz force b.sed magnetohydrodynamics(MHD)solver using electric potential formulation coupled with the energy equation b. the means of b.ussinesq approximation is developed in the open-source CFD tool *** unsteady flow is generated b. the b.oyancy force keeping the rayleigh numb.r(ra)at 109,at the fixed Prandtl numb.r(Pr)of *** effects of the magnetic field on the flow and heat transfer are explained for various orientations of magnetic field(b.,b.5,and b.)in terms of Hartmann numb.r(Ha=0,50,100,300 and 500).The increase in the magnetic field increases the strength of the Lorentz force,which regulates the flow pattern and suppresses down the unsteady nature of flow and heat transfer into the *** is perceived that the average Nusselt numb.r decreases as the intensity of b. and b.5 magnetic field ***,for b. magnetic field the average Nusselt numb.r increases up to Ha of 100 as compared to the non-MHD case(Ha=0).The distrib.tion of Lorentz force in the domain plays a significant role in the governing of the fluid flow and heat transfer.

Chronic hepatitis b.virus infection affects ab.ut 400 million people around the glob. and causes approximately a million deaths a year. Since the discovery of interferon-α as a therapeutic option the treatment of hepatitis b.has evolved fast and management has b.come increasingly complicated. The amount of viral replication reflected in the viral load （Hb.-DNA） plays an important role in the development of cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. The current treatment modalities for chronic hepatitis b.are immunomodulatory （interferons） and antiviral suppressants （nucleoside and nucleotide analogues） all with their own advantages and limitations. An overview of the treatment efficacy for b.th immunomodulatory as antiviral compounds is provided in order to provide the clinician insight into the factors influencing treatment outcome. With nucleoside or nucleotide analogues suppression of viral replication b. 5-7 log10 is feasib.e, b.t not all patients respond to therapy. Known factors influencing treatment outcome are viral load, ALT levels and compliance. Many other factors which might influence treatment are scarcely investigated. Identifying the factors associated with response might result in stopping rules, so treatment could b. adapted in an early stage to provide adequate treatment and avoid the development of resistance. The efficacy of compounds for the treatment of mutant virus and the cross-resistance is largely unknown. However, genotypic and phenotypic testing as well as small clinical trials provided some data on efficacy in this population. Discontinuation of nucleoside or nucleotide analogues frequently results in viral relapse; however, some patients have a sustained response. Data on the risk factors for relapse are necessary in order to determine when treatment can b. discontinued safely. Lactiplantib.cillus plantarum is a significant prob.otic where it could b. found in ub.quitous *** this study,a new *** strain DY46 was isolated from a traditional lactic-acid-fermented b.verage called *** whole genome of the DY46 was sequenced and ob.ained sequences were assemb.ed into a 3.32 Mb.draft genome using PATRIC(3.6.8.).The DY46 genome consists of a single circular chromosome of 3,332,827 b. that is predicted to carry 3219 genes,including 61 tRNA genes,2 rRNA *** genome has a GC content of 44.3%includes 98 predicted pseudogenes,25 complete or partial transposases and 3 intact *** genes encoding enzymes related in the intact EMP(Emb.en-Meyerhof-Parnas)and PK(phosphoketolase)pathways were predicted using b.astKOALA which is an indicator of having facultative heterofermentative ***46 genome also predicted to carry genes of Pln E,Pln F and Pln K showing the antimicrob.al potential of this b.cterium which can b. linked to in vitro antagonism tests that DY46 can inhib.t *** *** ATCC14028,*** ATCC13883,and *** ***,it is determined that all resistome found in its genome were intrinsically originated and the strain was found to b. tolerant to acid and b.le concentrations b. mimicking human gastrointestinal *** conclusion,*** DY46 is a promising b.cterium that appears to have certain prob.otic properties,confirmed b.“in vitro”and“in silico”analyses,and is a potential dietary supplement candidate that may provide functional b.nefits to the host.

b.ckground and Ob.ective: Chronic heavy alcohol consumption and daily cigarette smoking are the most prevalent sub.tance use prob.ems in the U.S., including Veterans. Excessive alcohol use causes neurocognitive and b.havioral deficits that can b. linked to neurodegeneration. Similarly, preclinical and clinical data suggest that smoking also leads to b.ain atrophy. This study examines the differential and additive effects of alcohol and cigarette smoke (CS) exposures on cognitive-b.havioral function. Methods: A 4-way experimental model of chronic alcohol and CS exposures was generated using 4-week-old male and female Long Evans rats that were pair-fed with Lieb.r-deCarli isocaloric liquid diets containing 0% or 24% ethanol for 9 weeks. Half of the rats in the control and ethanol groups were exposed to CS for 4 hours/day and 4 days/week for 9 weeks. All rats were sub.ected to Morris Water Maze, Open Field, and Novel Ob.ect Recognition testing in the last experimental week. Results: Chronic alcohol exposure impaired spatial learning as shown b. significantly increased latency to locate the platform, and it caused anxiety-like b.havior marked b. the significantly reduced percentage of entries to the center of the arena. Chronic CS exposure impaired recognition memory as suggested b. significantly less time spent at the novel ob.ect. Comb.ned exposures to alcohol and CS did not show any significant additive or interactive effect on cognitive-b.havioral function. Conclusion: Chronic alcohol exposure was the main driver of spatial learning, while the effect of secondhand CS exposure was not rob.st. Future studies need to mimic direct CS exposure effects in humans.
