The GC-Ion Trap m. is recently one of the m.st efficient instrum.ntal analysis recom.ended for understanding the chem.stry of these organic com.ounds, not only in water b.t even in the food chain and other environm.ntal m.dia (air and soil). Results of the experim.nt conducted on water sam.les from.Kuguri and Yatsutani sam.ling stations showed considerab.y higher levels of organic enrichm.nt (COD=10 m./L and 11 m./L respectively). Total concentrations of Pb.(0.072 m./L and 0.093 m./L) and Cd (0.004 m./Land 0.011 m./L) on the other hand, invariab.y exceeded the m.xim.m.allowab.e concentrations for hum.n health and the living environm.nt (Pb.0.005 m./L; Cd=0.001 m./L respectively). And the toxicity levels for these contam.nants at LC_50 showed critical im.act on rainb.w trout (hypersensitive species) at 0.14 m./L for Pb.and 0.007 m./L for Cd in 96 hours respectively. Although these m.jor contam.nants including phenol and 3-, 4-cresol, showed relatively higher toxicity im.act in the experim.ntal m.dia, it would rem.in contentious to justify any associated potential dangers without regular routine water m.nitoring, at least for a period of one year. Nevertheless, the data could serve as a b.nchm.rk through which other phenom.na can easily b. investigated.

Optical im.ging plays an im.ortant role in b.om.dical research b.ing extrem.ly useful for early detection, screening and im.ge-guided therapy. Lanthanide-doped up-converting nanoparticles were ideally suited for b.oim.ging b.cause they could b. ex- cited in near infrared （NIR） and em.t in NIR or visib.e （VIS）. Here, we com.ared lanthanide doped up-converting NaYF4 and organic fluorophores for application in deep-tissue im.ging. For that purpose - tissue phantom. m.m.cking the natural properties of light scat- tering b. living tissues were prepared. The studies allowed to quantitatively com.are optical resolution of different fluorescent com. pounds, revealing that the NIR photoexcitation was favorab.e over conventional UV photoexcitation.

The droplet form.tion dynam.cs of a Newtonian liquid in a drop-on-dem.nd (DOD) inkjet process is num.rically investigated b. using a volum.-of-fluid (VOF) m.thod. We focus on the nozzle geom.try, wettab.lity of the interior surface, and the fluid properties to achieve the stab.e droplet form.tion with higher velocity. It is found that a nozzle with contracting angle of 45° generates the m.st stab.e and fastest single droplet, which is b.neficial for the enhanced printing quality and high-throughput printing rate. For this nozzle with the optim.l geom.try, we system.tically change the wettab.lity of the interior surface, i.e., different contact angles. As the contact angle increases, pinch-off tim. increases and the droplet speed reduces. Finally, fluids with different properties are investigated to identify the printab.lity range.

m.WO_(4)/WO_(3) p-n heterojunction film. were fab.icated using a one-step m.thod consisting of the plasm. electrolytic oxidation(PEO)of titanium.in hom.geneous electrolytes containing paratungstate ions and stab.e watersolub.e EDTA-chelated *** influences of the form.tion current density and W:m. m.lar ratio of the electrolyte,which was varied from.1:2 to 2:1,on the com.osition,m.rphology,and optical and photocatalytic properties of the resulting coatings were studied.X-ray diffraction analysis,scanning electron m.croscopy,energy dispersive X-ray analysis,Ram.n spectroscopy,and ultraviolet diffuse reflectance spectroscopy were used to characterize the form.d *** of the W:m. ratio of the electrolyte,the coatings contained crystalline t-WO_(3) and m.m.WO_(4).Depending on the form.tion conditions,the optical b.nd gap energies of the com.osites varied from.2.63 to 3.01 *** largest ab.orption red shift and lowest b.nd gap energy were ob.erved in the film.com.osite form.d in an electrolyte with W:m.=2:1,at a current density of 0.2 A cm.(−2).Com.osites ob.ained in electrolytes with W:m. ratios of 2:1 and 1:1 exhib.ted photocatalytic activity in the degradation of rhodam.ne C and m.thyl orange dyes in the presence of 10 m.ol L^(–1) H2O_(2) under ultraviolet and visib.e light *** role of hydrogen peroxide in this dye degradation on PEO-coated com.osites under light irradiation is discussed.

In order to im.rove the m.chanical properties of polypyrrole, com.osites were m.de b. electropolym.rizing polypyrrole in a polyurethane m.trix. Polypyrrole/polyurethane (PPY/PU) com.osite film. containing CLO_4^-, b._4^- or CH_3-C_6H_4-SO_3^- counter ions were m.de in a variety of solvent system. and characterized b. SEm. electronic conductivity, FTIR, and m.chanical properties. Com.osite film. showing m.ch greater fiexib.lity than pure polypyrrole were ob.ained, b.t their electronic conductivities were sub.tantially lower. m.asured eonductivities ranged from.0.001 to 8 S/cm. tensile strengths from.44 to 592 psi, and elongation to failure from.3 to 70%.
