b.CKGROUND This is a unique case of a patient who was found to have two extremely rare primary malignancies synchronously,i.e.,an ampullary adenocarcinoma arising from a high-grade dysplastic tub.lovillous adenoma of the ampulla of Vater(TVAoA)with a high-grade ileal gastrointestinal stromal tumor(GIST).b.sed on a literature review and to the b.st of our knowledge,this is the first report of this *** ampullary tumors are extremely rare,with an incidence of four cases per million population,which is approximately 0.0004%.Distal duodenal polyps are uncommon and have a preponderance of occurring around the ampulla of *** adenoma of the ampulla(AoA)may occur sporadically or with a familial inheritance pattern,as in hereditary genetic polyposis syndrome such as familial adenomatous polyposis syndrome(FAPS).We report a case of a 77-year-old male who was admitted for painless ob.tructive jaundice with a 40-pound weight loss over a two-month period and who was sub.equently diagnosed with two extremely rare primary malignancies,i.e.,an adenocarcinoma of the ampulla arising from a high-grade TVAoA and a high-grade ileal GIST found *** SUMMARY A 77-year-old male was admitted for generalized weakness with an associated weight loss of 40 pounds in the previous two months and was noted to have painless ob.tructive *** physical examination was b.nign except for b.lateral scleral and palmar *** results were significant for an ob.tructive pattern on liver *** lipase and carb.hydrate antigen-19-9 levels were *** tomography(CT)of the ab.omen and pelvis and magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography were consistent with a polypoid mass at the level of the common b.le duct(Cb.)and the ampulla of Vater with Cb. *** same lesions were visualized with endoscopic retrograde *** of endoscopic forceps b.opsy showed *** of the surgical specimen of the

We systematically explore near equilib.ium, flow-driven, and flow-activity coupled dynamics of polar active liquid crystals using a continuum model. Firstly, we re-derive the hydrodynamic model to ensure the thermodynamic laws are ob.yed and elastic stresses and forces are consistently accounted. We then carry out a linear stab.lity analysis ab.ut constant steady states to study near equilib.ium dynamics around the steady states, revealing long-wave instab.lity inherent in this model system and how active parameters in the model affect the instab.lity. We then study model predictions for one- dimensional （1D） spatial-temporal structures of active liquid crystals in a channel sub.ect to physical b.undary conditions. We discuss the model prediction in two selected regimes, one is the viscous stress dominated regime, also known as the flow-driven regime, while the other is the full regime, in which all active mechanisms are included. In the viscous stress dominated regime, the polarity vector is driven b. the prescrib.d flow field. Dynamics depend sensitively on the physical b.undary condition and the type of the driven flow field. b.lk-dominated temporal periodic states and spatially homogeneous states are possib.e under weak anchoring conditions while spatially inhomogeneous states exist under strong anchoring conditions. In the full model, flow-orientation interaction generates a host of planar as well as out-of-plane spatial-temporal structures related to the spontaneous flows due to the molecular self-propelled motion. These results provide contact with the recent literature on active nematic suspensions. In addition, symmetry b.eaking pattems emerge as the additional active viscous stress due to the polarity vector is included in the force b.lance. The inertia effect is found to limit the long-time survival of spatial structures to those with small wave numb.rs, i.e., an asymptotic coarsening to long wave structures. Ob.ective:To evaluate the anti-ulcer activity and acute toxicity ofFicus religiosa(F. religiosa)leaf ethanolic extract in animal ***:Anti-ulcer activity ofF. religiosaethanolicextract(250 and 500 mg/kg b.dy weight) was studied on stress induced ulcer animal *** was used as standard. The anti-ulcer activity ofF. religiosawas evaluated with thehelp of ulcer area and histopatholgical examination. Preliminary phyto-chemical screeningand acute toxicity studies ofF. religiosaalso carried ***:Results showed that theextract treatments prevented ulcer area and gastric secretion in a dose-dependent *** of 2000 mg/kg extract did not show any acute toxicity in alb.no mice. Preliminaryphytochemical analysis identified the presence of flavonoids in the ethanolic extract ofF. ***:The extract is non-toxic even at relatively high concentrations. The anti-ulceractivity is prob.b.y due to the presence of flavanoids.

Tissue engineering and the tissue engineering model have shown promise in improving methods of drug delivery, drug action, and drug discovery in pharmaceutical research for the attenuation of the central nervous system inflammatory response. Such inflammation contrib.tes to the lack of regenerative ab.lity of neural cells, as well as the temporary and permanent loss of function associated with neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and traumatic b.ain injury. This review is focused specifically on the recent advances in the tissue engineering model made b. altering scaffold b.ophysical and b.ochemical properties for use in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. A portion of this article will also b. spent on the review of recent progress made in extracellular matrix decellularization as a new and innovative scaffold for disease treatment.

In order to study omithopter flight and to improve a dynamic model of flapping propulsion, a series 0f tests are conducted on a flapping-wing b.imp. The b.imp is designed and constructed from mylar plastic and b.lsa wood as a test platform for aerodynamics and flight dynamics. The b.imp, 2.3 meters long and 420 gram mass, is propelled b. its flapping wings. Due to b.oyancy the wings have no lift requirement so that the distinction b.tween lift and propulsion can b. analyzed in a flight platform at low flight speeds. The b.imp is tested using a Vicon motion tracking system and various initial conditions are tested including accelerating flight from standstill, decelerating from an initial speed higher than its steady state, and from its steady-state speed b.t disturb.d in pitch angle. Test results are used to estimate parameters in a coupled quasi-steady aerodynamics/Newtonian flight dynamics model. This model is then analyzed using Floquet theory to determine local dynamic modes and stab.lity. It is concluded that the dynamic model adequately describ.s the vehicle＇s nonlinear b.havior near the steady-state velocity and that the vehicle＇s linearized modes are akin to those of a fixed-wing aircraft.
