First principles investigation of protactinium-based oxide-perovskites for flexible opto electronic devices

The structural,elastic,mechanical,electronic,and optical properties of KPaO_3 and RbPaO_3 compounds are investigated from first-principles calculations by using the WIEN2 k code in the frame of local density approximation（LDA） and generalized gradient approximation（GGA）.The calculated ground state quantities,such as lattice constant（α_0）,ground state energy（E）,bulk modulus（S）,and their pressure derivative（B_p） are in reasonable agreement with the present analytical and previous theoretical results and available experimental *** on several elastic and mechanical parameters,the structural stability,hardness,stiffness and the brittle and ductile behaviors are discussed,which reveal that protactiniumbased oxide series of perovskites is mechanically stable and possesses weak resistance to shear deformation compared with resistance to unidirectional compression while flexible and covalent behaviors are dominated in *** analysis of band profile through Trans-Blaha modified Becke-Johnson（TB-mBJ） potential highlights the underestimation of bandgap with traditional density functional theory（DFT） *** contribution of electronic states is investigated by means of total and partial density of states and it can be evaluated that both compounds are（Γ-Γ） direct bandgap *** fundamental optical properties are analyzed while attention is paid to absorption and reflection spectra to explore extensive absorptions and reflections of these compounds in high frequency *** present method represents an influential approach to calculating the whole set of elastic,mechanical,and opto-electronic parameters,which would conduce to the understanding of various physical phenomena and empower the device engineers to implement these materials in flexible opto-electronic applications.

Holmium doped GaN diluted magnetic semiconductor thin films have been prepared by thermal evaporation technique and subsequent ammonia annealing. X-ray diffraction mea- surements reveal all peaks belong to the purely hexagonal wurtzite structure. Surface mor- phology and composition analysis were carried out by scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectroscopy respectively. The room temperature ferromagnetic proper- ties of Gal-xHoxN （x=0.0, 0.05） films were analyzed using vibrating sample magnetometer at room temperature. Magnetic measurements showed that the undoped films （i.e. GaN） exhibited diamagnetic behavior, while the Ho-doped （Gao.95Hoo.05N） film exhibited a ferro- magnetic behavior.

A high-energy-density Li-ion battery with excellent rate capability and long cycle life was fabricated with a Ni-rich layered LiNi_(0.8)Co_(0.1)Mn_(0.1)O_2 cathode and Si O-C composite anode. The LiNi_(0.8)Co_(0.1)Mn_(0.1)O_2 and Si O-C exhibited excellent electrochemical performance in both half and full cells. Specifically, when integrated into a full cell configuration, a high energy density(280 Wh·kg^(-1)) with excellent rate capability and long cycle life was attained. At 0.5 C, the full cell retained 80% of its initial capacity after 200 charge/discharge cycles, and 60% after 600 cycles, indicating robust structural tolerance for the repeated insertion/extraction of Li^+ ions. The rate performance showed that, at high rate of 1 C and 2 C, 96.8% and 93% of the initial capacity were retained, respectively. The results demonstrate strong potential for the development of high energy density Li-ion batteries for practical applications.

Realizing photon upconversion in nanostructures is important for many next- generation applications such as biological labelling, infrared detectors and solar cells. In particular nanowires are attractive for optoelectronics because they can easily be electrically contacted. Here we demonstrate photon upconversion with a large energy shift in highly n-doped InP nanowires. Crucially, the mechanism responsible for the upconversion in our system does not rely on multi-photon absorption via intermediate states, thus eliminating the need for high photon fluxes to achieve upconversion. The demonstrated upconversion paves the way for utilizing nanowires--with their inherent flexibility such as electrical contactability and the ability to position individual nanowires--for photon upconversion devices also at low photon fluxes, possibly down to the single photon level in optimised structures.

We have investigated the doping behavior of rare earth element holmium （Ho3＋） in ZnO semiconductor. The structural, microstructure, and magnetic properties of Zn1-xHoxO （x=0.0, 0.04, and 0.05） thin films deposited on Si（100） substrate by thermal evaporation technique were studied. The ceramic targets were prepared by conventional solid state ceramic technique. The pallets used as target were final sintered at 900℃ in the presence of N2 atmosphere. The experimental results of X-ray diffraction （XRD） spectra, surface morphology, and magnetic properties show that the Ho3＋ doped ZnO thin films has a strong influence on the materials properties. The higher angle shift in peak position and most preferred （101） orientation were observed in XRD pattern. These spectra confirmed the substitution of Ho3＋ in ZnO lattice. The surface morphology and stoichiometry for both bulk and thin films were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectroscopy. It was observed that grain size decreases with the increase of Ho3＋. Room temperature ferromagnetism was observed for Zn0.95Ho0.050 films. The ferromagnetism might be attributed to the substitution of Ho ions for Zn2＋ in ZnO lattices.

Objective:To evaluate the prevalence and types of complementary and alternative medicine(CAM)modalities among patients with cancer in Karachi,***:This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted from March 2021 to December *** hundred patients with cancer were invited to participate in the *** databases,namely,Google scholar,Publons,EMBASE,PubMed,Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure Database,and ResearchGate was used for questionnaire *** self-administered survey included questions on demographic characteristics,education level,socio-economic conditions and information about CAM therapies,prevalence,effectiveness,and common CAM *** analysis was conducted using SPSS software version ***:Out of the 500 invited patients,433(86.6%)successfully completed and returned the *** contrast to patients who were with younger,highly educated,professionally active,higher income,and had advanced cancer,time since diagnosis,type of treatment,cancer types and family history are significantly associated with CAM *** results showed that 59.8%of the participants were acquainted with complementary and/or alternative medicine and considered safe owing to its natural *** prevalence of CAM usage among cancer patients was 40.9%and the most widely used CAM modality was herbal medicine(27.7%)and dietary supplements(28.8%).Patients used CAM as a complementary therapy to improve the morphological parameter(28.2%),strengthen the immune system(6.8%),and to decrease the side effects of conventional treatment(18.1%).Most of the respondents get the information regarding CAM therapy from the electronic media(43.2%)and the family members(48%)rather than healthcare ***:Participants used CAM modalities along with the conventional health care *** multicentre studies should be conducted to provide information regarding the usage of CAM therapies and their eventual benefi

通过调节共沉淀制备过程中氨水浓度和pH值控制三元前驱体的成核与长大过程,制备得到团聚态和均一态两种微观结构的Ni0.85Co0.10Mn0.05（OH）2前驱体。两种前驱体的粒度分布,比表面,振实等理化指标接近。烧结后制备LiNi0.85Co0.10Mn0.05O2三元正极材料测试电化学性能表明,两种正极的克容量及倍率性能相近,但具有均一态结构的正极材料1C循环50周后容量保持率达到98.3%,高于团聚态结构正极材料的96.9%循环保持率。d Q·d V-1分析表明,具有均一态结构的正极材料循环前后的氧化还原峰位置和压差稳定,显示了较小的极化损失。进一步通过SEM表征,循环前后具有均一态结构的正极材料断面密实,显示出较高的机械强度,因此在充放电循环过程中颗粒无明显破碎,有较稳定的电极/电解液界面,可改善循环性能。

Indian mustard (Brassica juncea L.) germplasm consisting 167 accessions including one check cultivar was evaluated for qualitative and quantitative traits. The present study was conducted to investigate genetic diversity and correlation among studied genotypes of B. juncea L. based on agro-morphological at NARC, Islamabad, Pakistan. To investigate the genetic diversity based on morphological characters, data was recorded on 20 quantitative and 12 qualitative traits. The calculated data was analyzed through two complementary methods, i.e. PCA (Principal Component Analysis) and cluster analysis. Among all the studied cultivars, significant diversity was recorded for different agro-morphological characters. Among all the parameters, maximum variance was recorded for pod shattering (427.2) followed by plant height (345.6), days to 100% flowering (336.2) and main raceme length (210.0). Among all the characters, the greatest and highly significant association (0.99) was found between days to maturity 50% and days to maturity 100% followed by correlation (0.86) among days to flowering 50% and days to flowering 100%, correlation value (0.71) was calculated among leaf length and leaf width. Using cluster analysis all the genotypes were divided into five major groups. It was observed that 7 out of 20 principal components with an Eigen value of ≥1.0 calculated for 73.92% of the total diversity observed between 167 accessions of Indian mustard (B. juncea L.). The contribution of first three PCs in the total PCs was 23.25, 12.87 and 11.24, respectively. Among all the investigated accessions two genotypes 26,813 and 26,817 showed great potential for seeds/silique, 1000-seed weight and seed yield/plant, respectively, so these genotypes are recommended for future breeding programs for achieving promising results.
