Nonlinear parametric interactions in ion-implanted semiconductor plasmas having strain-dependent dielectric constants

We report nonlinear parametric interactions using a hydrodynamic model of ion-implanted semiconductor plasmas having strain-dependent dielectric constants（SDDC）. High-dielectric-constant materials are technologically important because of their nonlinear properties. We find that the third-order susceptibility varies in the range 10^-14--10^-12m^2·V^-2 for ion-implanted semiconductor plasmas, which is in good agreement with previous results. It is found that the presence of SDDC in ion-implanted semiconductor plasma modifies the characteristic properties of the material.

In this present studyα-amylase producing bacteria were isolated from the soil near North Bengal University canteen on an amylase agar *** screening of the isolates was done by iodine test,based on the clear zone around the bacterial colonies in the media *** bacterial isolates were selected and quantitatively screened for amylase *** them,strain sps2 showing the highest amylase activity(215±2 IU/ml)was selected for further *** strain sps2 was identified both morphologically and biochemically and further confirmed by 16s rRNA sequencing as Streptomyces pratensis sps2(Gene bank accession *** 236721).Optimization ofα-amylase produced by the isolate was conducted under submerged fermentation of low-cost carbon source banana peel,using a one factor at a time(OFAT)*** amylase activity of 821.33±0.57 IU/ml was recorded after 2 days of *** artificial neural network(ANN)model was employed using the OFAT data to generate a predictive model for amylase production and the R-value of 0.94496 and the RMSE of 64.82 suggesting that the neural network has the precise capability to generate an optimization *** sulfate precipitation and dialysis techniques were used to partially purify theα-amylase and then *** enzyme was found to have a molecular mass of 28 kDa(SDS-PAGE and zymogram)with a K_(m)and V_(max)of 2 mg/ml and 1000μmol/min,*** enzyme was found to be thermostable in the temperature range of 4-90℃ and more stable at alkaline pH with optimum pH of 7.

The parity generators and the checkers are the most important circuits in communication systems. With the development of multi-valued logic (MVL), the proposed system with parity generators and checkers is the most required using the recently developed optoelectronic technology in the modified trinary number (MTN) system. This system also meets up the tremendous needs of speeds by exploiting the savart plates and spatial light modulators (SLM) in the optical tree architecture (OTA).

Performance Evaluation of Modified Black Clay as a Heterogeneous Fenton Catalyst on Decolorization of Azure B Dye: Kinetic Study and Cost Evaluation

Black clay (BC) was used as a catalyst for the decolorization of Azure B dye by Fenton process. BC was modi ed by acid, alkali, distilled water, and calcination to check their changes in characterization and e ciency on decolorization of Azure B. Among three modi ed catalysts, maximum decolorization was obtained by acid-modi ed BC (AMBC) catalyst due to the highest removal of impurities, comparatively. The characterization of AMBC was done by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy and X-ray di raction spectroscopy which show the presence of metal ion. The BET surface area, pore volume, pore size, and density of AMBC were calculated to be 79.402 m 2 /g, 0.0608 m 3 /g, 0.00306 nm, and 16 g/cm 3 , respectively. The highest decolorization of 97.59% was achieved only in 10 min using AMBC at optimized calcination of 100 °C and 3 h of aging. AMBC was considered as the main catalyst for optimizing the di erent process parameters. Optimized conditions were obtained: pH 2, 0.2 mL of H 2 O 2 , catalyst dose 0.3 g, room temperature (30 °C), and stirring speed 400 r/min. The catalyst has showed excellent stability and reusability. It could remove more than 85% of color even after four cycles of run and less than negligible leaching of iron. AMBC has good recycling ability among other modi ed catalysts. To check the selectivity of catalyst, di erent dyes such as Congo red and mixed dye (mixture of Azure B and Congo red) decolorization were studied. In the present work, kinetic study was also carried out and a three-stage decolorization process was found.

Wear and performance analysis of a 4-stroke diesel engine employing nanolubricants

In the present study, the performance of a 4-stroke diesel engine was experimentally evaluated upon adding Al2O3 or SiO2 nanoparticles to the engine oil （SAEISW40）. The viscosity and density of the resulting nanolubricants were determined while varying both the nanoparticle volume fraction and the temperature. Field emission scanning electron microscopy （FE-SEM） showed that the nanoparticles had a spherical morphology and dynamic light scattering analysis determined some aggregation of the nanoparticles in the engine oil. A pin-on-disc test apparatus was used for friction and wear analysis in the presence of the nanolubricants. Examination of wear scars by FE-SEM and energy dispersive spectroscopy found evidence of ball bearing and surface polishing effects, which were responsible for improvements in the tribological properties of the oil. The performance of these nanolubricants in a 4- stroke diesel engine test rig was assessed, and the greatest improvements in the tribological behavior and engine performance were observed when employing 0.3 vol% Al2O3.

Sustainability of metal recovery from E-waste metal recovery sustainability

The issue of E-waste disposal is concerning all the stakeholders, from policymakers to the end users which have accelerated the research and development on environmentally sound disposal of E-waste. The recovery of metals (gold, tantalum, copper, iron etc.) from E-waste has become an important focus. The mechanical recycling, thermo-chemical processes like pyrolysis, pyro-, hydro- and biometallurgical processes can play important roles in the Metal Recovery from E-waste (MREW) technology. For the industrial application of the MREW technology, it is important to analyze the sustainability. In this paper, two case studies have been presented on E-waste recycling industries in India and China. Based on the literature data, an attempt has been made to assess qualitatively the overall sustainability of MREW technology considering the three pillars, i.e., environmental, economic and social. Two conceptual frameworks with (Option-2) and without (Option-1) pyrolysis for integrated MREW units have been developed and the generalized energy and environmental impact analysis has been made using the principles of LCA. The impacts of two options have been compared. Option 2 has been found to be more efficient and sustainable. It has been realized that climate change, fossil fuel depletion, water depletion, eutrophication, acidification, fresh and marine water ecotoxicity are possible impact categories. The recommendations based on the generalized assessment are in good agreement with the findings of previous researchers on individual steps of MREW unit. The findings of this paper are expected to be beneficial to researchers and stakeholders for research directions and decision making on MREW.

The penetration of renewable energy sources(RESs)in the distribution system becomes a challenge for the reliable and safe operation of the existing power *** sporadic characteristics of sustainable energy sources along with the random load variations greatly affect the power quality and stability of the ***,it requires storage systems with both high energy and high power handling capacity to coexist in *** efficient energy management structure is designed in this paper for a grid-connected PV system combined with hybrid storage of supercapacitor and *** combined supercapacitor and battery storage system grips the average and transient power changes,which provides a quick control for the DC-link voltage,i.e.,it stabilizes the system and helps achieve the PV power *** average power distribution between the power grid and battery is done by checking the state of charge(SOC)of a battery,and an effective and efficient energy management scheme is ***,the use of a supercapacitor lessens the current stress on the battery system during unexpected disparity in the generated power and load *** performance and efficacy of the proposed energy management scheme are justified by simulation studies.

An integrated deterministic-stochastic approach for forecasting the long-term trajectories of COVID-19

The ongoing coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic is one of the major health emergencies in decades that affected almost every country in the *** of June 30,2020,it has caused an outbreak with more than 10 million confirmed infections,and more than 500,000 reported deaths *** to the unavailability of an effective treatment(or vaccine)and insufficient evidence regarding the transmission mechanism of the epidemic,the world population is currently in a vulnerable *** daily cases data sets of COVID-19 for profoundly affected countries represent a stochastic process comprised of deterministic and stochastic *** study proposes an integrated deterministic–stochastic approach to forecast the long-term trajectories of the COVID-19 cases for Italy and *** deterministic component of the daily-cases univariate time series is assessed by an extended version of the SIR[Susceptible–Infected–Recovered–Protected–Isolated(SIRCX)]model,whereas its stochastic component is modeled using an autoregressive(AR)time series *** proposed integrated SIRCX-AR(ISA)approach based on two operationally distinct modeling paradigms utilizes the superiority of both the deterministic SIRCX and stochastic AR models to find the long-term trajectories of the epidemic *** analysis based on the proposed ISA model shows significant improvement in the long-term forecasting of COVID-19 cases for Italy and Spain in comparison to the ODE-based SIRCX *** estimated Basic reproduction numbers for Italy and Spain based on SIRCX model are found to be 4.78 and 3.25,*** model-based results reveal that the number of cases in Italy and Spain between 11 May,2020–9 June,2020 will be 10,982(6383–15,582)and 13,731(3395–29,013),***,the expected number of daily cases on 9 July,2020 for Italy and Spain is estimated to be 30(0–183)and 92(0–602),respectively.
