Background:Exercise training promotes brain plasticity and is associated with protection against cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s disease(AD).These beneficial effects may be partly mediated by blood-borne *** we used an in vitro model of AD to investigate effects of blood plasma from exercise-trained donors on neuronal viability,and an in vivo rat model of AD to test whether such plasma impacts cognitive function,amyloid pathology,and ***:Mouse hippocampal neuronal cells were exposed to AD-like stress using amyloid-βand treated with plasma collected from human male donors 3 h after a single bout of high-intensity *** in vivo studies,blood was collected from exercise-trained young male Wistar rats(high-intensity intervals 5 days/week for 6 weeks).Transgenic AD rats(McGill-R-Thyl-APP)were inj ected 5 times/fortnight for 6 weeks at2 months or 5 months of age with either(a)plasma from the exercise-trained rats,(b)plasma from sedentary rats,or(c)*** function,amyloid plaque pathology,and neurogenesis were *** plasma used for the treatment was analyzed for 23 ***:Plasma from exercised donors enhanced cell viability by 44.1%(p=0.032)and reduced atrophy by 50.0%(p<0.001)in amyloid-β-treated *** vivo exercised plasma treatment did not alter cognitive function or amyloid plaque pathology but did increase hippocampal neurogenesis by~3 fold,regardless of pathological stage,when compared to saline-treated *** of 7 cytokines were significantly reduced in exercised plasma compared to sedentary ***:Our proof-of-concept study demonstrates that plasma from exercise-trained donors can protect neuronal cells in culture and promote adult hippocampal neurogenesis in the AD rat *** effect may be partly due to reduced pro-inflammatory signaling molecules in exercised plasma.

BACKGROUND Chronic hepatitis B(CHB)virus infection is a major cause of liver-associated morbidity and mortality,particularly in low-income countries.A better understanding of the epidemiological,clinical,and virological characteristics of CHB will guide appropriate treatment strategies and improve the control and management of CHB in *** To investigate the characteristics of CHB in Eastern Ethiopia and assess the efficacy and safety of antiviral *** This cohort study included 193 adults who were human immunodeficiency virus-negative with CHB between June 2016 and December *** assessments included chemistry,serologic,and viral markers.χ2 tests,Mann-Whitney U tests,and logistic regression analyses were used to identify the determinants of *** disoproxil fumarate(TDF)was initiated using treatment criteria from the Ethiopian CHB pilot *** A total of 132 patients(68.4%)were men,with a median age of 30 years[interquartile range(IQR):24-38].At enrollment,60(31.1%)patients had cirrhosis,of whom 35(58.3%)had decompensated *** use,hepatitis B envelope antigen positivity,and a high viral load were independently associated with ***,66 patients(33.4%)fulfilled the treatment criteria and 59(30.6%)started *** 29 patients who completed 24 months of treatment,the median aspartate aminotransferase to platelet ratio index declined from 1.54(IQR:0.66-2.91)to 1.10(IQR:0.75-2.53)(P=0.002),and viral suppression was achieved in 80.9%and 100%of patients after 12 months and 24 months of treatment,*** the treated patients,12(20.3%)died within the first 6 months of treatment,of whom 8 had decompensated *** This study highlights the high prevalence of cirrhosis,initial mortality,and the efficacy of TDF *** up measures to prevent and control CHB infections in Ethiopia is crucial.

Projected Changes in Eurasian and Arctic Summer Cyclones under Global Warming in the Bergen Climate Model

Modelling of shallow landslides with machine learning algorithms

This paper introduces three machine learning(ML)algorithms,the‘ensemble'Random Forest(RF),the‘ensemble'Gradient Boosted Regression Tree(GBRT)and the Multi Layer Perceptron neural network(MLP)and applies them to the spatial modelling of shallow landslides near Kvam in *** the development of the ML models,a total of 11 significant landslide controlling factors were *** controlling factors relate to the geomorphology,geology,geo-environment and anthropogenic effects:slope angle,aspect,plan curvature,profile curvature,flow accumulation,flow direction,distance to rivers,water content,saturation,rainfall and distance to *** is observed that slope angle was the most significant controlling factor in the ML *** performance of the three ML models was evaluated quantitatively based on the Receiver Operating Characteristic(ROC)*** results show that the‘ensemble'GBRT machine learning model yielded the most promising results for the spatial prediction of shallow landslides,with a 95%probability of landslide detection and 87%prediction efficiency.

A study on long-term trends of the ionosphere using observations at Chong-qing, China

With long-term ionosonde records from 1947 to 2001 at Chong-qing, China, we show long-term trends of the ionospheric parameters, the critical frequencies of E-layer foE, F1-layer foF1 and F2-layer foF2, the E-layer height h'E, and the F2-layer peak height hmF2, respectively. Using an approach of discrete wavelet decomposition arithmetic, we have got the long-term components in the variations of the iono spheric parameters. It does exist nearly linear long-term decreasing trends of above ionospheric parameters from 1947 to 1990, then a nearly linear increase from 1990 to 2001. The decreases are approximately by 0. 35MHz, 0. 4MHz, 2MHz,20km, respectively, for foE, foF1, foF2 and hmF2, but increase by 4km for h'E,from 1947 to 1990. Simultaneously, we find similar long-term trends in the variations of 10.7cm solar radio flux and in sunspot number. The long-term components of the ionospheric parameters have extremely high correlation with those of 10.7cm solar radio flux and sunspot number. This implies that solar activities are the control factor of the long-term trends of the ionosphere. We confirm above conclusions with results from the long-term data at Slough station, UK.

水轮机效率试验结果由模型换算到原型机的相似定律是已知的。对于压力脉动等级，同样希望建立起一种关于压力脉动换算的相似准则。借助于挪威Telemark的Tokke水电站改造项目，分别在两只模型和对应的两只原型混流式水轮机转轮上安装了在线测量系统。该项目开发了两只不同的模型转轮，Tokke水电站转轮与两只模型转轮尺寸之比均为5：1。一只转轮由挪威科技大学（NTNU）设计并制造，并作为NTNU试验台的基准转轮。改造项目转轮供应商AndritzVATech公司将其制造的模型转轮在该试验台上进行试验。在上述两只转轮的叶片表面上都安装了微型应变式压力传感器。信号电缆自叶片中引出，通过上冠，最终通过转轴中心孔在推力轴承上部引出。信号电缆通过推力轴承与轴上的无线遥测系统相连。该系统能够实现对转轮叶片上静态和动态压力变化的高速测量。由于混流式转轮叶片几何形状的缘故，在不改变转轮流道并且保证实现防水的前提下在模型转轮叶片上安装传感器有一定难度。然而，本测试系统仍能够实现预期目的。

Inter-hemispheric comparisons of geospace environment in the polar regions—A proposed cooperative research program between China and Norway

The Chinese Zhongshan Station in Antarctica and the stations in Svalbard (Auroral station at Longyearbyen and NP station at Ny lesund) are closely magnetic conjugate. All of them are equipped similar measurement instruments dealing with upper atmospheric physics. Therefore, there is a good reason to conduct a cooperative research program between China and Norway to do the inter hemispheric comparisons of geospace environment in the polar regions. It will make significant contribution to further understanding of the coupled magnetosphere ionsphere system. The scientific aims of the cooperative project are: to experimentally verify the modeled complicated conjugate relationship between Zhongshan Station in the Antarctic and Svalbard in the Arctic. To derive knowledge from the conjugate characteristics of auroral formations, ionospheric features and space plasma waves in the polar regions, which in turn will lead to better understanding of the solar wind magnetosphere ionosphere coupling processes. The proposed research contents, research methods and experimental techniques are discussed, and the manners of the cooperative research are suggested in the paper.
