Hypotensive Effects and Phytochemical Profile of Aqueous Extract and Fractions of Desmodium velutinun Leaves (Willd) D. C. (Fabaceae) in the Rat

Desmodium velutinum (D. velutinum) is a plant of the family Fabaceae used in traditional Congolese medicine for the treatment of high blood pressure (HBP) or hypertension (HT). The present work evaluated the hypotensive activity and determined the phytochemical profile of the aqueous extract and fractions of Desmodium velutinun (Willd) D. C. (Fabaceae) in the rat. The hypotensive effect of the aqueous extract and different fractions (F1, F2, F3 and F4) was evaluated at the dose of 2.5 mg/kg in normotensive rats anesthetized with 15% urethane at 1.5 g/kg, i.p. (intraperitoneally). Our results showed that the F3 fraction after administration caused a significant decrease in blood pressure and heart rate which remained higher than that of the aqueous extract and fractions (F1, F2 and F4). The richness in polyphenolic and flavonoid compounds as well as the separating capacity of the eluent used within the F3 fraction clearly justifies the beneficial effects of the latter on blood pressure and heart rate compared with the extract and fractions (F1, F2 and F4). In a second part we carried out the qualitative (thin-layer chromatography) and quantitative (total polyphenols and flavonoids determination) analysis. The chemical compounds remained dominated by the polyphenolic and flavonoid groups, the content of total polyphenols and total flavonoids meets the following increasing order: (extract, F1, F2, F3 and F4). The results obtained could certify the use of Desmodium velutinun in traditional Congolese medicine.

Reworked detrital sediments were discovered in the syn-rift to post-rift Cretaceous to Quaternary(Pleistocene)detrital deposits of the Douala coastal sub-basin in the eastern margin of the South Atlantic Ocean at West *** contribution presents the geochemical,mineralogical,and sedimentological data to constrain the origin of these reworked *** investigated samples are characterized by the high values of Plagioclase Index of Alteration(PIA,97.83–99.90),Chemical Index of Alteration(CIA,71.9–99.08),and Chemical Index of Weathering(CIW,98.67–99.90).Data gleaned from these indices suggest that the reworked sediments and their potential source rocks experienced severe *** A-CN-K plot along with the mineralogical indicates a probably post-depositional *** high light rare earth elements(LREE)/heavy rare earth elements(HREE)ratios(15.82–79.13)suggest that the reworked were mainly derived from felsic igneous *** interpretation is further confirmed by the Zr versus TiO2,TiO2/Al2O3,Th/Co versus La/Sc,and La/Th versus Th/Yb plots,which indicate felsic igneous and silicic source ***,the high variability of LREE/HREE ratios(15.82–79.13)and the positive Eu anomalies(1.10–1.32)of studied samples could indicate a little contribution of mafic source *** of the distribution of the heavy minerals(***,aluminum silicate,and rutile)revealed that these felsic and silicic source rocks are mainly granite and gneiss,probably belonging to the Nyong Group and the Western part of the Neoproterozoic Yaounde *** morphoscopic analyses of the host rocks(very angular to angular shapes)have revealed that the reworked sediments have proximal to subproximal onshore origins,probably from former sedimentary deposits,as is indicated by variation of their *** tectonic discriminant diagram indicates the Oceanic Island Arc and Active Continental Margin which are inconsistent with the geological history of the Doual

Desert rhizoliths are generally found as weathered,broken and scattered samples on dune field surface,but rarely insitu in their initial states buried under the soil of desert in the Badain Jaran Desert,northwest *** study off ers an assessment of the morphological,mineralogical,and chemical properties of intact and in-situ rhizoliths found in soils of swales and depressions among dune *** characteristics of these rare and precious objects were assessed using optical polarizing microscopy,cathodoluminescence,scanning electronic microscopy,radiocarbon dating,and stable isotopic analyses,providing the opportunity for discussion of the rhizolith formation mechanisms and associated environmental *** and laboratory investigations showed that the in-situ intact rhizoliths were formed only in the places where Artemisia shrubs are living,and the remaining root relicts within rhizoliths belong to this *** spatial distribution of rhizoliths also suggested that low topographic positions on a landscape provided soil moisture,and redox environments favored rhizolith formation.A semi-closed redox environment in the subsoil at swales and depressions,where water is always present,along with the sandy soil texture,facilitated fast water percolation to deeper depths and *** a soil environment not only provides water for Artemisia growth,but also for the weathering of minerals such as felspars and calcite from primary carbonates,and for the decomposition of root ***,harsh climatic conditions,such as strong winds and solar radiation,led to water evaporation through dead root channels and triggered the calcification along the root *** entrapped lithogenic carbonates and to a lesser extent the decomposition of Artemisia roots provided the carbon sources for the rhizoliths formation,while the weathering of soil minerals,particularly feldspars and carbonates,was the main source of *** in the Badain Jaran des

Evolutionary ecology of microsporidia associated with the invasive ladybird Harmonia axyridis

Invasive species are characterized by the rapid growth and spread of their populations after establishing a foothold in new habitats, and there are now many examples of such species negatively affecting biodiversity and the economy. It is unclear why some species can become successful invaders, whereas most （even if closely related） remain noninvasive. We previously proposed a hypothesis that parasites associated with invading species can promote their invasive success if they are harmless toward the invaders but harmful to their competitors and/or predators in the newly colonized habitat. Here we discuss whether microsporidia that have recently been discovered in the invasive ladybird Harmonia axyridis contribute to its invasive success. We show that all H. axyridis beetles sourced from diverse collection sites all over the world carry abundant microsporidia. This suggests that both native and invasive H. axyridis populations are associated with these tolerated parasites, which were likely to have existed in native populations before expansion rather than being acquired in newly colonized areas. We describe the pathogenesis of the microsporidia during different developmental stages of H. axyridis and we address the possibility that the predation of its infected eggs and larvae by competing native ladybird species may lead to their infection and ultimately to their decline. Finally, we discuss our initial hypothesis： microsporidia that are tolerated by an invasive vector insect can be active against susceptible native competitors and/or predator species.

Background: Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the top lethal infectious diseases worldwide. In recent years, interferon-γ (INF-γ) release assays (IGRAs) have been established as routine tests for diagnosing TB infection. However, produced INF-γ assessment cannot permit to distinguish active ATB from latent TB infection (LTBI), especially in TB epidemic areas. In addition to IFN-γ, interleukin-2 (IL-2), secreted by activated T cells, is involved in immune response against Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This could be involved in the follow up of treatment response. The aim of our study was to determine IFN-γ and IL2 cytokines profiles of patients under antituberculosis treatment. Materials and Methods: A six months’ cross-sectional study was conducted at the Jamot Hospital of Yaoundé, from May to August 2021. Sociodemographic and clinical data as well as 5 mL of blood were collected from each participant. INF-γ and IL-2 were determined using indirect Enzyme linked Immuno-Sorbent Assay (ELISA) according to the manufacturer’s recommendations and spectrum exam in combination with radiography and GeneXpert were used as standard. P-values Results: The results showed that men were more infected 14/61 (31.8%) with a high presence in active and resistant TB groups. The mean age was 41.3 ± 13.1 years with a 95% CI = [38.2 - 44.7], the age group with the highest infection rate was ranged between 31 and 40 years. The IL-2 and INF-γ means were respectively 327.6 ± 160.6 pg/mL and 26.6 ± 13.0 pg/mL in ATB patients, 251.1 ± 30.9 pg/mL and 21.4 ± 9.2 pg/mL in patients with resistant tuberculosis, while it was 149.3 ± 93.3 pg/mL and 17.9 ± 9.4 pg/mL in cured patients, 15.1 ± 8.4 pg/mL and 5.3 ± 2.6 pg/mL in participants presumed healthy (p γ and IL-2rates were observed between the different groups. Conclusion: Monitoring the serum levels of INF-γ and IL-2 would be useful for the follow-up of anti-tuberculosis patients, particularly in the both cytokines association case.

The study evaluated the effectiveness of honey dressings in healing recent skin wounds with soft tissue loss on limbs. Conducted over a year with 60 patients, results showed a significant reduction in wound size and early healing, with complete recovery on average within 29 days. The study supports honey as a viable wound treatment.

The Panzhihua intrusion in southwest China is part of the Emeishan large igneous province and host of a large Fe-Ti-V ore *** previous interpretations it was considered to be a layered,differentiated sill with the ore deposits at its *** structural and petrological data suggest instead that the intrusion has an open S-shape,with two near-concordant segments joined by a discordant dyke-like segment. During emplacement of the main intrusion,multiple generations of mafic dykes invaded carbonate wall rocks,producing a large contact *** the central segment,magmatic layering is oriented oblique to the walls of the *** layering cannot have formed by crystal settling or in-situ growth on the floor of the intrusion;instead we propose that it resulted from inward solidification of multiple,individually operating,convection *** formation was triggered by interaction of magma with carbonate wall rocks.

A Myosin XI Tail Domain Homologous to the Yeast Myosin Vacuole-Binding Domain Interacts with Plastids and Stromules in Nicotiana benthamiana

The actin cytoskeleton plays a role in mobility of many different organelles in plant cells, including chloroplasts, mitochondria, Golgi, and peroxisomes. While progress has been made in identifying the myosin motors involved in trafficking of various plant organelles, not all of the cargoes mobilized by different members of the myosin XI family have yet been identified. The involvement of myosins in chloroplast positioning and mitochondrial movement was demonstrated by expression of a virus-induced gene silencing （VIGS） construct in tobacco. When VIGS with two different conserved sequences from a myosin Xl motor was performed in plants with either GFP-labeled plastids or mitochondria, chloroplast positioning in the dark was abnormal, and mitochondrial movement ceased. Because these and prior obser- vations have implicated a role for myosins and the actin cytoskeleton in plastid and stromule movement, we searched for myosin tail domains that could associate with plastids and stromules. While a yellow fluorescent protein （YFP） fusion with the entire tail region of myosin XI-F was usually found only in the cytoplasm, we observed that an Arabidopsis or Nicotiana benthamiana YFP：：myosin XI-F tail domain homologous to the yeast myo2p vacuole-binding domain associated with plastids and stromules after transient expression in N. benthamiana. Taken together, these observations implicate myosin motor proteins in dynamics of plastids and stromules.

在现代,由于环境的动态性,组织面临着许多挑战。企业面临的诸多挑战之一是让员工适应不断变化和不断发展的环境,并在竞争中取得成功。为了提高员工的效率、效率、生产力和工作承诺,企业必须通过提供良好的工作条件和培训计划来满足员工的需求。本文的目的是分析员工发展计划对工作满意度和员工留守的影响。该研究采用定量方法。通过自我管理调查问卷收集数据。问卷是从以前有效的调查。目标人群由VIPT雇员组成。采用简单随机抽样方法对100名员工进行数据采集。结果表明,工作环境与员工工作满意度之间存在正相关关系。本研究的结论是,企业需要认识到良好的工作环境的重要性,以最大限度地提高工作满意度的水平。本文可以通过鼓励人们为自己的工作做出更多贡献,帮助他们的个人成长和发展,来造福社会。因此,组织激励员工努力实现组织目标是至关重要的。为了确保员工通过培训,它必须高效、快速、容易满足。该研究支持的假设,各种因素的培训有最重要的和强烈的影响员工满意度。该研究支持研究发现,与VIPT的员工相关的反馈因素之间存在着正相关关系。
