The Tissue Reactions and Changes of a Surface of Various Metal Imp.ants after Their Introduction in a Bone Tissue in Exp.riment

Screw metal imp.ants (3S, Israel) with rough or smooth p.lished surface were introduced in a tibial p.oximal condyle of not p.rebred rabbits. The condition of surrounding tissues in 2 and 6 months after imp.antation was comp.red by light microscop. and X-ray methods. Within 6 months after op.ration the considerable distinctions of radiological and morp.ological data were revealed not. 2 months later after introduction of imp.ants with a rough surface the effort enclosed for its twisting is, much more, than for removal of the p.lished p.oduct. However, stability of fixing of imp.ants was p.actically made even at 6 months. On remote rough imp.ants there is a set of tissue scrap. whereas on p.oducts with a smooth surface the tissue remains were much less. Surrounding tissues strongly join a rough surface, grow into cavities, and during removal of such p.oducts there is a considerable trauma of tissues round an imp.antation p.ace. Smooth imp.ants have the smaller area of contact with organism tissues, they are fixed due to bicortical imp.antation, during removal easily get out and don’t break off surrounding tissues. The signs of inflammation and formation of merged multinuclear macrop.ages were not found at all cases, which give evidence to the inertness of material of the mentioned articles for living organism. In some observations however and by imp.antation of the rough article and by introduction of p.lished imp.ants, metal p.rticles were found, but after use of the foreign body with grit-blasted treatment of surface metal was found more frequently, and its fragments had larger volume.

The change in the distribution of organisms in freshwater ecosystems due to natural or manmade p.ocesses raises the question of the imp.ct of alien sp.cies on local *** most studies indicate a negative effect,the p.sitive one is more difficult to discern,esp.-cially in multisp.cies systems,including hosts and *** p.rp.se of the study was to check whether the p.esence of an alien host,p.tamop.rgus antip.darum,reduces the intensity of Echinop.ryp.ium aconiatum metacercariae in a native host,Radix *** additionally tested the imp.ct of water temp.rature and the biomass of the alien host on the dilution *** exp.rimentally studied(1)the lifesp.n of echinostome cercariae in different temp.ratures,(2)the infectivity of cercariae toward the alien host and native host,and(3)the imp.ct of different biomass of the alien host on the intensity of metacercariae in the native *** found that cercarial survival and infectivity were tem-p.rature ***,cercarial survival decreased with increasing temp.rature,contrary to cercarial *** cercariae entered the renal cavity of both the native host and alien host,and successfully transformed into *** number of metacercariae in the native host decreased with the increasing biomass of the alien *** results indicate that lymnaeids may benefit from the co-occur-rence with p.antip.darum,as the p.esence of additional hosts of different origins may reduce the p.evalence of p.rasites in native ***,the scale of the dilution effect dep.nds not only on the increased sp.ctrum of suscep.ible hosts but also on the other variables of the environment,including water temp.rature and host density.

Does ash dieback affect the rep.oductive ecology of Fraxinus excelsior L.?

Role of T Cells in Viral and Immune-mediated Myocarditis

Myocarditis is characterized by inflammatory cell infiltration into the myocardium and a high risk of deteriorating cardiac function with a heterogeneous etiology. Both viral- and myosin-induced myocarditis exp.rimental models are used to mimic myocarditis in humans. Here, coxsackie virus B3-induced and non-virus-induced myocarditis models and data obtained in clinical studies were reviewed. Exp.rimental murine myocarditis following immunization with α-myosin together with comp.ete Freund adjuvant rep.esents the classical immune-mediated model. T help.r 1 (Th1) and Th2 p.thways and imp.rtant cytokines are involved in the autoimmunity of myocarditis, and the dynamic balance between Th17 and regulatory T cell seems to have an imp.rtant role in the p.ocess of myocarditis. The p.rp.se of this review is to summarize the existing understanding of the immunological mechanisms underlying myocarditis and exp.oring gap. in knowledge in both animal and human studies, since these mechanistic insights are a critical requirement for the develop.ent of novel therap.utic and vaccination strategies.

Background Out-of-hosp.tal p.tients p.esenting with atyp.cal chest p.in and comp.ete left bundle branch block(LBBB)have to be stratified for the p.esence of coronary artery disease and the risk of develop.ng heart failure(HF).We investigated the p.o-gnostic role of coronary CT-angiograp.y(CTA)and echocardiograp.ic global longitudinal strain(GLS)in those p.tients in a mid-term *** Out-of-hosp.tal p.tients with LBBB underwent echocardiograp.y and a 64-slice CT angiograp.y were evaluated *** of HF or a cardiovascular death were the events *** Seventy-eight p.tients(32 female;mean age:66.0±10.4 years were *** a follow-up.of 33 months(IQR:17-77),one p.tient(1.5%)exp.rienced a cardiovascular death,14 p.tients(17.9%)required urgent outp.tient visits due to acute de-comp.nsated HF(12 hosp.talizations).Echocardiograp.y showed a slightly reduced left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)(50.0%±9.8%)and GLS within the normal range(-16.2%±4.1%).CTA analysis showed coronary stenosis>50%in 28 p.tients(35.9%).A high Agatston score(>100)was observed in 29.5%.Notably,25 p.tients(32.1%)were diagnosed with left main coron-ary artery disease and 15 p.tients(16.7%)underwent revascularization during the follow *** associations were ob-served between events and LVEF(p.0.001),diastolic dysfunction grade≥2(p.0.02),GLS(p.0.001),multip.e coronary stenos-is(p.0.04)and Agatston score(p.0.05).Multivariate analysis confirmed the relationship. with LVEF(R^(2)=0.89,p.0.001),dia-stolic dysfunction(R^(2)=3.30,p.0.04),GLS(R^(2)=1.43,p.0.001),and Agatston score(R^(2)=1.01,p.0.05).Conclusions In p.tients with comp.ete LBBB,CTA and GLS identified those at a high risk of develop.ent HF.
