Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) provide intelligent navigation and efficient route management, resulting in time savings and cost reductions in the transportation sector. however, the exchange of beacons and messages over public channels among vehicles and roadside units renders these networks vulnerable to numerous attacks and privacy violations. To address these challenges, several privacy and security preservation protocols based on blockchain and public key cryptogra.h. have been proposed recently. however, most of these schemes are limited by a long execution time and massive communication costs, which make them inefficient for on-board units (OBUs).Additionally, some of them are still susceptible tomany *** such, this study presents a novel protocol based on the fusion of elliptic curve cryptogra.h. (ECC) and bilinear pairing (BP) operations. The formal security analysis is accomplished using the Burrows-Abadi-Needham(BAN) logic, demonstrating that our scheme is verifiably secure. The proposed scheme's informal security assessment also shows that it provides salient security features, such as non-repudiation, anonymity, and unlinkability. Moreover, the scheme is shown to be resilient against attacks, such as packet replays, forgeries,message falsifications, and impersonations. Fromthe performance perspective, this protocol yields a 37.88% reduction in communication overheads and a 44.44% improvement in the supported security features. Therefore, the proposed scheme can be deployed in VANETs to provide robust security at low overheads. © 2024 The Authors. Published by Tech Science Press.

Novel synthesis of stabilized Bi_(1-x-y)Gd_(x)Dy_(y)O_(1.5) solid electrolytes with enhanced conductivity for intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cells(SOFCs)

herein,we report the synthesis of a Dy-Gd co-doped cubic phase-stabilized Bi_(2)O_(3) solid electrolyte system via solid-state processing under atmospheric *** with Dy^(3+) and Gd^(3+) has been observed to significantly enhance the densification process during sintering for stabilization purposes,thereby improving the electrical properties of δ-Bi_(2)O_(3)-type *** synthesized ceramics were characterized using X-ray diffraction(XRD),field emission scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(FESEM-EDX),thermal gravimetry/differential thermal analysis(TG/DTA),and the four-point probe technique(4PPT).XRD analysis reveals that the samples Bi_(1-x-y)Gd_(x)Dy_(y)O_(1.5)(y=0.05/x=0.05,0.10,0,15,and 0.20,and x=0.05/y=0.10,0.15,and 0.20) exhibit a stable face-centered cubic δ-phase and a mixed-phase crystallogra.h.c *** XRD analysis of the stabilized δ-phase suggests that the prepared oxides show a face-centered cubic(FCC) structure with a space group of *** microgra.h. reveal that the composition Bi_(0.90)Gd_(0.05)Dy_(0.05)O_(1.5) has no significant ***,an evident increase in the pore formation is observed as the amount of Gd_(2)O_(3) increases until it rea.h.s 20%.This finding suggests that dense pellets are formed during the sintering process at 900-1000℃.The DTA analyses were performed to verify the phase stability,which agrees with the XRD *** electrochemical performance of the synthesized Dy-Gd co-doped Bi_(2)O_(3)solid electrolyte system was evaluated and analyzed in detail by using the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) technique,Based on EIS and conductivity measurements,Bi_(0.75)Gd_(0.20)Dy_(0.05)O_(1.5) exhibits the lowest activation energy of 0.519 eV and the highest conductivity value of 0.398 S/cm at 627℃compared to the other samples;this composition can be used as a solid electrolyte for intermediatetemperature solid oxide fuel cells(SOFCs).

Advanced Optimized Anomaly Detection System for IoT Cyberattacks Using Artificial Intelligence

While emerging technologies such as the Internet of Things(IoT)have many benefits,they also pose considerable security challenges that require innovative solutions,including those based on artificial intelligence(AI),given that these techniques are increasingly being used by malicious actors to compromise IoT *** an ample body of research focusing on conventional AI methods exists,there is a paucity of studies related to advanced statistical and optimization approa.h.s aimed at enhancing security *** contribute to this nascent research stream,a novel AI-driven security system denoted as“AI2AI”is presented in this ***2AI employs AI techniques to enhance the performance and optimize security mechanisms within the IoT *** also introduce the Genetic Algorithm Anomaly Detection and Prevention Deep Neural Networks(GAADPSDNN)sys-tem that can be implemented to effectively identify,detect,and prevent cyberattacks targeting IoT ***,this system demonstrates adaptability to both federated and centralized learning environments,accommodating a wide array of IoT *** evaluation of the GAADPSDNN system using the recently complied WUSTL-IIoT and Edge-IIoT datasets underscores its *** an impressive overall accuracy of 98.18%on the Edge-IIoT dataset,the GAADPSDNN outperforms the standard deep neural network(DNN)classifier with 94.11%***,with the proposed enhancements,the accuracy of the unoptimized random forest classifier(80.89%)is improved to 93.51%,while the overall accuracy(98.18%)surpasses the results(93.91%,94.67%,94.94%,and 94.96%)a.h.eved when alternative systems based on diverse optimization techniques and the same dataset are *** proposed optimization techniques increase the effectiveness of the anomaly detection system by efficiently a.h.eving high accuracy and reducing the computational load on IoT devices through the adaptive selection of active features.

Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as a fuel and the associated risks: A quantitative analysis in the scenario of a developing country

Excessive dependence on fossil fuels has precipitated various challenges, including Greenhouse Gas (GhG) emissions, health hazards, and the depletion of natural resources. Such perils underscore the importance of conducting requisite risk assessments for alternative fuel sources like Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) to ensure their safe utilization. This study undertakes a quantitative risk assessment encompassing diverse facets of the CNG sector holistically, aiming to pinpoint, analyze, and appraise risks, thus empowering policymakers to devise targeted mitigation strategies. To a.h.eve this goal, the collected data undergoes analysis via an integrated approa.h.combining the Fuzzy Analytic hierarchy Process (F-AhP) and Fuzzy Technique of Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (F-TOPSIS). The study's findings reveal a.h.ightened risk of explosion within the CNG sector owing to its highly combustible nature. Additionally, it computes an overall risk index of 0.266 for the CNG sector in a developing nation like Pakistan, indicating a relatively lower risk level compared to other fuel sources. Policymakers are thus advised to undertake requisite measures concerning infrastructure, customer safety, and environmental and economic stability to accrue both immediate and long-term benefits. The application of hybrid techniques for the risk assessment of the CNG sector in the case of a developing country marks the novelty of this study and a study of the first of its kind.

Sensing the heavy water concentration in an h_(2)O-D_(2)O mixture by solid-solid phononic crystals

A new method based on phononic crystals is presented to detect the concentration of heavy water(D_(2)O)in an h_(2)O-D_(2)O *** have been obtained and analyzed in the concentration range of 0%-10%and 90%-100%D_(2)O.A proposed structure of tungsten scatterers in an aluminum host is *** order to detect the target material,a cavity region is considered as a sound wave resonator in which the target material with different concentrations of D_(2)O is *** changing the concentration of D_(2)O in the h_(2)O-D_(2)O mixture,the resonance frequency undergoes a frequency *** 1%change in D_(2)O concentration in the h_(2)O-D_(2)O mixture causes a frequency change of about 120 *** finite element method is used as the numerical method to calculate and analyze the natural frequencies and transmission spectra of the proposed *** performance evaluation index shows a.h.gh Q factor up to 1475758 and a.h.gh sensitivity up to 13075,which are acceptable values for sensing *** other figures of merit related to the detection performance also indicate high-quality performance of the designed sensor.

CFD simulation and optimization of an industrial cement gas-solid air classifier

An air classifier is one of the main and effective devices in cement *** this study,a three-dimensional,steady and two-phase(solid-gas)computational fluid dynamics(CFD)simulation was performed to optimize the performance of this device in the Kerman Momtazan cement plant,*** the validation of CFD results,the air flow field and air pa.h.lines between fixed blades were checked carefully and the non-uniformity in velocity distribution and the formation of vortex flows between the blades close to particle inlets were *** study tried to improve the device efficiency by changing the method of entering particles into the device,resulting in a reduction in air classifier electrical energy consumption(from 41 to 35(kW h)/t)and an increase in production rate(from 203 to 214 t/h).Additionally,the study investigated the effects of other modifiable operating conditions like rotary cage rotation speed,pressure difference,and inlet air temperature on the particle size distribution and classifier *** results showed that increasing the cage rotation speed decreased the product rate and the product particles mean diameter while increasing pressure difference or increasing temperature increased the product rate and the product particles mean *** was concluded that these modifiable operating conditions can significantly affect the performance of the air classifier in the cement industry.
