Maternal supplementation with n-3 fatty acids affects placental lipid metabolism, inflammation, oxidative stress, the endocannabinoid system, and the neonate cytokine concentrations in dairy cows

The application of High‐Temperature Superconductor(HTS)coils made of coated conductors has been investigated for many years.A possible configuration for such coils is the jointless loop,also known as the ring *** double crossed loop coil(DCLC)has been successfully applied in superconducting magnetic bearings(SMBs).The design of SMBs with DCLCs requires flexible modelling to allow all parts of the device to be *** work proposes the T‐A formulation with a thin‐film approximation for modelling SMB with DCLCs in the finite element analysis framework.A 2D representation of the system is coupled with an external electric circuit to model the continuity of the lines that represent the parts of each jointless *** couple the T‐A formulation and the circuit,an average of the total electric field,with both resistive and inductive components,is applied to the *** total current computed by the circuit is applied to the T‐A *** proposed methodology was validated by comparison with levitation force experimental *** types of tests were simulated:five levitation force tests and three guidance force *** is shown that there is a limit to the behaviour of the levitation force related to the high‐loss *** this limit,the stack of DCLCs behaves as an equivalent *** this limit,a high‐loss state appears as a linear growth of the levitation *** is also shown that this high‐loss state in vertical displacement influences the lateral force.

Nonlocal material properties of single-walled carbon nanotubes

Natural frequencies of single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWCNTs)obtained using a model based on Eringen’s nonlocal continuum mechanics and the Timoshenko beam theory are compared with those obtained by molecular dynamics *** goal was to determine the values of the material constant,considered here as a nonlocal property,as a function of the length and the diameter of *** present approach has the advantage of eliminating the SWCNT thickness from the computations.A sensitivity analysis of natural frequencies to changes in the nonlocal material constant is also carried out and it shows that the influence of the nonlocal effects decreases with an increase in the SWCNT *** matching of natural frequencies shows that the nonlocal material constant varies with the natural frequency and the SWCNT length and diameter.

A Novel Approach to Measuring Spatiotemporal Changes in Social Vulnerability at the Local Level in Portugal

Background:Biochemical and hematological parameters are important tools for assessing the physiological profile of vital organs,and can be recorded to create reference values used for clinical diagnosis of *** research laboratories lack the means to establish their own set of reference parameters for use in their research,and while there are articles in the literature that discuss laboratory parameters for healthy BALB/c mice,few studies address the evaluation of these parameters in pathological situations,such as in mice inoculated with Ehrlich ***:BALB/c-FMABC mice previously inoculated with Ehrlich tumor were maintained under appropriate *** samples were taken for analysis of hematological parameters using automated and semi-automated equipment to create a set of the animal welfare parameters for ***:Results were obtained for all the hematological parameters for all groups *** showed:statistically significant differences between the initial and final tumor weight;comparable initial tumour volume and weight;an increase in leukocytes in the 7-day group with a characteristic predominance of lymphocytes and neutrophils;statistically significant changes in RDW in the 21-day group and in the welfare parameters in the 28-day ***:The study successfully defined and established reference values for hematological and welfare parameters for all groups analyzed.

What exists beyond cag A and vacA? Helicobacter pylori genes in gastric diseases

Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) infection is present in more than half the world's population and has been associated with several gastric disorders, such as gastritis, peptic ulceration, and gastric *** clinical outcome of this infection depends on host and bacterial factors where H. pylori virulence genes seem to play a relevant role. Studies of cag A and vac A genes established that they were determining factors in gastric pathogenesis. However, there are gastric cancer cases that are cag A-negative. Several other virulence genes have been searched for, but these genes remain less well known that cag A and vac A. Thus, this review aimed to establish which genes have been suggested as potentially relevant virulence factors for H. pylori-associated gastrointestinal diseases. We focused on the cag-pathogenicity island, genes with adherence and motility functions, and ice A based on the relevance shown in several studies in the literature.

One Pr（Ⅲ） lanthanide ion complex was initially synthesized and characterized by TGA-DSC in air atmosphere, as well as characterized by CHN elemental analysis, defining the stoichiometric ratio as Pr（DMBz）3. The gaseous products evolved during the thermal decomposition were also monitored in N2 atmosphere employing TGA/FT-IR system. A crystal structure is obtained by state-of-the-art powder X-rays diffraction methods measured in conventional laboratory equipment and refined by the Rietveld method, which defined it as a monoclinic system of the space group P21/C with a polymeric crystal structure, [Pr（DMBZ）3]n. FT-IR theoretical spectrum and time-dependent density functional theory（TD-DFT） were calculated from TGA-DSC and crystalline system data. The experimental and theoretical FT-IR spectra present a high correlation degree when the main stretching bands are compared, while the energy transfer（HOMO - LUMO） in their neighborhoods suggests the main contributions of the light-emitting states.
