Agriculture has played an important role in the growth of the Indian *** and electricity are essential inputs for agriculture *** produces the third-largest amount of electricity in the world,behind China and the *** an incentive to increase production,most states provide free electricity to *** electricity has decreased groundwater levels and increased electricity *** objective of this study was to find out the factors that influenced farmers to adopt a solar water-pumping system in *** samples were randomly *** study examined the entire state of *** hundred and fifty farmers who adopted solar water-pumping systems were interviewed,including 50 banana farmers,50 cotton farmers and 50 groundnut *** data were collected through an *** adoption of solar water-pumping systems by farmers was identified using factor *** software was used to analyse the data *** this study,only two factors contributed to the variance of 59.469%.The adoption of solar water pumps by farmers was influenced by government policy and economic *** economic benefit variance of 33.20%was found,while a government policy variance was 26.27%.A solar water-pumping system has low initial costs,flexible credit policies motivate adoption,solar water-pumping systems can save electricity,and maintenance and repair costs are *** policy that includes solar water-pumping systems is motivated by awareness,subsidies for adoption and a fair price to sell energy *** are recommended to adopt a solar water-pumping system in conjunction with a drip irrigation system to receive additional *** successful scheme will be recommended to other states in India for implementation.

The study of the relationship between animal stress and personality for free-ranging animals is limited and provides contrasting *** perception of stressors by an individual may vary due to its personality,and certain personality traits may help individuals to better cope with *** non-invasive infrared thermography(IRT),we investigated the link between physiological and behavioral components expressed during an acute stress event by free-ranging Fremont’s squirrels(Tamiasciurus fremonti).We expected that,during the acute stress event of being approached by the researcher,individuals that showed a fast pace-of-life syndrome(bolder,more active,and less social/more aggressive)based on an arena test would exhibit stronger sympathetic-adrenal-medullary system reactivity showing a more intense stress-induced hyperthermia(high core body temperature and low peripheral temperature)than individuals with a slow pace of life(shy,less active,and more social).We successfully employed IRT technology to images of Fremont’s squirrels with identification of the individuals’body parts(eye,nose,ear,hind foot).However,we found no support for our ***’body surface temperatures told us more about a squirrel’s external environment and less about the thermal state of the body in that environment following a stressful *** studies need to assess how to make IRT effective and efficient in the field and improve its performance in studying the relationships between physiology and personality in wildlife.

An efficient synthesis of some new 3-bipyridinyl substituted coumarins as potent antimicrobial agents

As a part of the ongoing studies in developing new antimicrobials, a series of structurally novel 3- bipyridinyl substituted coumarin derivatives 4a-f and Sa-f were synthesized by a single-step reaction protocol under Krohnke＇s reaction conditions. ]H NMR, 13C NMR, IR and mass spectral techniques were employed for the structural elucidation of the synthesized compounds. An evaluation of antimicrobial activity showed that almost all compounds exhibited better results than the referenced drugs. Among the synthesized derivatives 4f, $a and Sd were found to be the most potent analogs. Thus they could be promising lead for novel drugs.

I provide a critical reassessment of David Mermin’s influential and misleading parable, “Quantum Mysteries for Anyone”, identifying its errors and resolving them with a complete analysis of the quantum experiment it is meant to portray. Accessible to popular readership and requiring no knowledge of quantum physics at all, his exposition describes the curious behaviour of a machine that is designed to parody the empirical results of quantum experiments monitoring the spins of a pair of electrons under various conditions. The mysteries are said to unfold from contradictory results produced by a signal process that is proposed to explain them. I find that these results derive from a mathematical error of neglect, coupled with a confusion of two distinct types of experiments under consideration. One of these, a gedankenexperiment, provides the context in which the fabled defiance of Bell’s inequality is thought to emerge. The errors are corrected by the recognition of functional relations embedded within the experimental conditions that have been long unnoticed. A Monte Carlo simulation of results in accord with the actual abstemious claims of quantum theory supports probability values that Mermin decries as unwarranted. However, the distribution it suggests is not definitive, in accord with the expressed agnostic position of quantum theory regarding measurements that cannot be executed. Bounding quantum probabilities are computed for the results of the gedankenexperiment relevant to Bell’s inequality which inspired the parable. The problem is embedded in a 3 × 3 design of Stern-Gerlach magnet orientations at two observation stations. Computational resolution on the basis of Bruno de Finetti’s fundamental theorem of probability requires the evaluation of a battery of three paired linear programming problems. This paper intends to show how the fabled violation of Bell’s inequality by the probabilistic specifications of quantum mechanics derives from a mathematical error, an error of neglect. I have no objection to the probabilities specified by quantum theory, nor to the inequality itself as characterized in the formulation of Clauser, Horne, Shimony, and Holt. Designed to assess consequences of Einstein’s principle of local realism, the inequality pertains to a linear combination of four polarization products on the same pair of photons arising in a gedankenexperiment. My assessment displays that in this context, the summands of the relevant CHSH quantity s(λ) inhere four symmetric functional relations which have long been neglected in analytic considerations. Its expectation E[s(λ)] is not the sum of four “marginal” expectations from a joint distribution, as quantum theory explicitly avoids such a specification. Rather, I show that E[s(λ)] has four distinct representations as the sum of three expectations of polarization products plus the expectation of a fourth which is restricted to equal a function value determined by the other three. Analysis using Bruno de Finetti’s fundamental theorem of prevision (FTP) yields only a bound for E(s) within (1.1213,2] , surely not at all as is commonly understood. The potential impacts of climate change on the Great Hungarian Plain based on two regional climate models,REMO and AladIN,were analyzed using indicators for environmental *** the climate parameters(temperature,precipitation,and wind)will change in the two investigated periods(2021–2050 and 2071–2100),their influences on drought,wind erosion,and inland excess water hazards are modeled by simple predictive *** hazards on arable lands will increasingly affect the productivity of agriculture compared to the reference period(1961–1990).The models predict an increase between 12.3%(REMO)and 20%(AladIN)in the first period,and between 35.6%(REMO)and 45.2%(AladIN)in the second *** increase of wind erosion hazards is not as obvious(+15%for the first period in the REMO model).Inland excess water hazards are expected to be slightly reduced(-4 to 0%)by both model predictions in the two periods without showing a clear tendency on *** three indicators together give a first regional picture of potential hazards of climate *** predictive model and data combinations of the regional climate change models and the hazard assessment models provide insights into regional and subregional impacts of climate change and will be useful in planning and land management activities.

This article identifies the maximum entropy distribution among those in the polytope of probability distributions cohering with quantum theoretic prescriptions pertinent to Bell’s inequality in the optical context. Perhaps surprisingly, the maxent distribution is not a uniform mixture of the extreme vertices of the convex hull of distributions agreeing with the theory. The expectation E(s) it supports equals 1.1296, within the permitted coherent interval of (1.1213,2]. The maxent mixture of the extreme agreeable vertices is compared herein with two other mixture distributions over the convex hull of those supported by quantum theory. One of these is a simple uniform mixture over the solution vectors to the appropriate linear programming problems that specify the polytope. The other is the mixture underlying simulated results of Aspect’s experiments that have been shown to estimate E(s) as 1.7678. Further computations provide examples of the types of claims that would be entailed in a unique distribution within the cohering convex hull such as maxent. These defy quantum theoretic adherence to the general uncertainty principle which proclaims an agnostic position with respect to imagined joint observation operators that do not commute. They also display questionable implications of the “many worlds” proposal which the author does not favour. The article raises questions that deserve to be discussed concerning the general proposal that the maximum entropy principle should be employed to make precise probabilistic assertions about equilibrium phenomena when specific physical theory prescribes only an interval.

This paper presents the results of field and current distribution in the critical state in a superconducting cylinder using Bean critical state model and isotropic critical current density Jc. We introduced an equivalent effective field and demagnetization factor Dc, and showed that Dc, from extremely long cylinder to very thin disks, is equal to Meissner demagnetization factor of the inscribed spheroid of the cylinder. The application of these parameters is discussed at the end of paper.
