Physicochemical properties of coconut husk activated carbon modified by Fe(N0_(3))_(3)and Mn(N0_(3))_(2)

Hydrothermal and catalytic stability of UIO-66 MOFs with defective structures are critical aspects to be considered in their catalytic applications,especially under the conditions involving water,moisture and/or ***,we report a facile strategy to introduce the macromolecular acid group to UIO-66 to improve the stability of the resulting UIO-66−PhSO3H MOF in aqueous phase *** detail,UIO-66−PhSO3H was obtained by grafting benzenesulfonic acid on the surface of the pristine UIO-66 to introduce the hydrophobicity,as well as the Brønsted acidity,then assessed using catalytic hydrolysis of cyclohexyl acetate(to cyclohexanol)in *** introduction of hydrophobic molecules to UIO-66 could prevent the material from being attacked by hydroxyl polar molecules effectively,explaining its good structural stability during ***-66−PhSO3H promoted the conversion of cyclohexyl acetate at ca.87%,and its activity and textural properties were basically intact after the cyclic stability *** facile modification strategy can improve the hydrothermal stability of UIO-66 significantly,which can expand its catalytic applications in aqueous systems.

Modeling of Microstructure Evolution in 22MnB5 Steel during Hot Stamping

Automobile manufacturers have been inereasingl^r adopting hot-stamped parts for use in newly designed ve- hicles to improve crash worthiness and fuel efficiency. However, the simulation of hot stamping is rather complex and challenging, and further research still needs to be done on hot stamping hardening mechanism. The microstruc- ture evolution and hardening mechanisms during hot stamping of 22MnB5 steel were thoroughly investigated, using information provided in the literatures as well as experimental results. New models were developed to predict the grain growth during heating and the flow stress of a manganese boron steel （22MnB5） with high hardenability by the Gleeble simulation experimental results. The deformed austenite decomposition during stamping and quenching was emphatically quantified based on the transformation thermodynamic and kinetic theories, and the relationship of mi- crostructure to properties was analyzed. The results showed that the optimal process to obtain homogeneous and small lath martensite is heating at 900--950 ℃ for 5 min and then auenching at 50 ℃/s with a Dressing time about 8 s.

Pseudo-handover based subchannel and power adaptation scheme for interference mitigation in OFDMA two-tier femtocell networks

In the two-tier femtocell network, a central macroceU is underlaid with a large number of shorter range femtocell hotspots, which is preferably in the universal frequency reuse mode. This kind of new network architecture brings about urgent challenges to the schemes of interference management and the radio resource allocation. Motivated by these challenges, three contributions are made in this paper： 1） A novel joint subchannel and power allocation problem for orthogonal frequency division multiple access （OFDMA） downlink based femtocells is formulated on the premise of minimizing radiated interference of every Femto base station. 2） The pseudo-handover based scheduling information exchange method is proposed to exchange the co-tier and cross-tier information, and thus avoid the collision interference. 3） An iterative scheme of power control and subchannel is proposed to solve the formulated problem in contribution 1）, which is an NP-complete problem. Through simulations and comparisons with four other schemes, better performance in reducing interference and improving the spectrum efficiency is achieved by the proposed scheme.

Intelligent Surfaces Thermally Switchable between the Highly Rough and Entirely Smooth States

Reversible switching from a highly rough surface to another entirely smooth surface under external stimuli is crucial for intelligent materials applied in the fields of an ti-foggi ng,self-clea ning,oil-water separati on and biotech no *** this work,a thermal-responsive liquid crystal elastomer(LCE)surface covered with oriented micropillars is prepared via a facile two-step crosslinking method coupled with an extrusion molding *** reversible change of topological structures of the LCE surface along with temperature is investigated by metallographic microscope,atomic force microscopy and optical con tact angle measuring *** room temperature,the LCE sample is filled with plenty of micropillars with an average len gth of 8.76 pm,resulting in a super-hydrophobic surface with a water con tact angle(WCA)of 135°.When the temperature is in creased to above the cleari ng point,all the micropillars disappear,the LCE surface becomes entirely flat and presents a hydrophilic state with a WCA of 64°.The roughness-related wetting property of this microstructured LCE surface possesses good recyclability in several heating/cooling *** work realizes a truly reversible transformation from a highly rough surface to an entirely smooth surface,and might promote the potential applications of this dynamic-responsive LCE surface in smart sensors and biomimetic control devices.
