Increasing secondary bacterial infections with Enterobacteriaceae harboring bla_(CTX-m-15) and bla_(CmY-6) in patients with bronchogenic carcinoma:an emerging point of concern

Objective:To look for secondary bacterial infections in bronchogenic carcinoma（BCA） with resistant organisms harboring bla genes considering the paucity of relevant ***: A total of 137 confirmed cases of BCA and 34 healthy volunteers were studied for the occurrence and prevalence of blaCTX-m and and blaAmpC harboring-enterobacteriaceae.A subset of these patients（n=69） was previously reported for the secondary infection with the Aspergillus species. Bronchoalveolar lavages（BAL） were subjected for bacterial and fungal cultures and the bacterial isolates were screened by multiplex PCRs for the presence of blaCTX-m and blaAmpC.The isolates were also screened for the association of insertion sequence（IS26） by PCR and characterized by RAPD for any clonal ***:A total of 143 bacterial isolates were obtained from 137 BAL specimens of BC,*** Enterobacteriaceae-isolates were multidrug-resistant showing concomitant resistance to fluoroquinolones and *** blaCTX-m and blaAmpC of CIT family were detected in 77.4%and 27.4%isolates,*** revealed the presence of blaCTX-m-15 and blaCmY-6.Twenty one percent of the isolates were simultaneously harboring blaampC and blaCTX-m-15.IS26 PCR and RAPD typing revealed the presence of diverse bacterial population but no predominant clone was *** present study also suggests strong association of aspergillosis with lung cancer and further strengthens the potential use of non-validated serological tests suggested ***:We emphasize that all patients of bronchogenic carcinoma should also be screened for secondary bacterial infections,along with secondary fungal infections,so as to introduce early and specific antimicrobial therapy and to prevent unwanted deaths.

Objective:To determine the prevalence of bacterial vaginosis(BV) in patients with vaginal discharge and evaluate the efficacy of OSOm BV blue test in ***:OSOm BV blue test,a rapid diagnostic test based on the principle of detection of bacterial sialidase activity in vaginal fluid specimens was conducted.A total of 405 patients in the reproductive age group(15- 45 years) having vaginal discharge were included in the study along with 10 healthy age-matched *** high vaginal swabs were collected aseptically from each *** swab was used to make smear for gram staining,and the other was for OSOm BV blue *** test and vaginal pH test were taken as ***:The prevalence of bacterial vaginosis was 60.7%. OSOm BV blue test showed good efficacy,as compared with gram staining in diagnosing *** sensitivity and specificity of OSOm BV blue test were 97.6%and 97.5%***’s criteria diagnosed 180(44.4%) cases of BV and had sensitivity and specificity of 67.1%and 90.6%*** the performance of OSOm BV blue was better than the methods based on Amsel’s ***:OSOm BV blue test is an efficacious bed side test,helpful in rapidly making an accurate diagnosis of BV in setups lacking laboratory facilities or expert microbiologists.

moringa oleifera is a miracle plant rich in nutrients,antioxidants,and antibiotic *** study was designed to evaluate various biochemical attributes of leaves and flowers of *** parts(leaves,flowers)of ***,collected from different roadsides of multan district,Punjab,Pakistan,were used as experimental *** indicates that alkaloids,saponin,carbohydrates,fats,and protein had a high value in the aqueous extract of both leaves and flowers of *** phenol content was high in methanolic leaves extract and the phenol contents were high in aqueous extract of *** extract yield of *** leaves and flowers both showed a higher percentage in aqueous extract(57.5%),followed by methanol extract and lowest in ethyl acetate *** contents were higher in ethyl acetate extract of leaves(33.67%)and aqueous extract of flowers(53.71%).While crude fiber was high in methanolic extract of leaves(12.40%)and in flowers crude fiber was high in ethyl acetate extract(15.86%).The moisture contents were higher in leaves(8.87%)than flowers(7.3%)and similarly,ash percentage in flowers(52.60%)than leaves(41.84%).Ethyl acetate extracts of *** leaves show antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa while methanolic extract of *** flowers shows antibacterial activity against Xanthomonas *** growth inhibits show in all extracts of leaves against Aspergillus flavus,***,and *** except for the concentrated aqueous extract of *** in flowers maximum growth inhibits all extracts against ***,***,and *** except the diluted ethyl acetate *** present in different parts of moringa have significant edible and commercial *** extracts exhibited significant antimicrobial activity,therefore have applications in pharmaceuticals.

Surface plasmonic effects of metallic particles have been known to be an effective method to improve the perfor- mances of light emitting didoes. In this work, we report the sputtered Au nanoparticles enhanced electroluminescence in inverted quantum dot light emitting diodes （ITO/Au NPs/ZnmgO/QDs/TFB/PEDOT：PSS/A1）. By combining the time- resolved photoluminescence, transient electroluminescence, and ultraviolet photoelectron spectrometer measurements, the enhancement of the internal field enhanced exciton coupling to surface plasmons and the electron injection rate increasing with Au nanoparticles＇ incorporation can be explained. Phenomenological numerical calculations indicate that the electron mobility of the electron transport layer increases from 1.39 ×10-5 cm2/V-s to 1.91 ×10-5 cm2/V-s for Au NPs modified device. As a result, the maximum device luminescence is enhanced by 1.41 fold （from 14600 cd/cm2 to 20720 cd/cm2） and maximum current efficiency is improved by 1.29 fold （from 3.12 cd/A to 4.02 cd/A）.

Background Hepatitis C virus （HCV） constitutes a major public health issue around the world, especially in developing countries like Pakistan. In this study, we assessed outcome of interferon （INF） treatment in chronic hepatitis C patients categorized by gender, age, and viral *** In this study, 750 HCV positive patients with genotype 3 were selected, out of which 616 completed the entire treatment. Their personal history, pro-treatment HCV RNA and serum alanine transaminase （ALT） was *** were treated with combination therapy of INF-α 2b three million units （thrice a week） plus ribavirin （1000-1200mg per day） for 24 weeks. After 24 weeks their HCV RNA and serum ALT level was *** Out of the 616 patients, 391 （63.5%） responded to therapeutic regimen （INF-α 2b plus ribavirin）. Among the responders, 27.1% were men and 36.4% were women. Best treatment response was observed in patients having Iow viral load ＜8×105 IU/ml and age ≤40 years than patients having Iow viral load and age ＞40 years （73.2% vs. 60.3%, P=0.05）.Conclusions Better response to IFN-α 2b plus ribavirin was observed in patients with lower viral RNA and younger *** suggests that all patients considered for treatment should have quantification of serum HCV RNA level. The result can be used to counsel patients on the likelihood of response and may influence the patient＇s decision on treatment.

Optoelectronic applications based on the perovskites always face challenges due to the inherent chemical composition volatility of perovskite precursors. The efficiency of perovskite-based light-emitting diodes(Pe-LEDs) can be enhanced by improving the perovskite film via solvent engineering. A dual solvent post-treatment strategy was applied to the perovskite film, which provides a synchronous effect of passivating surface imperfections and reduces exciton quenching, as evidenced by improved surface morphology and photoluminance. Thus, the optimized Pe-LEDs reach 17,866 cd · m-2 maximum brightness, 45.8 cd · A-1 current efficiency, 8.3% external quantum efficiency, and relatively low turn-on voltage of2.0 V. Herein, we present a simple technique for the fabrication of stable and efficient Pe-LEDs.
