Date palm fiber(DPF)derived from agrowaste was utilized as a new precursor for the optimized synthesis of a costeffective,nanostructured,powderactivated carbon(nPAC)for aluminum(al3+)removal from aqueous solutions using carbonization,KOH activation,response surface methodology(RSM)and central composite design(CCD).The optimum synthesis condition,activation temperature,time and impregnation ratio were found to be 650℃,1.09 hour and 1:1,***,the optimum conditions for removal were 99.5%and 9.958 mgg 1 in regard to uptake *** optimum conditions of nPAC was a.alyzed and characterized using XRD,FTIR,FESEM,BET,TGA and Zeta ***,the adsorption of the al3+conditions was optimized with an integrated RSMCCD experimental *** results revealed that the adsorption kinetics data was well fitted by the pseudosecond order model,whereas the adsorption isotherm data was best represented by the Freundlich isotherm *** activated carbon indicated that DPF can serve as a costeffective precursor adsorbent for al^(3+)removal.

This paper will provide a proposed solution for saving energy consumption due to residential air conditioners by reducing the window air conditioners type which is the most consumed energy and has a big percent of spreading inside KSA than the split type, also it will discuss some restrictions for trading and manufacturing of air conditioner devices inside KSA besides some restrictions on market and buildings to achieve the objective of reducing the consumption of energy which become a big trend in kingdom vision 2030. The results of this suggesting solution will help the decision-makers to start its plan for execution as it has a big difference between using window type from 2022 till 2030 and if we stop its sales and replace by an efficient one of split AC type in energy consumption in addition to CO2 emission reduction and decreasing of energy cost, hence our kingdom can save petroleum raw materials and keeping the environment to become clean from pollutants so that these resources are delivered to successive generations correct and clean as we received them from those before us.

Spatiotemporal a.alysis of long-term changes in air temperature is of prime importance for climate change research and the development of effective mitigation and adaptation *** there are considerable studies on air temperature change across the globe,most of them have been on linear trends and time series a.alysis of nonlinear trends have not received enough ***,spatiotemporal patterns of monthly and annual mean(Tmean),maximum(T_(max)),and minimum(T_(min))air temperature at 47 synoptic stations across climate zones in Iran for a 40-yr period(1978–2017)are a.alyzed.A polynomial fitting scheme(Polytrend)is used to both monthly and annual air temperature data to detect trends and classify them into linear and nonlinear(quadratic and cubic)*** significant(non-significant)trends in Tmean,T_(max),and T_(min) across all climate zones are 41.1%(58.9%),34.1%(65.9%),and 46%(54%),*** highest magnitude of increasing trends is observed in the annual T_(min)(0.47℃decade−1)and the lowest magnitude is for the annual T_(max)(0.4℃decade−1).Across the country,increasing trends(=37.2%)have higher spatial coverage than the decreasing trends(=3.2%).Warming trends in Tmean(65.3%)and T_(min)(73.1%)are mainly observed in humid climate zone while warming trends in T_(max) are in semi-arid(43.9%)and arid(34.1%)*** change with a positive trend is predominant in all Tmean(56.7%),T_(max)(67.8%),and T_(min)(71.2%)and for both monthly and annual ***,the linear trends have the highest warming rate in annual T_(min)(0.83℃decade^(−1))and Tmean(0.46℃decade^(−1))whereas the nonlinear trends have the highest warming rate in annual T_(max)(0.52℃decade^(−1)).The linear trend type is predominant across the country especially in humid climate zones whereas the nonlinear trends(quadratic and cubic)are mainly observed in the arid climate *** study highlights nonlinear changes and spatiotemporal trends in air temperature in Iran an

Savannas cover a wide climatic gradient across large portions of the Earth’s land surface and are an important component of the terrestrial *** have been undergoing changes that alter the composition and structure of their vegetation such as the encroachment of woody vegetation and increasing land-use *** the spatial and temporal dynamics of savanna ecosystem structure(e.g.,partitioning woody and herbaceous vegetation)and function(e.g.,aboveground biomass)is of high *** challenges include misclassification of savannas as forests at the mesic end of their range,disentangling the contribution of woody and herbaceous vegetation to aboveground biomass,and quantifying and mapping fuel ***,we review current(2010–present)research in the application of satellite remote sensing in savannas at regional and global *** identify emerging opportunities in satellite remote sensing that can help overcome existing *** provide recommendations on how these opportunities can be leveraged,specifically(1)the development of a conceptual framework that leads to a consistent definition of savannas in remote sensing;(2)improving mapping of savannas to include ecologically relevant information such as soil properties and fire activity;(3)exploiting high-resolution imagery provided by nanosatellites to better understand the role of landscape structure in ecosystem functioning;and(4)using novel approaches from artificial intelligence and machine learning in combination with multisource satellite observations,e.g.,multi-/hyperspectral,synthetic aperture radar(SAR),and light detection and ranging(lidar),and data on plant traits to infer potentially new relationships between biotic and abiotic components of savannas that can be either proven or disproven with targeted field experiments.

Objective:This research is to investigate the antihyperglycaemic activity and the underlying mechanisms of action of the ethylacetate extract of Chlorophytum alismifolium(EACA)tubers in a type 2 diabetes ***:The tubers were processed and sequentially extracted in hexane followed by ethylacetate,using a Soxhlet apparatus,and subjected to gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC–MS).The acute toxicity of EACA was investigated in albino Wistar *** antihyperglycaemic study was carried out using high-fat diet(pelletized diet and margarine in the ratio of 10:1 and 20%fructose solution)and streptozotocin-induced hyperglycaemic Wistar *** effects of the extract(150,300 and 600 mg/kg)on blood glucose level,insulin,peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-c(PPAR-c)and dipeptidyl peptidase-4(DPP-4)were evaluated using enzyme-linked immunosorbent ***:The oral median lethal dose in Wistar rats was estimated to be>5000 mg/*** with EACA at all doses significantly reduced the fasting blood glucose levels,compared to the hyperglycaemic control,and over *** of EACA increased the serum insulin and PPAR-c levels while decreasing DPP-4 ***–MS a.alysis revealed the presence of 13 compounds,with isothiazole and isoxazolidine covering total area of 24.6%and 22.69%,***:The findings from this study showed that EACA has important compounds with beneficial effect in type 2 diabetes and acts by increasing insulin secretion and PPAR-c level and decreasing DPP-4 activity.

水通道蛋白(AQPs)是细胞膜上特异性转运水的孔道。之前的研究表明AQP1普遍表达于肿瘤血管内皮,并且在其他的许多肿瘤细胞中也有表达。但是,其表达是否是一种异常现象,或者其在肿瘤生物学中是否为关键因素,这些在AQPs的表达研究中仍不清楚。对于水通道蛋白1(AQP1)的研究历史短暂,现在对于它的研究还不能完全表明其在机体内的作用机制。本研究构建AQP1的shRNA的腺病毒质粒,并利用AQP1-shRNA重组腺病毒质粒干涉内源性表达的AQP1及外源性表达的AQP1,研究了AQP1和细胞水转运功能和细胞运动性之间的关系。首先采用包括入门载体pENTR2B和目的载体pAd/CMV/V5-DEST在内的腺病毒载体系统,并利用DNA重组技术以及LR反应构建AQP1-shRNA重组腺病毒质粒,再使用双抗生素筛选、不同感受态细胞转化筛选以及限制性内切酶酶切鉴定其正确性。然后将分子水平鉴定正确的AQP1-shRNA重组腺病毒质粒转染到表达外源性AQP1的CHO细胞以及表达内源性AQP1的肝癌细胞SMMC7221中,并通过Western blot实验和免疫荧光实验对AQP1-shRNA重组腺病毒质粒进行功能鉴定,结果证明AQP1-shRNA重组腺病毒质粒不仅可以沉默外源性的hAQP1还可以沉默内源性hAQP1基因表达,并且以第二个质粒即hAQP1-shRNA2沉默效果最为显著。之后利用MTT实验、细胞膜水通透性实验、划痕实验以及Western blot实验研究转染AQP1-shRNA重组腺病毒质粒后通过沉默外源性AQP1以及内源性AQP1表达进而研究AQP1和细胞水转运功能以及细胞运动性的关系,结果说明AQP1-shRNA重组腺病毒质粒既可以显著干涉CHO细胞中外源性AQP1对水的通透性,又可以干涉肝癌细胞SMMC7221中内源性糖基化的AQP1对水的通透性,并且AQP1-shRNA重组腺病毒质粒沉默AQP1后,细胞运动性受到显著地抑制,同时AQP1可能通过细胞骨架的重建修复来参与细胞的运动。

A field work has been carried out to identify the occurrence of oil and oil products pollution in mangrove sediment from Red Sea of Yemen. The concentration of total petroleum hydrocarbons is from 700ng/g at Kamaran Island station to 400 ng/g at al-Hodiedah station, and the total organic carbon (TOC) in samples ranges from 0.07% at Dhubab station to 0.03% at Kamaran Island station. This pollution is as a result of localized oil pollution and/or heavy ship traffic in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

Monitoring drilling deviation is important for drilling of boreholes and measuring injection rock permeability by Lugeon value for safe and efficient drilling and grouting. This paper is aiming at the study drilling deviation and relationship between drilling and injection permeability at the depth of 100 m in dam of Pushi River. The results show that at different depths the deviation of grouting borehole is within the allowable range according to specifications. LU value decreases with the depth increased in general, but at the depths between 40-41 m the permeability is 1.5 LU, and at 24 m the LU value is the largest (2 LU) in this site by this study. The study thus concludes that even though the rocks are hard and their injection permeability decreases with depth increased, good drilling practices including carefully considering technical and geological specifications can get good drilling boreholes.
