Objective This research aimed to evaluate the protective effects of bioactive compounds such as phenolic acids, flavonoids, and tannins present in four species extracted with methanol. Methods The total phenolic content of the methanolic extracts was measured spectrophotometrically. The effect of the extracts on cell viability in U266 cells was measured. The effects of extracts on free radical scavenging were assessed by the DPPH test and FRAP assay. Antibacterial effects of the natural products in this report were investigated by using the disc diffusion method. Results Our results clearly demonstrated that the methanolic extracts were characterized by a high amount of phenolic compounds. It has been speculated that ME-TA and ME-TAl exhibit a significant(P < 0.05) and dose-dependent antiradical potential. The exposure of cells to high doses of extracts almost completely suppressed cell growth in vitro. ME-TA and ME-TAl showed significant cytotoxic effects at a concentration of 100 μg/mL in the U266 cell line. ME-TAl and ME-CF inhibited the growth of B. subtilis and S. aureus, respectively, to the same extent as 10 μg/μL of chloramphenicol at a concentration of 1 mg/mL. Conclusion Overall, these results suggest that plants used in traditional medicine have a novel application as free radical scavengers, bacterial inhibitors and tumor suppressors.

The tidal flat of Nakta is located in the northern part of the gulf of Gabes and in the southern coast of Sfax. It corresponds to a flat reef protected from less topography, with a slope ranging between 2° and 4°, which borders the Gargour Wadi. The study sector is renowned to have moderate hydrodynamics which lasts almost for two millenary (14C isotopic dating). The sedimentological study of the Nakta tidal flat revealed different facies: fine-grained sand in the intertidal zone and carbonated muddy sand in the infratidal zone. Equilibrium state of the Nakta ecosystem depends entirely on tide currents, which mainly inhibit drift currents. The Nakta tidal flat is characterized by a variety of faunal species (Cerastoderma glaucum, Arca noe, Cardita antiquatus, Chlamys varied, Ruditapes deccussatus, Tapes rhomboids, Pinctada radiate, etc.) and floristic diversities (Halocnemum strobilacum, Halimione portulacoides, Enteromorpha linza, Ulva rigida, Cymodocea nodosa, Posidonia oceanica). The species are abundant in the infratidal zone, while in its intertidal zone, faunal species remain little diversified and are dominated by limivorous diggering. The paleogeographic study of the Nakta tidal flat showed the alternation of regression and transgression periods.

Background:Tauopathies comprise a family of neurodegenerative disorders including Alzheimer’s disease for which there is an urgent and unmet need for disease-modifying *** are characterized by pathological tau hyperphosphorylation,which has been shown to correlate tightly with disease progression and memory loss in patients suffering from Alzheimer’s *** recently demonstrated an essential requirement for 3-O-sulfated heparan sulfate in pathological tau hyperphosphorylation in zebrafish,a prominent model organism for human drug ***,we investigated whether in vivo treatment with surfen or its derivatives oxalyl surfen and hemisurfen,small molecules with heparan sulfate antagonist properties,could mitigate tau hyperphosphorylation and neuronal deficits in a zebrafish model of ***:In vivo treatment of Tg[HuC::hTau^(P301L);DsRed]embryos for 2 days with surfen or oxalyl surfen significantly reduced the accumulation of the pThr181 tau phospho-epitope measured by ELISA by 30%and 51%,*** blot analysis also showed a significant decrease of pThr181 and pSer396/pSer404 in embryos treated with surfen or oxalyl *** analysis further confirmed that treatment with surfen or oxalyl surfen significantly decreased the AT8 tau epitope in spinal *** addition,in vivo treatment of Tg[HuC::hTau^(P301L);DsRed]embryos with surfen or oxalyl surfen significantly rescued spinal motoneuron axon-branching defects and,as a likely consequence,the impaired stereotypical touch-evoked escape ***,treatment with hemisurfen,a surfen derivative devoid of heparan sulfate antagonist activity,does not affect tau hyperphosphorylation,nor neuronal or behavioural deficits in Tg[HuC::hTau^(P301L);DsRed]***:Our findings demonstrate for the first time that surfen,a well-tolerated molecule in clinical settings,and its derivative,oxalyl surfen,could mitigate or delay neuronal defects

生词的注释是初级汉语教材中必不可少的一部分,学生学习和教师教学都需要生词注释的辅助。教材的生词注释不同于汉语阿拉伯语词典翻译,其具有自己的特点。教材的生词注释不仅要按照课文语境列出译词,还要注重中阿两种语言和文化的差别及其他因素。因此,如何在国际中文教育过程中让生词注释更好地发挥作用以及如何更加科学地进行生词注释是特别重要的问题。目前,在汉语国际教育学界有很多关于生词注释方面的研究,但是却很少存在针对阿拉伯语的汉语生词注释研究。本文包括三个部分:第一部分为绪论,介绍了研究意义、对象和方法,并简单阐释汉语教材注释研究现状;第二部分简述目前教材生词注释的情况;从语义、语法和文化方面总结了《新实用汉语课本（1）》阿拉伯注释本存在的一些问题,同时分析和概述了《新实用汉语课本（1）》和《新概念汉语（1）》两本教材中相同生词注释的异同;第三部分,笔者举出一些相关的教学对策和针对《新实用汉语课本（1）》的修改建议。通过对《新实用汉语课本（1）》生词注释研究和分析,笔者结合阿拉伯语和汉语特点,从语义、语法和文化三个层面对生词注释提出建议,希望可以为国别化汉语教材注释研究的发展提供一点贡献。通过对《新实用汉语课本（1）》和《新概念汉语（1）》两本教材生词注释的对比分析,也启发我对生词注释中存在的问题的一些改善和修改。

Patient Reported Outcomes Instruments in Schizophrenia: A Review of Psychometric Properties

Background: Interest in the self-perception of patients with mental illness is increasing because of the gap between the physician and patient perceptions of symptoms and drug side effects. Schizophrenia is one of the mental illnesses that cause the greatest difficulty in understanding the various physical and psychological impacts related to both symptoms and drug treatment. Thus, several patient-reported outcomes (PRO) have been developed to get a clearer understanding of patients’ experience with their own illness and the treatment that they receive. Objective: The aim of this study was to identify all PRO questionnaires used in the evaluation of patients with schizophrenia, and to assess the quality of these questionnaires based on psychometric evidence. Methods: All PRO questionnaires used in the evaluation of patients with schizophrenia were identified using a search strategy in Pubmed, Medline, and the ISPOR website. PRO psychometric properties were extracted, and their level of validation was assessed. Results: The literature search resulted in the identification of 70 generic, mental health-specific or schizophrenia-specific instruments. These questionnaires were categorized according to measured domains. Six major domains were identified: health related quality of life (HRQoL), insight, depression/ feelings, treatment related, illness symptoms, and caregiver/family. Questionnaires measuring other dimensions were classified as other (related to personality measurement, communication between patients and clinicians and services satisfaction). The review shows that the HRQoL questionnaires demonstrate the best psychometric properties. Conclusion: The assessments of these questionnaires, based on their psychometric evidence level, will allow researchers to choose the most appropriate PRO instruments, based on the instruments’ ability to respond to the objectives of the study and on the rigor of their psychometric qualities. The Lower Cretaceous mixed siliciclastic-carbonate successions of the Boulouha Formation at the type locality in the Dahar escarpment of southern Tunisia have yielded a new discovered assemblage of bivalves which contains Anomia laevigata (Sowerby);Modiolus sp. cf. M. dahuashuensis (Yu et Li);Astarte sp.;and ?Mytilus sp.. The temporal distribution of the Anomia laevigata (Sowerby) and Modiolus sp. cf. M. dahuashuensis (Yu et Li) is limited to the Aptian formations of northeastern China, Japan and Korea, thus we suggest a Hauterivian-Barremian age for the Boulouha Formation. Henceforth, the new biostratigraphic data are used to improve a regional chronostratigraphic correlation between the lower Cretaceous strata of the Saharan Platform domain and those coeval from the Chotts domain.

Objective:To assess the antioxidant activity of aerial parts of Allium roseum *** *** Regel.(*** *** *** Regel.)for the first time,as well as to isolate the main bioactive ***:The chloroformic extract of Allium roseum(***)and their fractions obtained by subjection to a chromatographic study were tested for their antioxidant activities by using 2,2-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl and 2,2′-azinobis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid)*** activity-guided purification was conducted to isolate five compounds in pure form where their structures were identified by means of nuclear magnetic resonance analyses,including 1D and 2D nuclear magnetic resonance ***:The evaluation of the antioxidant activity of chloroformic extract and their fractions from *** *** *** *** interesting *** active chloroformic extract afforded five isolated compounds where their structures were identified as β-sitosterol(1),chrysoeriol(2),luteolin(3),apigenin(4),andβ-sitosterol 3-O-β-D-glucoside(5).All the compounds were isolated for the first time from the *** *** *** *** three flavonoids(2–4)exhibited the highest antioxidant activity with IC_(50) values of 62.28,21.26 and 513.42μg/mL,respectively(2,2-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl assay)and 218.00,73.50 and 877.66μg/mL,respectively[2,2′-azinobis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid)assay].An important value of trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity(2.10 mmol/L)was reported for luteolin(3).Conclusions:These results may suggest that the *** *** *** *** great potential as a source of a natural preservative ingredient in beneficial for natural health products.
