This paper reports the kinetics of schistosomiasis in domestic animals in china from 2005 to *** these years,the prevalence of Schistosma japonicum(***) infection decreased significantly from 3.60%to 1.08%,and the estimated number of infected domestic animals reduced from 72223 to *** all estimated 208421 infected domestic animals,80.04%(166820) cases were in bovine species(cattle and buffalos) and 76.2%(158812) were situated in lake-marshland-type endemic regions including hunan,Hubei,Jiangxi and Anhui *** worst affected were Dongting(hunan province) and poyang(Jiangxi province) lake regions,where 70.14%of the infected animals detected in 2010 lived in. The results suggest that the prevalence of domestic animal schistosomiasis has been reduced significantly. The study has reinforced the idea that bovine animals are the main infectious source for transmission of schistosomiasis,and that lake-marshland-type endemic regions,especially the poyang and Dongting lake regions,are key regions in which to implement control of schistosomiasis.

Influence of rEV and ALV-J Co-Infection on Immunologic Function of T Lymphocytes and Histopathology in Broiler Chickens

The aim of present investigation is to study the effect of single- and co-infection with rEV and ALV-J on T lymphocytes bioactivities and histopathology in broiler chickens. The bioactivities of blood and spleen T lymphocytes including lymphoproliferation responses, cytotoxicitic responses, and histopathology of spleen were detected in broiler chickens singly- or co-infected with rEV and ALV-J at different days post inoculation and the virus expressions in spleen of infected broiler chickens were detected with immunofluorescence assay （IFA）. The results indicated that blood and spleen T lymphocytes proliferation responses and cytotoxicity in broilers infected with rEV or/and ALV-J were inhibited in the whole observed period compared with controls. In the co-infected chickens they were highly inhibited than in the single-infected. The histopathology of spleen in infected chickens at 17 and 37 d post inoculation （dpi） indicated that cell interium increased, the numbers of lymphocytes decreased, and the regrowth were destroyed or decreased, especially more significantly at 17 than at 37 dpi. The different numbers of virus were detected in spleen lymphocytes in rEV- infected and/or ALV-J-infected chickens. In the spleen of co-infected chicken, both rEV and ALV-J were detected and the total numbers of viruses were more than in chickens singly-infected with rEV or ALV-J. Thus, the co-effect of rEV and ALV-J caused more immunosuppression on T lymphocytes bioactivities in broiler chickens than single-effect of ALV-J or rEV, which contributed to the sever histopathology and the product of tumor cells. This study will be helpful for understanding the effect of co-infection with many viruses and control them in poultry.

Epidemiological Studies on Cystic Echinococcosis in china─A review

In the four decades from 1951 to 1990, the six provinces or autonomous regions (Xinjiang, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia, Xizang and Nei Monggol) reported a total of 26 065surgical cases of hydatid disease, most of which were reported in the recent decade. About one third of the patients was children and adolescents under 15 years old. So far, cystic hydatid infections of local origin have been confirmed in 22 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in the whole nation. Findings of X-ray examination and real-time B-mode ultrasonography in agricultural and pastoral areas of Xinjiang, Gansu, Qinghai,Ningxia and Xizang showed that the morbidity rate of hydatidosis in human population varied between 0.5% and 4.5%. The main animal intermediate host in all these regions is sheep, the morbidity of which varied between 3.3% and 90%. The infection rate of adult Echinococcus granulosus in dogs varied between 7% and 71%. The high-risk period for humans contracting hydatid disease is the pre-school age. Direct contact of children with dogs and ingestion of water, vegetables and foods contaminated by worm eggs are the chief mode of transmission for human hydatidosis. The common practices of home slaughter and of feeding dogs on offal containing hydatid cysts facilitate the life cycIe of the *** the basis of hydatid control efforts for several years, the Ministry of public Health promulgated officially the '1992-1995 National programme for Hydatid disease control'in April, 1992, and pilot studies in which the control of hydatidosis is composed of extensive health education, sanitation of slaughtering and management and deworming of dogs are being *** echinococcosis has wide distribution in china and is a major public health problem in hyperendemic areas, poses a great threat against people's health and influences the development of livestock husbandry. Avian influenza virus（AIV） nonstructural 1（NS1） gene was amplified by real-time polymerse chain reac tion（rT-pCr） and inserted into pET28a, then transformed into E. coli BL21（DE3） competent cell. With the induction of isopropyl-β-D-thiogalactoside（IpTG） and the purification of Ni-NTA column, we finally obtained purified NS1 protein. T7-phage display system was used to screen the proteins that interacted with NS1 from lung cell cDNA li brary. The selected positive clones were identified by DNA sequencing and analyzed by BLAST program in Gene Bank. Two proteins were obtained as NS1 binding proteins, Homo sapiens nucleolar and coiled-body phosphoprotein 1（NOLC1） and Homo sapiens similar to colon cancer-associated antigen. By co-immunoprecipitation and other me thods, Homo sapiens NOLC1 was found to interact with the NS1 protein, the results would provide the basis for fur ther studying biological function of NS1 protein.

Background:Schistosomiasis japonica is prevalent in Asian countries and it remains a major public health problem in *** major endemic foci are the marsh and lake regions of southern china,particularly the Dongting Lake region bordering hunan and Hubei provinces,and the poyang Lake region in Jiangxi *** ruminants,especially bovines,have long been considered to play a major role in the transmission of Schistosoma japonicum to *** and Findings:A miracidial hatching technique was used to investigate the prevalence of *** infections in domestic ruminants and field feces collected from two towns located to the south and east of Dongting Lake,hunan province,between 2005 and *** overall prevalence of infection was not significantly reduced from 4.93% in 2005 to 3.64% in 2008,after which it was maintained at this *** comprised 23.5-58.2% of the total infected ruminants,while goats comprised 41.8-76.5%.Infection rates in cattle and goats were significantly higher than those found in buffalo in most study *** prevalence in buffalo younger than three years was significantly higher than that in those aged over three *** the positive field samples of feces were derived from bovines in *** Matang Town,61.22% of the positive field feces were from bovines,while the rest were from *** positive rates for field feces were approximately the same in April and November/***:The present study found that bovines and goats are major sources of *** infection in the Dongting lake region and there was age-related resistance in *** bovines and goats should be treated equally when controlling *** infections in the Dongting lake *** is essential to conduct an additional mass treatment in late March or early April,in addition to the original treatment scheme.

Immune responses to the Attenuated Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae 168 Strain Vaccine by Intrapulmonic Immunization in piglets

To investigate the immune responses to the attenuated Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae 168 strain vaccine, 8-15 d old piglets were immunized with M. hyopneurnoniae 168 strain vaccine by intrapulmonic route. And the specific IgG antibody in serum, lymphoproliferation, IFNT, and specific secretory IgA （SIgA） antibody in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid were detected on 30 and 60 d post-immunization （DpI）, respectively. On 60 DpI, all the pigs except for those in health control group were challenged with a field M. hyopneumoniae strain JS. Necropsy was performed on 30 d post-challenge （DpC）. The results showed that IFN7 and specific SIgA were stimulated on surface of respiratory tract after immunization. And peripheral blood mononuclear cells could also be proliferated about 1.81 and 2.12 fold on 30 and 60 DpI when stimulated by M. hyopneumoniae protein in vitro. However, no serum IgG antibody against M. hyopneumoniae was detected during the whole immune phage. After challenge, vaccinated pigs were observed with only very slight histological lesion in individual lobes. None of vaccinated pigs showed any clinical signs. While the unvaccinated pigs from challenge control group showed varying degrees of clinical sign and severe macroscopical lesion of mycoplasmal pneumonia of swine （MpS）. The result suggested that the attenuated M. hyopneumoniae 168 strain vaccine inoculated by intrapulmonic route could activate the systemic cellular immunity, the local mucosal immunity and IFNγ secretion in respiratory tract to against M. hyopneumoniae infection in piglets.

Detection and Characterization of β-Lactam resistance in Haemophilus parasuis Strains from pigs in South china

To characterize the β-lactam resistance in veterinary clinical isolates of Haemophilus parasuis, 115 isolates were examined for the β-lactam resistance, the possession of β-lactamase, and the presence of β-lactamase genes. The genetic relationship among isolates was evaluated by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis （pFGE）. Overall, the commonly detected resistance phenotypes were resistant to ampicillin （26.09%）, penicillin （22.61%）, amoxicillin （21.74%）, cefazolin （14.78%）, cefaclor （12.17%）, and cefotaxime （6.96%）. These strains showed high minimal inhibitory concentration （MICs） to oxacillin. 20.87% strains produced β-lactamase, and 4.35% strains showed extended-spectrum b-lactamase （ESBL） phenotype. Moreover, 19 strains harboured bla genes including TEM-1 （n=5）, TEM-116 （n=10）, and rOB-1 （n=5）. Significantly, one strain possessed both TEM-1 and rOB-1, and displayed resistance to cefotaxime （MIC=8 mg L-1）. The epidemiological analysis of pFGE revealed high genetic diversity among bla-positive isolates. This work shows that TEM- and rOB-type β-lactamases are prevalent in H. parasuis isolates in china.

To investigate effects on apoptosis of spermatogenic cells and expression of bax and bcl-2 by cadmium chloride,the mouse testicles were injected to different doses of CdCl in one-off time,which were 1mg/kgWB,2mg/kgWB,4mg/kgWB,6mg/*** mouse testicles were gotten in 3d,6d,9d relatively,apoptosis rate of spermatogenic cells was mensurated by TdT-mediated dVTp Nick-end Labeling (TUNEL) and expression of bax and bcl-2 was tested by *** results showed,the apoptosis rate of spermatogenic cells in every poisoning group increased *** with the control group,the difference in every poisoning group was significant(pre dose and time *** the increase of bax expression and the decrease of bcl-2 expression were *** a result,the conclusion showed that CdCl could induce apoptosis of spermatogenic cells of mouse testicle.
