By using the first-principles calculation, we studied the mechanisms of point defects in y4AI209 （yAM）, a promising ternary oxide with excellent optical and thermal properties. It is found that the predominant native defect species is closely dependent on the chemical potentials of each constituent. In the case of O-rich condition, the oxygen interstitial has the very low defect formation energy, followed by the anti-site defects and AI vacancy; in the case of AI-rich condition, the oxygen vacancy yields the lowest defect formation energy, followed by the anti-site defects and AI interstitial. The present result shows that in all the possible chemical potential ranges, anti-site defects have relatively low defect formation energy and might exist in high concentration in yAM. Furthermore, AIy anti-site has relatively lower defect formation energy than the yAt anti- site throughout. The behaviors of defect complexes under non-stoichiometric condition, such as the AI203 or y203 excess, are also investigated. The results provide helpful guide to optimize the experimental synthesizing of yAM.

In the present study,the Mg-4zn-0.6y-0.5Nd alloy was hot extruded and annealed at 200℃,225℃ and 250℃ for different time to optimize microstructure and mechanical *** results exhibit that the dual-size grain structure and linearly distributed secondary phase are the main feature of the as-extruded Mg-zn-y-Nd alloy,which can be described as the elongated grain is surrounded by the fine equiaxed ***,the as-extruded alloy shows strong{011^(-)0}fiber texture feature,especially for the large elongated *** annealing treatment results in static recrystallization,which increases fine equiaxed grains but decreases large elongated *** addition,the equiaxed grains formed during the annealing treatment demonstrate relative random orientations,which weaken the{011^(-)0}fiber texture of the ***,during the annealing at 225℃and 250℃,the extension twins begin to form in the alloy and weaken the{011^(-)0}fiber texture of the alloy *** annealing treatment has little influence on the linearly distributed secondary phase but promotes the coarsening of small precipitates at 250℃.The annealing treatment could increase the yield and ultimate strength,but the elongation decreases,especially at higher *** a variation can be ascribed to the evolution of texture,grain structure,twinning and precipitation during the annealing treatment.

Well dispersed and homogeneous y2O2S：Sm3＋ hollow submicrospheres were successfully achieved by a template- free solvothermal method combining with a postcalcining process. The crystalstructure and particle morphology were investigated by the X-ray diffraction （XRD）, Fourier transform infrared （FT-IR） spectra, scanning and transmission electron microscopy （SEM and TEM）, respectively. A possible growth mechanism was proposed to reveal the formation process. Luminescence properties of the y202S：Sm3＋ long-lasting phosphor were an- alyzed by measuring the excitation spectra, emission spectra, afterglow decay curve and thermoluminescence curve. The excitation spectra indicated that the phosphor could be excited effectively by the ultraviolet-light emitting diode （UV-LED） or blue LED, and the emission spectra showed that the phosphor could emit red light from 600 to 650 nm.

In this work, the effects of quantum confinement on the ground state energy of a correlated electron-hole pair in a spherical and in a disc-like quantum dot have been investigated as a function of quantum dot size. Under parabolic confinement potential and within effective mass approximation Ritz＇s variational method is applied to Hylleraas-like trial wavefunction. An efficient method for reducing the main effort of the calculation of terms like τekh exp （-λτeh） is introduced. The main contribution of the present work is the introduction of integral transforms which provide the calculation of expectation value of energy and the related matrix elements to be done analytically over single-particle coordinates instead of Hvlleraas coordinates.

In this work, we propose an efficient method of reducing the computational effort of variational calculation with a Hylleraas-like trial wavefunction. The method consists of introducing integral transforms for the terms as r12^κ exp （-λτ12） which provide the calculation of the expectation value of energy and the relevant matrix elements to be done analytically over single-electron coordinates instead of Hylleraas coordinates. We have used this method to calculate the ground state energy of a two-electron system in a spherical dot and a disk-like quantum dot separately. Under parabolic confinement potential and within effective mass approximation size and shape effects of quantum dots on the ground state energy of two electrons have been investigated. The calculation shows that our results even with a small number of basis states are in good agreement with previous theoretical results.
