Aqueous-phase formation of N-containing secondary organic compounds affected by the ionic strength

The reaction of carbonyl-to-imine/hemiaminal conversion in the atmospheric aqueous phase is a critical pathway to produce the light-absorbing N-containing secondary organic compounds(SOC).The formation mechanism of these compounds has been wildly investigated in bulk solutions with a low ionic ***,the ionic strength in the aqueous phase of the polluted atmosphere may be *** is still unclear whether and to what extent the inorganic ions can affect the SOC *** we prepared the bulk solution with certain ionic strength,in which glyoxal and ammonium were mixed to mimic the aqueous-phase *** characterization by High-resolution mass Spectrometry was performed to identify the N-containing products,and the light absorption of the mixtures was measured by ultraviolet-visible ***-nine N-containing compounds were identified and divided into four categories(N-heterocyclic chromophores,high-molecular-weight compounds with N-heterocycle,aliphatic imines/hemiaminals,and the unclassified).It was observed that the longer reaction time and higher ionic strength led to the formation of more N-heterocyclic chromophores and the increasing of the lightabsorbance of the *** added inorganic ions were proposed to make the aqueous phase somewhat viscous so that the molecules were prone to undergo consecutive and intramolecular reactions to form the *** general,this study revealed that the enhanced ionic strength and prolonged reaction time had the promotion effect on the lightabsorbing SOC *** implies that the aldehyde-derived aqueous-phase SOC would contribute more light-absorbing particulate matter in the industrial or populated area where inorganic ions are abundant.

Micro(nano)plastics(MNPs)have become a significant environmental concern due to their widespread presence in the biosphere and potential harm to ecosystems and human ***,we propose for the first time a MNPs capture,utilization,and storage(PCUS)concept to achieve MNPs remediation from water while meeting economically productive upcycling and environmentally sustainable plastic waste management.A highly efficient capturing material derived from surface-modified woody biomass waste(M-Basswood)is developed to remove a broad spectrum of multidimensional and compositional MNPs from *** M-Basswood delivered a high and stable capture efficiency of>99.1%at different pH or salinity *** exceptional capture performance is driven by multiscale interactions between M-Basswood and MNPs,involving physical trapping,strong electrostatic attractions,and triggered MNPs cluster-like aggregation ***,the in vivo biodistribution of MNPs shows low ingestion and accumulation of MNPs in the mice *** MNPs remediation from water,the M-Basswood,together with captured MNPs,is further processed into a high-performance composite board product where MNPs serve as the glue for utilization and ***,the life cycle assessment(LCA)and techno-economic analysis(TEA)results demonstrate the environmental friendliness and economic viability of our proposed full-chain PCUS strategy,promising to drive positive change in plastic pollution and foster a circular economy.

Hyperuricemia,a metabolic disorder related to uric acid metabolism dysregulation,has become a common metabolic disease worldwide,due to changes in lifestyle and dietary *** recent years,owing to their high activity and few adverse effects,food-derived active peptides used as functional foods against hyperuricemia have attracted increasing *** article aims to focus on the challenge associated with peptide-specific preparation methods development,functional components identification,action mechanism(s)clarification,and bioavailability *** current review proposed recent advances in producing the food-derived peptides with high anti-hyperuricemia activity by protein source screening and matched enzymatic hydrolysis condition adjusting,increased the knowledge about strategies to search antihyperuricemia peptides with definite structure,and emphasized the necessity of combining computer-aided approaches and activity *** addition,novel action mechanism mediated by gut microbiota was discussed,providing different insights from classical ***,considering that little attention was paid previously on the structure-activity relationships of anti-hyperuricemia peptides,we collected the sequences from published studies and make a preliminary summary about the structure-activity relationships,which in turn provided guides for enzymatic hydrolysis optimization and bioavailability ***,this article could promote the development,application and commercialization of food-derived anti-hyperuricemia peptides in the future.

Pre-harvest water deficit(PHWD)plays an important role in sugar accumulation of citrus ***,the mechanism is not known ***,it was confirmed that PHWD promoted sucrose accumulation of citrus fruit,but had limited effect on fructose,glucose and total acid.A sucrose transporter,Cs SUT1,which localizes to the plasma membrane,was demonstrated to function in sucrose transport induced by *** to wild-type,Cs SUT1 overexpression in citrus calli stimulated sucrose,fructose and glucose accumulation,while its silencing in juice sacs reduced sucrose *** sugar accumulation in transgenic lines enhanced plant drought tolerance,and resulted in decreased electrolyte leakage,malondialdehyde and hydrogen peroxide contents,as well as increased superoxide dismutase activity and proline *** abscisic acid(ABA)-responsive transcription factor,Cs ABF3.was found with a same expression pattern with Cs SUT1 under *** one-hybrid,electrophoretic mobility shift assay and dual-luciferase assays all revealed that Cs ABF3.directly bound with the Cs SUT1 promoter by ABA responsive *** Cs ABF3.was overexpressed in citrus calli,the sucrose,fructose and glucose concentration increased ***,transgenic studies demonstrated that Cs ABF3.could affect sucrose accumulation by regulating Cs ***,this study revealed a regulation of Cs ABF3.promoting Cs SUT1 expression and sucrose accumulation in response to *** results provide a detail insight into the quality formation of citrus fruit.

The photocatalytic conversion of biomass into high-value chemicals,coupled with simultaneous hydrogen(H_(2))evolution,leveraging the electrons and holes generated by solar energy,holds great promise for addressing energy *** this study,we constructed a dual functional photocatalytic system formed by NiS loaded on Ni doped two-dimensional(2D)CdS nanosheet(NiS/Ni-CdSNS)heterostructure for visible-light-driven H_(2)evolution and ethanol oxidation to ***,the 2D NiS/NiCdSNS exhibited significant activity and selectivity in both photocatalytic H_(2)evolution and ethanol oxidation,achieving yields of 7.98 mmol g^(-1)h^(-1)for H_(2)and 7.3. mmol g^(-1)h^(-1)for *** heterogeneous interface of the composite facilitated efficient charge separation,while NiS provided abundant sites for proton reduction,thereby promoting the overall dual-functional photocatalytic *** functional theory calculations further reveal that both Ni doping and NiS loading can reduce the reaction energy barrier of ethanol oxidation of free radicals,and NiS/Ni-CdSNS composite materials exhibit stronger ethanol C-H activation ability to generate key intermediate·CH(OH)CH_(3.on the *** work serves as a valuable guide for the rational design of efficient dual functional photocatalytic systems that combine H_(2)evolution with the selective conversion of organic compounds into high-value chemicals.

Immunotherapy has attracted wide attention because it can not only kill tumor cells but also effectively prevent tumor recurrence. However, due to the poor efficacy of the monotherapy in tumor immunotherapy, combination therapies are needed to enhance their efficacy,such as chemodynamic therapy/immunotherapy, photodynamic therapy/immunotherapy, sonodynamic therapy/immunotherapy and so on. Nanoscale metal–organic frameworks(nMOFs) are widely used for drug delivery because of their rich and variable composition, high drug loading capacity and good biodegradability. Compared with other conventional drug delivery systems(DDSs),nMOFs play more advantageous role in inducing immune cell death of tumor cells and combination therapies. This article focuses on the application of n MOFs in tumor immunotherapy in terms of their use as gatekeepers, supplementary agents and drug carriers, respectively, with the aim of providing some ideas and references for the design of smart nanoscale DDS for tumor immunotherapy.

In this work,a series of Co-based ternary Co-Er-B bulk metallic glasses(BMGs)with excellent soft magnetic properties and high strength were developed,and the local atomic structure of a typical Co_(71.5)Er_(3.5)B_(25) metallic glass was studied through in situ high-energy synchrotron X-ray diffraction and ab initio molecular dynamics *** results reveal that the BMG samples can be obtained in a composition region of Co_(68.5-71.5)Er_(3.5-4)B_(25-27.5) by a conventional copper-mold casting *** Co-Er-B metallic glasses possess stronger atomic bond strengths and denser local atomic packing structure composed of a higher fraction of icosahedral-like clusters but fewer deformed body-centered cubic and crystal-like polyhedrons,and they exhibit slower atomic diffusion behaviors during solidification,as compared to Co-Y-B *** enhancement in structural stability and the retardation of atomic-ordered diffusion lead to the better glass-forming ability of the Co-Er-B *** smaller magnetic anisotropy energy in the Co-Er-B metallic glasses results in a lower coercivity of less than 1.3.A/*** Co-Er-B BMGs exhibit high-yield strength of 3.60-3.69 MPa along with distinct plasticity of around 0.50%.

Fluorographene(FG)with narrow lateral size and thickness distributions was prepared by a liquid-phase exfoliation method,based on liquid cascade *** Rtec MFT-5000 tribo-meter was used to investigate the lubricating performance of bentonite grease enhanced by the as-prepared *** results showed that the coefficient of friction and the wear volume of bentonite grease with 0.3.wt%FG were decreased by 20.4%and 44.9%,respectively,as compared to those of the base *** main reason is that FG can promote the formation of the tribo-chemical reaction film consisting of complex carbon oxide,Fe_(2)O_(3.and FeF_(3.on the friction surface,which can remarkably improve the performance of friction reduction and prevent the appearance of severe wear.
