China has conducted four rounds of National Nutrition Survey or National Nutrition and Health Surveillance in 1959, 1982, 1992 and 2002 respectively. The investigation results and data information plays a positive role in understanding residents’ dietary structure, nutrition level, clinical and epidemic characteristics and change rules of nutrition-related chronic diseases;evaluating the nutrition and health status of the urban and rural population in our country;making relative policies and disease prevention measures. It also provides basic data for Outline of the Program for Food and Nutrition Development in China, Chinese Dietary Reference Intakes, and Chinese Dietary Guidelines, etc. This article makes a comparative analysis on samples, contents and methods of the 1959, 1982, 1992, 2002 National Nutrition Survey and the 2010-2013 National Nutrition and Health Surveillance, which provides support to related investigations and researches in future.

To systematically review the clinical outcomes and safety assessment in patients with gastrointestinal malignant tumor who received an nutrition support that added n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, the study Searched Databases of MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrance Central register of controlled trials, CNKI, CBM. The search words were Omega-3 fatty acids, fish oil, cancer, turmor, neoplasms. Incorporated all the high quality RCT trials. Used Rev Man 5.2 for statistical analysis. Results At last there were 11 studies were included, 585 patients were come from five different countries and in different RACES. Most clinical outcome analysis and safety evaluation indicators had small bias, the funnel figure was symmetrical, belonged to high credibility. Meta analysis results showed that the total hospitalization days, ALT, AST in the treatment group were lower than the control group, the difference was statistically significant. But there had no statistical differences in complications such as infection, BUN, Cr. Conclusions: Add n- 3 polyunsaturated fatty acids can improve the liver function and have a positive role on the clinical outcome.

To know the nutritional status among students in Guangyuan, to explore its major issues and influencing factors, so as to provide scientific basis for the the government on nutritional intervention of school students, a stratified cluster random sampling investigation was conducted among 1879 9-15 years old students from 7 primary schools and 8 high schools in Guangyuan. Daily diets of the students were surveyed and their weight, height and hemoglobin were measures to assess their nutritional status. The prevalence rates of undernutrition and underweight were respective 2.3% and 41.1% respectively. The prevalence rates of overweight and obesity were 5.4% and 8.5% respectively. Undernutrition and overnutrion exist simultaneously in the students investigated. Undernutrition is particularly prominent. There was a high anaemia rate among the students. The ratios of students who often drank milk, ate fish, ate bean products, ate animal innards 1-2 times a week were 60.2%, 35.3%, 23.9%, and 10.8% respectively. Nutritional status of students of Guangyuan isn’t satisfactory. Effective nutritional intervention on school students should be taken, such as improving the dietary pattern, strengthening the publicity of nutritional knowledge, developing the healthy dietary behavior.

The inhibitory effects of dietary diacylglycerol(DG) on lipid accumulation, appetite and the expression of several hypothalamic genes related to energy homeostasiswere were investigated in this paper. Male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly selected and given free access to diets of 5%(wt) triacylglycerol(TG, control group), 20%(wt) TG or 20%(wt) DG diets for 10 weeks.At the end of experiment,the rats were sacrificed, the ratio of lipids to body weight were calculated,and the blood glucose, serum lipids, blood insulin,blood leptin were measured.Reverse transcriptase–polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) was used for measuring the expression of neuropeptide Y(NPY), agouti-related peptide(Ag RP) and precursor pro-opiomelanocortin(POMC) m RNA in the hypothalamus. DG diets results in significant restraint of body weight gain, visceral fat, ratio of abdominal fat to body weight, increase and serum triglyderide, glucose, insulin and leptin levels comparing to High TG diets;Dietary diacylglycerol suppressed the energy intake increasing in rats compared with TG group. These were accompanied by the down-regulation of NPY and Ag RP m RNA levels, and up-regulation of POMC m RNA levels. These results suggest that diacylglycerol improved fat metabolism and reduced fats accumulation may be associated with improved appetite control and energy balance.

Our previous study selected a promising chemopreventive agent 3,6-dihydroxyflavone(3,6-DHF), and found 3,6-DHF significantly up-regulates mi R-34 a and down-regulates mi R-21 in breast carcinogenesis, yet the upstream and downstream events of the anticancer mechanism remain unclear. The present study showed that 3,6-DHF co-treatment effectively inhibits carcinogens-induced breast carcinogenic transformation in human breast epithelial MCF10 A cells. The data revealed the significant down-regulation of mi R-34 a and up-regulation of mi R-21 in breast carcinogenesis, which could be mitigated by 3,6-DHF treatment. Methylation-Specific PCR detections showed that 3,6-DHF inhibits the hypermethylation of the mi R-34 a promoter. Further studies indicated that 3,6-DHF is an effective methyltransferase(DNMT)1 inhibitor, docking to the putative cytosine pocket of the protein, and thus decreases the DNMT activity in a dose-dependent manner. Moreover, the Ch IP-q PCR analysis for histone modifications showed that 3,6-DHF treatment significantly lowers the H3K9-14 ac on the mi R-21 promoter. It was concluded that 3,6-DHF up-regulates mi R-34 a via inhibiting DNMT1 and hypermethylation, while down-regulates mi R-21 by modulating histone modification in breast carcinogenesis.

To investigate the effects of RNA interference to selenoprotein V(SELV) gene on cytobiological behaviors in human malignant melanoma A375 cells. the recombinant lentivirus vector containing SELV-sh RNA was constructed and transfected into A375 cells. The cells constantly expressing the sh RNA was selected after incubation with puromycin. The expressions of SELV m RNA and protein were detected by quantitative real-time reverse transcription PCR(q RT-PCR) and Western blottingrespectively. The proliferation of transfected A375 cells was assayed by MTT test. Cell cycle and apoptotic rate were analyzed by flow cytometry. The expressions of ankyrin repeat and SOCS box containing 9(ASB9) and O-acetylglucosamine transferase(OGT), two SELV functionally related factors, were determined by q RT-PCR and ELISA, respectively. Compared with the control, significantly decreased expressions of SELV m RNA and protein(P<0.05) were found in transfected A375 cells, while the apoptotic rate was increased significantly(P<0.05). However, there was no significant difference in cell cycle and proliferation between the two groups. After the SELV gene was suppressed, the m RNA and protein expressions of ASB9 and OGT were increased significantly(P<0.05). In A375 cells, down-expression of SELV gene led to increased apoptotic rate, which was accompanied by elevated expression of ASB9 and OGT genes.

In order to further study the biological activity of LBP3(A sub-fractions of Lycium barbarum polysaccharide), Fluorescence labeling of LBP3 and their stability in biological samples were studied. LBP3 was labeled by fluorescein of FITC with carbon acylation reaction to obtain FITC-LBP3. The labeling efficiency was evaluated by HPGPC method and the labeling rate of FITC in FITC-LBP3 molecular was calculated as 1.3% according to the calibration curve based on the FITC standards;FT-IR analysis indicated that FITC had successfully connected to LBP3 molecules;The stability of FITC-LBP3 in vitro and in vivo was investigated using HPGPC and fluorescence spectrophotometry method with fluorescent labeled FITC-LBP3, after 24 h incubation in phosphate buffer, rat blank plasma and urine at 37℃, the molecular weight and the width of molecular weight distribution were not changed, that showed FITC-LBP3 was stable in vitro. After oral administration of FITC-LBP3 to rats, FITC-LBP3 was in its original form in rat plasma and rat feces, meanwhile after an intravenous administration of FITC-LBP3 to rats, FITC-LBP3 was also excreted in its original form in rat urine, that demonstrated FITC-LBP3 metabolized in its original form.

To observe the dietary glycemic load(GL) in patients with newly-diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM), and discuss the relationship between dietary GL and blood glucose and lipid, 201 patients with newly-diagnosed T2 DM and 126 people with normal blood glucose above 40 years old in communities of Guangzhou were enrolled. Carbohydrate(CHO) intake and GL were assessed based on 3-d dietary records. With GL as the dependent variable, correlation analysis and multiple regression were used to analyze the relationship between dietary GL and concentrations of blood glucose and lipid. The results showed that dietary GL in patients with newly-diagnosed T2 DM was significantly higher than control group((169.61±44.83) vs(157.50±38.47), P<0.05). Correlation analysis showed that dietary GL was positively correlated with BMI and Hb A1 c in patients with T2DM(r=0.187, P<0.01 and r=0.154, P<0.05, respectively), while negatively correlated with HDL-C in both control group and diabetes group(r=-0.197, P<0.05 and r=-0.207, P<0.01, respectively). Adjusted for age and sex by multiple regression, the result was the same. It is concluded that high-GL diet may be associated with the occurrence of T2 DM, and is closely related to glucose control and blood lipid metabolism. It is necessary for both patients with diabetes and healthy people to control dietary GL.

Conflict results were reported about the association between multiple single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) and low plasma high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C) level in different populations. We conducted this study to find these potential associations in Chinese. Method: Twelve candidate SNPs in HDL-C metabolic genes were genotyped by PCR-RFLP method in 3809 Shenzhen citizens from a cross-sectional study. Plasma HDL-associated lipoproteins, enzymes and lipid parameters of each subject were also tested. Results:The genotype AA in rs708272 of cholesteryl ester transfer protein(CETP) intron was associated with low HDL-C level in Chinese(ORadj=0.78 for AA vs. GG, P12, compared with contrary subjects).Conclusion:Homozygous mutant of rs708272 was associated with low HDL-C level in Chinese. Gene-environmental interaction was found between rs708272, sex, smoking and alcohol consumption, and associated with low HDL-C level.
