摘 要:Cu(In,Ga)Se (CIGS) thin film solar cells and submodules using stainless steel substrates were fabricated. Sub millimeter thick insulating layers formed on the stainless steel substrates sufficiently isolate between Mo films and substrates but had not flexibility. The submodules with a structure of ITO/ ZnO/ CdS/ CIGS/ Mo/ insulator/ stainless steel were fabricated by using sputtering, coevaporation, chemical bath, and patterning of laser and mechanical scribing. The average conversion efficiency of the cells on the 5cm×10cm substrate was reached to be 15.0% and the best efficiency was 15.8%. The submodule with an apperture area of 54cm showed an efficiency of 11.5% without an antireflective coating. A decrease of the submodule efficiency is mainly attributed to the loss of the transmittance of the ITO film. Further optimization of the ITO film and submodule design is indispensable to achieve high efficiency of the submodule.
