摘      要:The kinetics and the influence of time on the solid metal manganese nitriding were studied by means of vacuum resistance furnace, X ray diffraction technique and LECO TC-436 Oxygen/Nitrogen Determinator. The longer the nitriding time, the more amount the nitrogen pick-ups. Except for trace of oxide MnO developed, the metal manganese can thoroughly be nitrided into MnN and a little-phase (the stoichiometric components as MnN) with the nitriding time lasted. A kinetic model is developed to reveal the nitriding situation and agrees well with the experimental results.
