The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19), which is caused by SARS-CoV-2, has become a worldwide public health crisis. Published clinical data from China and other countries have shown a much higher risk of developing COVID-19 and dying from the disease among the elderly, especially among those who had preexisting hypertension, cardiovascular diseases(CVD) and diabetes mellitus[1].

Syncope belongs to the transient loss of consciousness(TLOC), characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous complete recovery. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department *** syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. Based on the globally recent development and the evidence-based data in China, 2018 chinese Pediatric cardiology society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was jointly prepared by the Pediatric cardiology society, chinese Pediatric society, chinese Medical Association(CMA)/Committee on Pediatric Syncope, Pediatricians Branch, chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Committee on Pediatric cardiology, chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians, chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Pediatric cardiology society, Beijing Pediatric society, Beijing Medical Association(BMA). The present guideline includes the underlying diseases of syncope in children and adolescents, the diagnostic procedures, methodology and clinical significance of standing test and headup tilt test, the clinical diagnosis vasovagal syncope, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, orthostatic hypotension and orthostatic hypertension, and the treatment of syncope as well as follow-up.

The current single-atom catalysts(SACs)for medicine still suffer from the limited active site ***,we develop a synthetic method capable of increasing both the metal loading and mass-specific activity of SACs by exchanging zinc with *** constructed iron SACs(h^(3)-FNC)with a high metal loading of 6.27 wt%and an optimized adjacent Fe distance of~4 A exhibit excellent oxidase-like catalytic performance without significant activity decay after being stored for six months and promising antibacterial ***,a“density effect”has been found at a high-enough metal doping amount,at which individual active sites become close enough to interact with each other and alter the electronic structure,resulting in significantly boosted intrinsic activity of single-atomic iron sites in h^(3)-FNCs by 2.3 times compared to low-and medium-loading ***,the overall catalytic activity of h^(3)-FNC is highly improved,with mass activity and metal mass-specific activity that are,respectively,66 and 315 times higher than those of commercial Pt/*** addition,h^(3)-FNCs demonstrate efficiently enhanced capability in catalyzing oxygen reduction into superoxide anion(O_(2)·^(−))and glutathione(GSH)*** in vitro and in vivo assays demonstrate the superior antibacterial efficacy of h^(3)-FNCs in promoting wound *** work presents an intriguing activity-enhancement effect in catalysts and exhibits impressive therapeutic efficacy in combating bacterial infections.

Background Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a common arrhythmia associated with increased cardiovascular morbidity and mortality This study was undertaken to analyze the epidemiological factors and evaluate the current status of treatment in patients with AF in China's Mainland Methods Retrospective analysis of hospital records were taken from patients with primary diagnosis of AF, discharged from January 1999 to December 2001 A total of 9297 cases (mean age 65 5 years) with AF were enrolled from 40 hospitals in major parts of China Results The percentage of hospital admissions with AF was gradually increased comparing to those of total cardiovascular admission during three years, with the average of 7 9% The cases distribution progressively rose with age The causes and associated conditions of AF: advanced age 58 1%, hypertension 40 3%, coronary heart disease 34 8%, heart failure 33 1%, rheumatic valvular disease 23 9%, idiopathic AF 7 4%, cardiomyopathy 5 4%, diabetes 4 1% The most common coexistence among these variables was advanced age with hypertension Permanent AF almost accounted for half of these cases (49 5%), paroxysmal and persistent AF were 33 7% and 16 7%, respectively Paroxysmal AF was mainly treated with rhythm control (56 4%) However, 82 8% of patients with chronic AF had therapeutic strategy of rate control In patients with persistent AF, the cardioversion had been attempted in cases more than 50%, with only 31 1% of these patients who could maintain stabilized sinus rhythm The prevalence of stroke in this group was 17 5% In nonvalvular AF patients the risk factors that significantly associated with stroke included advanced age, history of hypertension, coronary heart disease and type of AF Sixty four point five percent of these patients received antithrombotic therapy with dominated use of antiplatelet agents The long term prevention with anticoagulants only accounted for 6 6% In this investigation patients with antiplatelets as well as patients with a

Background No-reflow is associated with an adverse outcome and higher mortality in patients with ST-segment elevation acute myocardial infarction(STEMI) who undergo percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) and is considered a dynamic process characterized by multiple pathogenetic *** aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of a combination therapy for the prevention of no-reflow in patient with acute myocardial infarction(AMI) undergoing primary *** A total of 621 patients with STEMI who underwent emergency primary PCI were enrolled in this *** with high risk of no-reflow(no-flow score > 10,by using a no-flow risk prediction model,n = 216) were randomly divided into a controlled group(n = 108) and a combination therapy group(n = 108).Patients in the controlled group received conventional treatment,while patients in combination therapy group received high-dose(80 mg) atorvastatin pre-treatment,mtracoronary administration of adenosine(140 μg/min per kilogram) during PCI procedure,platelet membrane glycoproteinⅡb/Ⅲa receptor antagonist(tirofiban,10μg/kg bolus followed by 0.15 μg/kg per minute) and thrombus *** contrast echocardiography was performed to assess the myocardial perfusion 72 h after *** adverse cardiac events(MACE) were followed up for six *** Incidence of no-reflow in combination therapy group was 2.8%,which was similar to that in low risk group 2.7%and was significantly lower than that in control group(35.2%,P < 0.01).The myocardial perfusion(A ×β) values were higher in combination therapy group than that in control group 72 h after *** 6 months,there were six(6.3%) MACE events(one death,two non-fatal MIs and three revascularizations) in combination therapy group and 12(13.2%)(four deaths,three non-fatal MIs and five revascularizations,P < 0.05) in control *** Combination of thrombus aspiration,high-dose statin pre-treatment,intracoronary administration of a

Background New-generation drug-eluting stents (DES) was more effective in the treatment of in-stent restenosis (ISR) compared with the first-generation DES. Drug-eluting balloons (DEB) and new-generation DES had been available strategies in treatment of bare-metal stents/DES ISR (BMS/DES-ISR). Six new randomized trials have recently examined the angiographic outcomes and one-year clinical outcomes of DEB and new generation DES in BMS/DES-ISR. However, the optimal management for BMS/DES-ISR lesions remains controversial. Methods We searched the randomized clinical trials evaluating the angiographic outcomes and one-year clinical outcomes of DEB and new-generation DES in patients with BMS/DES-ISR. The primary endpoints were the angiographic outcomes, including the minimal luminal diameter (MLD), diameter stenosis %(DS%), late lumen loss (LLL), and binary restenosis (BR). Results A total of six randomized clinical trials with 1177 BMS/DES-ISR patients were included in our meta-analysis. For angiographic outcomes, there were significantly less MLD and more DS% with DEB compared to new-generation DES (MLD: MD =?0.18, 95% CI:?0.31– ?0.04, P < 0.001;DS%: MD = 5.68, 95% CI: 1.00–10.37, P < 0.001). Moreover, for one-year clinical outcomes, DEB was associated with a significant increase risk in target lesion revascularization (TLR)(RR = 2.93, 95% CI: 1.50–5.72, P = 0.002). However, DEB was associated with higher risks of major adverse cardiac event, target vessel revascularization, TLR, BR, and more DS% only in DES-ISR group. Conclusions DEB and new-generation DES have the similar clinical efficacy for the treatment of BMS-ISR. However, DES showed more MLD, less DS%, and a decreased risk of TLR for the treatment of DES-ISR.
