As one of the indispensable actuating components in micro-systems,the shafted microgear is in great production *** is a manufacturing process to produce microgears to meet the *** to the small geometrical size,there are uncertain process performance and product quality issues in this production *** this study,the shafted microgears were fabricated in two different scaling factors with four grain sizes using a progressively extrusion-blanking *** explore the unknown of the process,grain-based modeling was proposed and employed to simulate the entire forming *** results show that when the grains are large,the anisotropy of single grains has an obvious size effect on the forming behavior and process performance;and the produced geometries and surface quality are worsened;and the deformation load is *** deformation zones were identified in the microstructures with different hardness and distributions of stress and *** simulation by using the proposed model successfully predicted the formation of zones and revealed the inhomogeneous deformation in the forming *** undesirable geometries of microgears including material unfilling,burr and inclination were observed on the shaft and teeth of gear,and the inclination size is increased obviously with grain *** avoid the formation of inclination and material unfilling,the punch was redesigned,and a die insert was added to constraint the bottom surface of the gear *** new products had then the better forming quality.

Controlling fine particles in flue gas from lead-zinc smelting by plasma technology

With the aim of controlling the problem of fine particles in the flue gas of lead-zinc smelting,a low-temperature plasma-electrocoagulation and electric bag composite dedusting experimental platform was designed by combining electrocoagulation and electric bag composite dust removal technology based on the research of low-temperature plasma ***,the properties of fine particles in flue gas from lead-zinc smelting were analyzed,and the effects of input voltage,filter wind speed,dust concentration,and pulse-jet ash-cleaning cycle on the dust collection efficiency of the integrated device were ***,the energy efficiency of the integrated technology was analyzed,and the control mechanism of the fine particles was *** experimental results show that the integrated technology of low-temperature plasma-electrocoagulation and electric bag composite dust removal achieves a fine particle removal efficiency of more than 99.99%and the energy consumption per unit mass of the dust is only 0.008 k W·h/*** integrated technology has broad application prospects and farreaching practical significance for the lead-zinc smelting industry to achieve ultra-low emission targets for flue gas and achieve energy-saving and emission reduction effects.

Inspired by the concept of bionics,a tactile and airflow motion sensor based on flexible double-layer magnetic cilia is developed,showing extremely high sensitivity in both force and airflow *** upper layer of the magnetic cilia is a flexible material mixed with magnetic particles,while the lower layer is a pure flexible *** double-layer structure significantly improves magnetism while maintaining cilia *** addition,a metal tube pressing(MTP)method is proposed to overcome the difficulties in preparing large aspect ratio(over 30:1)cilia,offering simplicity and avoiding the use of large-scale MEMs *** developed sensor has a detection range between 0 and 60µN with a resolution of 2.1µN for micro *** also shows great detection ability for airflow velocity with a sensitivity of 1.43µT/(m/s).Experiments show that the sensor could be applied in surface roughness characterization and sleep apnea monitoring.

A prospective study of time to healing and hypertrophic scarring in paediatric burns:every day counts

Background: It is commonly accepted that burns taking longer than 3 weeks to heal have a much higher rate of hypertrophic scarring than those which heal more quickly. However, some of our patients develop hypertrophic scars despite healing within this 3-week period. Methods: We performed a prospective study of 383 paediatric burns treated non-operatively at a regional burns centre over a 2-year period from May 2011 to April 2013. scar assessment was performed by a senior burns therapist using the Vancouver scar scale. Results: Overall rates of hypertrophic scarring were 17.2%. Time to healing was the strongest predictor of developing hypertrophic scarring, and the earliest hypertrophic scar developed in a patient who was healed after 8 days. The risk of hypertrophic scarring was multiplied by 1.138 for every additional day taken for the burn wound to heal. There was a trend towards higher rates of hypertrophic scarring in non-white skin types but this did not reach statistical significance. Conclusions: The risk of hypertrophic scarring increases with every day and, therefore, every effort should be made to get the wound healed as quickly as possible, even within the traditional 3-week period usually allowed for healing. We believe that the traditional dogma of aiming for healing within 3 weeks is overly simplistic and should be abandoned: in paediatric burns, every day counts.

Role of periostin and its antagonist PNDA-3 in gastric cancer metastasis

The extracellular matrix component periostin is a secreted protein that functions as both a cell attachment protein and an autocrine or paracrine factor that signals through the cell adhesion molecule integrins αvβ3 and αvβ*** participates in normal physiological activities such as cardiac development,but is also involved in pathophysiological processes in vascular diseases,wound repair,bone formation,and tumor *** is of increasing interest in tumor biologybecause it is frequently overexpressed in a variety of epithelial carcinomas and is functionally involved in multiple steps of metastasis *** include the maintenance of stemness,niche formation,EMT,the survival of tumor cells,and angiogenesis,all of which are indispensable for gastric cancer *** has been reported to activate the PI-3K/AKT,Wnt,and FAK-mediated signaling pathways to promote ***,periostin represents a potentially promising candidate for the inhibition of *** this review article,we summarize recent advances in knowledge concerning periostin,its antagonist PNDA-3,and their influence on such key processes in cancer metastasis as maintenance of stemness,niche formation,epithelialto-mesenchymal transition,tumor cell survival,and *** particular,we focus our attention on the role of periostin in gastric cancer metastasis,speculate as to the usefulness of periostin as a therapeutic and diagnostic target for gastric cancer metastasis,and consider potential avenues for future research.

spurious Dianeutral Mixing in a Global Ocean Model Using spherical Centroidal Voronoi Tessellations

In order to quantitatively evaluate the spurious dianeutral mixing in a global ocean model MPAs-Ocean （Model for Prediction Across scales） using a spherical centroidal voronoi tessellations developed jointly by the National Center for Atmospheric Research and the Los Alamos National Laboratory in the United states, we choose z＊ vertical coordinate system in MPAs-Ocean, in which all physical mixing processes, such as convection adjustment and explicit diffusion parameter schemes, are omitted, using a linear equation of state. By calculating the Reference Potential Energy （RPE）, front revolution position, time rate of RPE change, probability density function distribution and dimensionless parameter 2＂, from the perspectives of resolution, viscosity, Horizontal Grid Reynolds Number （HGRN）, Rea, and momentum transmission scheme, using two ideal cases, overflow and baroclinic eddy channel, we qualitatively analyze the simulation results by comparison with the three non-isopycnal models in Ilicak et al. （2012）, i.e., MITocM, MOM, and ROMs. The results show that the spurious dianeutral mixing in the MPAs-Ocean increases over time. The spurious dianeutral transport is proportional to the HGRN directly and is reduced by increasing the lateral viscosity or using a finer resolution to control HGRN. When the HGRN is less than 10, spurious transport is reduced significantly. When using the proper viscosity closure, MPAs-Ocean performs better than MIT6c and MOM, closely to ROMs, in the 2D case without rotation, and much better than the above-mentioned three ocean models under the condition of 3D space with rotation due to the cell area difference between the hexa- gon cell and the quadrilateral cell with the same resolution. Both the Zalesak （1979） flux corrected transport scheme and Leith closure in MPAs-Ocean play an excellent role in reducing spurious dianeutral mixing. The performance of Leith scheme is preferable to the condition of three-dimensional baroclinic eddy.

Preparation and Evaluation of Norcantharidin-encapsulated Liposomes Modified with a Novel CD19 Monoclonal Antibody 2E8

In this study, norcanthridin （NCTD）-encapsulated liposomes were modified with a novel murine anti-human CD19 monoclonal antibody 2E8 （2E8-NCTD-liposomes） and the targeting efficiency and specific cytotoxicity of 2E8-NCTD-liposomes to CD19^＋ leukemia cells were evaluated. BALB/c mice were injected with 2E8 hybridoma cells to obtain 2E8 monoclonal antibody （mAb）. NCTD-liposomes were prepared by using film dispersion method. 2E8 mAbs were linked to NCTD-liposomes using post-incorporation technology. Flow cytometry showed that the targeting efficiency of purified 2E8 mAbs on CD19＋ Nalm-6 cells was 99.93%. The purified 2E8 mAbs were conjugated with NCTD-liposomes to prepare 2E8-NCTD-liposomes whose targeting efficiency on CD19^＋ Nalm-6 was also 95.82%. The average size of 2E8-NCTD-liposomes was 118.32 nm in diameter. HPLC showed that the encapsulation efficiency of NCTD was 46.51%. When the molar ratio of 2E8/Mal-PEG2000-DsPE reached 1：50, we obtained the liposomes with 9 2E8 molecules per liposome. The targeting efficiency of 2E8-NCTD-liposomes on CD19^＋ leukemia cells was significantly higher than that on CD19-1eukemia cells. similarly, the targeting efficiency of the immtmoliposomes was also higher than that of the NCTDAiposomes on CD 19^＋ leukemia cells. Those results were consistent with those observed by laser scanning confocal microscopy. 3-（4, 5-Dimethylthiazol-2-yl）-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide （MTT） assay demonstrated that 2E8-NCTD-liposomes specifically killed Nalm-6 cells in a dose- and time-dependent manner. The viability of Nalm-6 cells treated by 2E8-NCTD-liposomes was significantly lower than that of Molt-3 cells and it was also significantly lower than that of Nahn-6 cells treated with the same concentration of NCTD-liposomes or free NCTD. We are led to concluded that 2E8 antigen can serve as a specific targeting molecule of B lineage hematopoietic malignancies for liposome targeting, and 2E8-NCTD-liposomes can be used as a new and effective means for

Laparoscopic Repair of Esophageal Hiatal Hernia

This study was to appraise safety and feasibility of laparoscopic approach and investigate the clinical effects of laparoscopic tension-free repair of esophageal hiatal hernia using mesh. From August 2006 to July 2009, 24 patients with esophageal hiatal hernia underwent laparoscopic repair. Twenty-three patients received laparoscopic tension-free repair using mesh, at the same time, Toupet or Dor partial fundoplication was performed. One patient was converted to open surgery. The average operating time was 90 min （70-210 min） and the blood loss was between 10-110 mL. There was no death. The mean postoperative hospital stay was 5 days （3-30 days）. During a follow-up period of 12-20 months （mean 15 months）, there was no recurrence of the hernia, and no complication with use of *** present study suggested that laparoscopic approach was secure and minimally invasive operation for esophageal hiatal hernia and the use of mesh could reduce recurrence rate.
