Helicobacter pylori(***)is a gram-negative bacterium that infects approximately 4.4 billion individuals ***,its prevalence varies among different geographic areas,and is influenced by several *** infection can be acquired by means of oral-oral or fecal-oral transmission,and the pathogen possesses various mechanisms that improve its capacity of mobility,adherence and manipulation of the gastric microenvironment,making possible the colonization of an organ with a highly acidic *** addition,*** presents a large variety of virulence factors that improve its pathogenicity,of which we highlight cytotoxin associated antigen A,vacuolating cytotoxin,duodenal ulcer promoting gene A protein,outer inflammatory protein and gamma-glutamyl *** host immune system,mainly by means of a Th1-polarized response,also plays a crucial role in the infection *** most ***-positive individuals remain asymptomatic,the infection predisposes the development of various clinical conditions as peptic ulcers,gastric adenocarcinomas and mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue *** and non-invasive diagnostic methods,each of them with their related advantages and limitations,have been applied in *** ***,bacterial resistance to antimicrobial therapy is a major challenge in the treatment of this infection,and new therapy alternatives are being tested to improve *** *** but not least,the development of effective vaccines against *** infection have been the aim of several research studies.

Metabolic syndrome(MetS)might be defined as the simultaneous accumulation of s everal functional changes that frequently occur in adults over 60 years of age(Gomez et al.,2018).The diagnosis of MetS requires the presence of three or more factors such as high body mass,type-2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM),dyslipidemia,and arterial hypertension,which increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases as well as neurological complications,as stroke and dementia(Dyken and Lacoste,2018).Usually,these functional changes coincide and result in insensitivity for example hormones as leptin,adiponectin,and insulin(Dyken and Lacoste,2018).

Axonal growth inhibitors are released during traumatic injuries to the adult mammalian central nervous system, including after spinal cord injury. These molecules accumulate at the injury site and form a highly inhibitory environment for axonal regeneration. Among these inhibitory molecules, myelinassociated inhibitors, including neurite outgrowth inhibitor A, oligodendrocyte myelin glycoprotein, myelin-associated glycoprotein, chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans and repulsive guidance molecule A are of particular importance. Due to their inhibitory nature, they represent exciting molecular targets to study axonal inhibition and regeneration after central injuries. These molecules are mainly produced by neurons, oligodendrocytes, and astrocytes within the scar and in its immediate vicinity. They exert their effects by binding to specific receptors, localized in the membranes of neurons. Receptors for these inhibitory cues include Nogo receptor 1, leucine-rich repeat, and Ig domain containing 1 and p75 neurotrophin receptor/tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 19(that form a receptor complex that binds all myelin-associated inhibitors), and also paired immunoglobulin-like receptor B. Chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans and repulsive guidance molecule A bind to Nogo receptor 1, Nogo receptor 3, receptor protein tyrosine phosphatase σ and leucocyte common antigen related phosphatase, and neogenin, respectively. once activated, these receptors initiate downstream signaling pathways, the most common amongst them being the Rho A/RoCK signaling pathway. These signaling cascades result in actin depolymerization, neurite outgrowth inhibition, and failure to regenerate after spinal cord injury. Currently, there are no approved pharmacological treatments to overcome spinal cord injuries other than physical rehabilitation and management of the array of symptoms brought on by spinal cord injuries. Within the global monitoring plan(GMP)established by article 16 of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent organic Pollutants,perfluorooctane sulfonic acid(PFoS),perfluorooctanoic acid(PFoA),and perfluorohexane sulfonic acid(PFHxS)are recommended for analysis in core matrices to assess occurrence and changes geographically and with *** 101 samples consisting of 86 national pools and 15 pools from States in Brazil obtained between 2008 and 2019,PFHxS was detected in 17%of the national pools and none in *** and PFoS had a detection frequency of 100%and 92%,*** perfluoroalkane substances(PFAS)had either low detection frequencies and median values of zero(carboxylic acids C4-C11;except PFoA)or could not be quantified in any sample(sulfonic acids,C4-C10,and long-chain carboxylic acids,C_(12)-C_(14)).Correlation between PFoA and PFoS was moderately(r=0.58).Whereas median values were almost identical(18.9 pg/g *** PFoS;18.6 pg/g *** PFoA),PFoS showed larger ranges(oA(own that wealthier countries had higher PFoA concentrations than poorer *** difference in concentrations was found for samples collected in countries having or not having ratified the Stockholm Convention amendments to list PFoS or *** goal to achieve 50%decrease in concentrations within ten years was met by Antigua and Barbuda,Kenya,and Nigeria for PFoS and by Antigua and Barbuda for *** a few cases,increases were observed;one country for PFoS,four countries for PFoA.

The Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) infection is a determinant factor in gastric cancer(GC) development. However, the infection outcomes are variable and depend on both host and bacterial characteristics. Some host cytokines such as interleukin(IL)-1β, IL-1 Ra, IL-8, IL-10 and tumor necrosis factor-α play important roles in the host immune system response to the pathogen, in the development of gastric mucosal lesions and in cell malignant transformation. Therefore, these host factors are crucial in neoplastic processes. Certain polymorphisms in genes that encode these cytokines have been associated with an increased risk of GC. on the other hand, various virulence factors found in distinct H. pylori bacterial strains, including cytotoxinassociated antigen A, vacuolating cytotoxin, duodenal ulcer promoting gene A protein, outer inflammatory protein and blood group antigen binding adhesin, have been associated with the pathogenesis of different gastric diseases. The virulent factors mentioned above allow the successful infection by the bacterium and play crucial roles in gastric mucosa lesions, including malignant transformation. Moreover, the role of host polymorphisms and bacterial virulence factors in gastric carcinogenesis seems to vary among different countries and populations. The identification of host and bacterium factors that are associated with an increased risk of GC development may be useful in determining the prognosis of infection in patients, what could help in clinical decision-making and in providing of an optimized clinical approach.
