The Peregrine brea.her of order eleven (P11 brea.her) solution to the focusing one-dimensiona. nonlinea. Schrödinger equa.ion (NLS) is explicitly constructed here. Deforma.ions of the Peregrine brea.her of order 11 with 20 rea. pa.a.eters solutions to the NLS equa.ion a.e a.so given: when a.l pa.a.eters a.e equa. to 0 we recover the fa.ous P11 brea.her. We obta.n new fa.ilies of qua.i-ra.iona. solutions to the NLS equa.ion in terms of explicit quotients of polynomia.s of degree 132 in x a.d t by a.product of a. exponentia. depending on t. We study these solutions by giving pa.terns of their modulus in the (x; t) pla.e, in function of the different pa.a.eters.

Numerica. a.d experimenta. investiga.ions were conducted in a.tra.sonic centrifuga. compressor sta.e composed of a.ba.kswept splittered unshrouded impeller a.d a.va.ed diffuser. a.deta.led a.a.ysis of the flow in the inducer (i.e. the entry zone of the impeller between the ma.n bla.e lea.ing edge a.d the splitter bla.e lea.ing edge) is proposed from choke to surge. Stea.y a.d unstea.y simula.ions were performed using the code elsa. which uses a.multi-doma.n a.proa.h on structured meshes a.d solves the compressible Ra.S equa.ions, a.socia.ed with a.two-equa.ion turbulence model k-l in the rota.ing fra.e of reference. The 1MW LMFa.ECL test rig wa. used for ca.rying out the tests in the compressor sta.e. Unstea.y pressure mea.urements up to 150 kHz a.d La.er Doppler a.emometry mea.urements were performed in the inducer. a.good a.reement is obta.ned between the experimenta. a.d numerica. da.a.even if a. over dissipa.ion is noticed in the numerica. results. The cha.ge in flow pa.tern from choke to surge is ma.nly due to a.cha.ge in the tip lea.a.e flow tra.ectory which stra.ghtens, lea.ing to a.flow blocka.e of a. individua. pa.sa.e nea. shroud. a.spectra. a.a.ysis shows tha. only the bla.e pa.sing frequency a.d its ha.monics compose the va.ious spectra.obta.ned from choke to surge.

Pra.tice Guidelines （CPG） a.d Best Pra.tice Sta.ements （BPS） concerning va.icocele in the pedia.ric a.d a.olescent popula.ion. a. electronic sea.ch wa. performed with the MEDLINE, EMBa.E, Science Direct, a.d Scielo da.a.a.es, a. well a. guidelines＇ Web sites until September 2015. Four guidelines were included in the qua.ita.ive synthesis. In genera., the recommenda.ions provided by the CPG/BPS were consistent despite the existence of some ga.s a.ross the studies. The guidelines issued by the a.erica. Urologica. a.socia.ion （a.a. a.d a.erica. Society for Reproductive Medicine （a.RM） did not provide evidence-ba.ed levels for the recommenda.ions given. Most of the recommenda.ions given by the Europea. a.socia.ion of Urology （Ea.） a.d Europea. Society of Pedia.ric Urology （ESPU） were derived from nonra.domized clinica. tria.s, retrospective studies, a.d expert opinion. a.ong a.l CPG/BPS, only one wa. specifica.ly designed for the pedia.ric popula.ion. The studied guidelines did not underta.e independent cost-effectiveness a.d risk-benefit a.a.ysis. The ma.n objectives of these guidelines were to tra.sla.e the best evidence into pra.tice a.d provide a.fra.ework of sta.da.dized ca.e while ma.nta.ning clinica. a.tonomy a.d physicia. judgment. However, the limita.ions identified in the CPG/BPS for the dia.nosis a.d ma.a.ement of va.icocele in children a.d a.olescents indica.e a.ple opportunities for resea.ch a.d future incorpora.ion of higher qua.ity sta.da.ds in pa.ient ca.e.

La.dsca.e cha.ge provides a.suita.le fra.ework for investiga.ing popula.ion-level responses to novel ecologica. pressures. However, rela.ively little a.tention ha. been pa.d to exa.ine the potentia. influence of la.dsca.e cha.ge on the geogra.hic sca.e of popula.ion differentia.ion. Here, we tested for morphologica. differentia.ion of red-necked nightja.s breeding in a.ma.a.ed property a.d a.na.ura. reserve situa.ed less tha. 10 km a.a.t. a. both sites, we a.so estima.ed site fidelity over 5 yea.s a.d qua.tified the potentia. fora.ing opportunities for nightja.s. Breeding birds in the ma.a.ed ha.ita. were significa.tly la.ger in size-a. indexed by keel length-tha. those in the na.ura. one. However, there were no significa.t differences in wing or ta.l length. Immigra.ion from neighboring a.ea. wa. a.most negligible a.d, furthermore, no individua. (out of 1130 ca.tures overa.l) excha.ged ha.ita.s between yea.s, indica.ing strong site fidelity. Food supply for nightja.s wa. equa.ly a.unda.t in both ha.ita.s, but the av.ila.ility of fora.ing sites wa. rema.ka.ly higher in the ma.a.ed property. a. a.result, nightja.s-pa.ticula.ly fledglings-in the la.ter ha.ita. benefited from increa.ed fora.ing opportunities in rela.ion to those in the na.ura. site. It seems likely tha. the fine-sca.e va.ia.ion in nightja. morphology reflects a.phenotypic response to unequa. loca. conditions, since non-ra.dom dispersa. or differentia. morta.ity ha. been determined not to be influentia.. High site fidelity a.pea.s to contribute to the ma.ntena.ce of body-size differences between the two ha.ita.s. Results from this nightja. popula.ion highlight the potentia. of huma.-induced la.dsca.e cha.ge to promote popula.ion-level responses a. exceedingly sma.l geogra.hic sca.es.

The sta.ic wetta.ility of leav.s a.d replica. wa. a.sessed by conta.t a.gle mea.urements, while the dyna.ic wetta.ility wa. cha.a.terized by estima.ing conta.t a.gle hysteresis a.d studying the dyna.ic behav.or of impa.ting wa.er droplets. a.smooth gla.s slip a.d its replica.were used a. control surfa.es. The replica.moulding method used wa. a.le to tra.sfer the cha.a.teristic pa.tern of irregula. 100 μm - 200 μm × 60 μm convex pa.illa. interspersed with stoma.a.of the origina. lea. to the epoxy replica.. Convergence properties of trust-region methods for unconstra.ned nonconvex optimiza.ion is considered in the ca.e where informa.ion on the objective function＇s loca. curva.ure is incomplete, in the sense tha. it ma. be restricted to a.fixed set of ＂test directions＂ a.d ma. not be av.ila.le a. every itera.ion. It is shown tha. convergence to loca. ＂wea.＂ minimizers ca. still be obta.ned under some a.ditiona. but a.gorithmica.ly rea.istic conditions. These theoretica. results a.e then a.plied to recursive multigrid trust-region methods, which suggests a.new cla.s of a.gorithms with gua.a.teed second-order convergence properties.
