Polygonatum sibiricum polysaccharides attenuated colitis via regulating gut microbiota mediated colonic NLRP3/ASC/Caspase-1/GSDMD signaling pathway

Polygonatum sibiricum has long been a popular functional food in Asia， known for its anti-inflammatory properties. However， its efficacy in alleviating colitis has yet to be investigated. This study aimed to explore the therapeutic potential of Polygonatum sibiricum polysaccharides (PSP) in dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced colitis， focusing on the related pyroptosis mechanisms. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis showed that PSP possesses a smooth surface with no pore structure and a dense， lamellar structure adorned with numerous spherical entities. PSP treatment significantly reduced colitis symptoms and decreased pro-inflammatory cytokines， likely through suppression of the TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathway. Additionally， PSP attenuated NLRP3/ASC/Caspase-1/GSDMD-mediated pyroptosis and mitochondria damage in the colon， while enhanced the expression of tight junction and adherens junction proteins. Microbiota sequencing showed that PSP increased the abundance of phylum Bacteroidota and genus such as Muribaculaceae， Lactobacillus， Clostridia， and Lachnospiraceae， while decreased the phylum Proteobacteria and the genus Enterobacter， Escherichia-Shigella， and Blautia. In conclusion， this study demonstrates that PSP exerts the potential therapeutic role against colitis， which was mediated by the regulation of gut microbiota and the inhibition of colonic NLRP3/ASC/Caspase-1/GSDMD signaling pathway.

Response of dryland crops to climate change and drought-resistant and water-suitable planting technology:A case of spring maize

Climate change has a significant impact on ***,the impact investigation is currently limited to the analysis of meteorological data,and there is a dearth of long-term monitoring of crop phenology and soil moisture associated with climate *** this study,temperature and precipitation(1957-2020)were recorded,crop growth(1981-2019)data were collected,and field experiments were conducted at central and eastern Gansu and southern Ningxia,*** mean temperature increased by 0.36°C,and precipitation decreased by 11.17 mm per *** average evapotranspiration(ET)of winter wheat in 39 years from 1981 to 2019 was 362.1 mm,demonstrating a 22.1-mm decrease every 10 ***,the ET of spring maize was 405.5 mm over 35 years(1985-2019),which did not show a downward *** 10 years,growth periods were shortened by 5.19 and 6.47 d,sowing dates were delayed by 3.56 and 1.68 d,and maturity dates advanced by 1.76 and 5.51 d,respectively,for wheat and maize.A film fully-mulched ridge-furrow(FMRF)system with a rain-harvesting efficiency of 65.7‒92.7%promotes deep rainwater infiltration into the *** leads to double the soil moisture in-furrow,increasing the water satisfaction rate by 110‒160%.A 15-year grain yield of maize increased by 19.87%with the FMRF compared with that of half-mulched flat *** yield and water use efficiency of maize increased by 20.6 and 17.4%when the density grew from 4.5×10^(4)to 6.75×10^(4)plants ha-1 and improved by 12.0 and 12.7%when the density increased from 6.75×10^(4)to 9.0×10^(4)plants ha-1,***,responses of maize yield to density and the corresponding density of the maximum yield varied highly in different rainfall *** density parameter suitable for water planting was 174 maize plants ha-1 with 10 mm ***,management strategies should focus on adjusting crop planting structure,FMRF water harvesting system,and water-suitable planting to mitigate the adverse effects

Constitutive equation and processing map of equiatomic NiTi shape memory alloy under hot plastic deformation

In order to describe the deformation behavior and the hot workability of equiatomic NiTi shape memory alloy (SMA) during hot deformation, Arrhenius-type constitutive equation and hot processing map of the alloy were developed by hot compression tests at temperatures ranging from 500 to 1100 °C and strain rates ranging from 0.0005 to 0.5 s?1. The results show that the instability region of the hot processing map increases with the increase of deformation extent. The instability occurs in the low and high temperature regions. The instability region presents the adiabatic shear bands at low temperatures, but it exhibits the abnormal growth of the grains at high temperatures. Consequently, it is necessary to avoid processing the equiatomic NiTi SMA in these regions. It is preferable to process the NiTi SMA at the temperatures ranging from 750 to 900 °C.

Effects of silver Nanoparticles on Soil Microbial Communities and Bacterial Nitrification in Suburban Vegetable Soils

silver nanoparticles （AgNPs） are widely used antimicrobial compounds; however, they may pose a threat to non-targeted bacteria in the environment. In this study high-throughput sequencing was used to investigate the effects of different concentrations of AgNPs （10, 50, and 100 mg kg-1） on soil microbial community structure during short-term （7 d） exposure. The amounts of Acidobacteria, Actinobacteria, Cyanobacteria, and Nitrospirae significantly decreased with increasing AgNP concentration; meanwhile, several other phyla （e.g., Proteobacteria and Planctomycetes） increased and dominated. Nitrosomonas europaea, a well-characterized ammonia- oxidizing bacterium, was used to study the sensitivity of bacteria to AgNPs and ionic silver （Ag＋）. Flow cytometry was used to monitor the toxicity of low （1 mg L-l）, middle （10 mg L-l）, and high concentrations （20 mg L-1） of AgNPs, as well as Ag＋（1 mg L-1） released into the medium from 20 mg L-1 concentration of AgNPs, towards N. europaea. After 12 h of exposure, the survival rate of N. europaea treated with 1 mg L-1 Ag＋ was significantly lower than those treated with low （1 mg L-1） and middle concentrations （10 mg L-1） of AgNPs, but the survival rate in the treatment with high concentration （20 mg L-1） of AgNPs was much lower. Additionally, necrosis rates were higher in the treatment with 20 mg L-1 AgNPs. Electron microscopy showed that Ag＋ caused serious damage to the cell wall of N. europaea, disintegrated the nucleoids, and condensed next to the cell membrane; however, dissolved Ag＋ is only one of the antibacterial mechanisms of AgNPs.

Sedimentary process research is of great significance for understanding the distribution and characteristics of *** the detailed observation and measurement of the Sangyuan outcrop in Luanping Basin,this paper studies the depositional process of the hyperpycnal flow deposits,and divides their depositional process into three phases,namely,acceleration,erosion and *** the acceleration phase,hyperpycnal flow begins to enter the basin nearby,and then speeds up *** developed in the acceleration phase are *** addition,the original deposits become unstable and are taken away by hyperpycnal flows under the eroding *** a result,there are a lot of mixture of red mud pebbles outside the basin and gray mud pebbles within the *** the erosion phase,the reverse deposits are eroded and become thinner or even ***,no reverse grading characteristic is found in the proximal major channel that is closer to the source,but it is still preserved in the middle branch channel that is far from the *** entering the deceleration phase,normally grading deposits appear and cover previous *** final deposits in the basin are *** are reverse,and others are *** are superimposed with each other under the action of hyperpycnal *** analysis of the Sangyuan outcrop demonstrates the sedimentary process and distribution of hyperpycnites,and reasonably explain the sedimentary characteristics of *** is helpful to the prediction of oil and gas exploration targets in gravity flow deposits.

Naphthalene exerts non-target effects on the abundance of active fungi by stimulating basidiomycete abundance

As an arthropod biocide,naphthalene has been used in studies of the ecological functions of soil fauna for ***,its potential non-target effects on soil microorganisms may affect soil mineralization and litter decomposition ***,we conducted an experiment with naphthalene adding to soil surface at a rate of 100 g·m-2 per month to examine the potential non-target effects of this treatment on soil fungal phospholipid fatty acids(PLFAs),18 S rDNA gene copy numbers and community diversity in a subalpine forest of western sichuan,*** results showed that naphthalene addition significantly increased fungal PLFAs but did not significantly alter fungal gene copy numbers.A total of 16 phyla,62 genera and 147 Operational taxonomic units(OTUs)were identified through Illumina Mi Seq sequencing *** and Ascomycota were the most abundant phyla in both the control and naphthalene addition *** addition did not affect the diversity or structure of the soil fungal community,but the increase in some genera of Basidiomycota might contribute to the increase in fungal PLFAs in the naphthalene addition *** results suggest that naphthalene exerts non-target effects on the active fungal abundance by stimulating the abundance of specific taxa in subalpine forest *** non-target effects of naphthalene on the fungal community should be taken into consideration when it is used to exclude soil fauna.

Strength and Microstructure of Mortar Containing Glass Powder and/or Glass Aggregate

The compressive strength of mortar containing glass powder（GP） and/or glass aggregate（GA） was tested, and its microstructure was also studied by thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis（TG-DTA）, scanning electron microscopy（SEM）, energy dispersive spectroscopic analysis（EDX）, and X-ray diffraction（XRD） techniques. The incorporation of GA would decrease the compressive strength of the mortar in the absence of GP. Incorporating both GA and GP could change the hydration environment, promote pozzolanic reaction of GP and improve the compressive strength. GP does not lead to but can effectively control ASR（Alkali silica Reaction）. GP and GA do not transform the type of hydrates, but have a great influence on the amounts of hydration products, and generate more calcium silicate hydrate（C-S-H gel） with lower Ca/si ratio. GP and GA with good gradation will make the microstructure denser.

The inadvertent dissolution of gangue minerals is frequently detrimental to the flotation of valuable *** investigated the effect of conditioning time on the separation of brucite and serpentine by *** analyzing the Mg2+concentration,relative element content,and pulp viscosity,we studied the effect of mineral dissolution on brucite *** results of artificially mixed mineral flotation tests(with-10μm serpentine)showed that by extending the conditioning time from 60 to 360 s,a large amount of Mg2+on the mineral surface gradually dissolved into the pulp,resulting in a decreased brucite recovery(from 83.83%to 76.79%)and an increased recovery of serpentine from 52.12%to 64.03%.To analyze the agglomeration behavior of brucite and serpentine,we used scanning electron microscopy,which clearly showed the different adhesion behaviors of different conditioning ***,the total interaction energy,as determined based on the extended DLVO(Derjaguin-Landau-Verwey-Overbeek)theory,also supports the conclusion that the gravitational force between brucite and serpentine increases significantly with increased conditioning time.

Groundwater contaminant source identification based on QS-ILUES

When groundwater pollution occurs,to come up with an efficient remediation plan,it is particularly important to collect information of contaminant source(location and source strength)and hydraulic conductivity field of the site accurately and ***,the information can not be obtained by direct observation,and can only be derived from limited measurement *** assimilation of observations such as head and concentration is often used to estimate parameters of contaminant *** for hydraulic conductivity field,especially for complex non-Gaussian field,it can be directly estimated by geostatistics method based on limited hard data,while the accuracy is often not *** estimation of hydraulic conductivity can be achieved by solving inverse groundwater ***,in this study,the multi-point geostatistics method Quick Sampling(QS)is proposed and introduced for the first time and combined with the iterative local updating ensemble smoother(ILUES)to develop a new data assimilation framework *** helps to solve the contaminant source parameters and non-Gaussian hydraulic conductivity field simultaneously by assimilating hydraulic head and pollutant concentration *** the pilot points are utilized to reduce the dimension of hydraulic conductivity field,the influence of pilot points’layout and the ensemble size of ILUES algorithm on the inverse simulation results are further explored.
