A phosphine-catalyzed [4+3] annulation between dinucleophilic indole derivatives and Morita−Baylis−Hillman (MBH) carbonates was discovered by using the N1 and N4′/C4′ nucleophilicities of the indole precursors,in which indoles act as four atom synthons. This protocol provides an efficient and facile access to indole-1,2-fused 1,4-diazepinones and azepines in good to high yields in one step,which illustrates potential synthetic utilities in drug discovery.

Dehydroabietyl polyethylene glycol glycidyl ether-grafted hydroxyethyl cellulose(HEC)polymer surfactant(DA(EO)5GE-g-HEC)was prepared using ring-opening polymerization with biobased rosin and hydroxyethyl cellulose as feedstocks.Dehydroabietyl polyethylene glycol glycidyl ether(DA(EO)5GE)was formed by condensation of dehydroabietyl alcohol polyoxyethylene ether(Rosin derivative:DA(EO)5H)and epichlorohydrin.The grafting degree of DA(EO)5GE-g-HEC was manipulated by adjusting the mass ratio of HEC and DA(EO)5GE and confirmed by EA.According to the formula,when m(HEC)/m(DA(EO)2GE)was 1:1~1:5,the grafting rate of DA(EO)5GE in DA(EO)5GE-g-HEC varied from 34.43%to 38.33%.The surface activity and foam properties of DA(EO)5GE-g-HEC aqueous solution were studied.The results showed that with the increase in grafting rate,the critical micellar concentration(CMC)in aqueous solution changed from 1.28 to 0.96 g/L.The results of the thermogravimetric analysis showed that the temperature range of the main stage of mass loss of DA(EO)5GE-g-HEC was 310°C~410°C,and the thermal decomposition processes of the samples with five mass ratios were similar.An oil in water emulsion was prepared by choosing cyclohexane as the oil phase and DA(EO)5GE-g-HEC as the emulsifier.The effect of DA(EO)5GE-g-HEC mass fraction on emulsion particle size and stability was analyzed.The results suggested that when the oil-water ratio was 8:2 with 0.4%emulsifier,the emulsion droplets were the smallest in terms of particle size and were the most stable.The rheological test results showed that the apparent viscosity decreased with the increase in shear rate and showed a typical elastic gel phenomenon.

Roles of nanoparticles in arsenic mobility and microbial community composition in arsenic-enriched soils

Environmental effects of nano remediation engineering of arsenic(As)pollution need to be considered.In this study,the roles of Fe_(2)O_(3)and TiO_(2)nanoparticles(NPs)on the microbial mediated As mobilization from As contaminated soil were investigated.The addition of Fe_(2)O_(3)and TiO_(2)NPs restrained As(V)release,and stimulated As(Ⅲ)release.As(V)concentration decreased by 94% and 93% after Fe_(2)O_(3)addition,and decreased by 89% and 45% after Ti O_(2)addition compared to the Biotic and Biotic+Acetate(amended with sodium acetate)controls,respectively.The maximum values of As(Ⅲ)were 20.5 and 27.1μg/L at 48 d after Fe_(2)O_(3)and TiO_(2)NPs addition,respectively,and were higher than that in Biotic+Acetate control(12.9μg/L).The released As co-precipitated with Fe in soils in the presence of Fe_(2)O_(3)NPs,but adsorbed on TiO_(2)NPs in the presence of TiO_(2)NPs.Moreover,the addition of NPs amended with sodium acetate as the electron donor clearly promoted As(V)reduction induced by microbes.The NPs addition changed the relative abundance of soil bacterial community,while Proteobacteria(42.8%-70.4%),Planctomycetes(2.6%-14.3%),and Firmicutes(3.5%-25.4%)were the dominant microorganisms in soils.Several potential As/Fe reducing bacteria were related to Pseudomonas,Geobacter,Desulfuromonas,and Thiobacillus.The addition of Fe_(2)O_(3)and TiO_(2)NPs induced to the decrease of arr A gene.The results indicated that the addition of NPs had a negative impact on soil microbial population in a long term.The findings offer a relatively comprehensive assessment of Fe_(2)O_(3)and TiO_(2)NPs effects on As mobilization and soil bacterial communities.

Pose-invariant facial expression recognition(FER)is an active but challenging research topic in computer vision.Especially with the involvement of diverse observation angles,FER makes the training parameter models inconsistent from one view to another.This study develops a deep global multiple-scale and local patches attention(GMS-LPA)dual-branch network for pose-invariant FER to weaken the influence of pose variation and selfocclusion on recognition accuracy.In this research,the designed GMS-LPA network contains four main parts,i.e.,the feature extraction module,the global multiple-scale(GMS)module,the local patches attention(LPA)module,and the model-level fusion model.The feature extraction module is designed to extract and normalize texture information to the same size.The GMS model can extract deep global features with different receptive fields,releasing the sensitivity of deeper convolution layers to pose-variant and self-occlusion.The LPA module is built to force the network to focus on local salient features,which can lower the effect of pose variation and self-occlusion on recognition results.Subsequently,the extracted features are fused with a model-level strategy to improve recognition accuracy.Extensive experimentswere conducted on four public databases,and the recognition results demonstrated the feasibility and validity of the proposed methods.

Nanosecond pulsed discharges at atmospheric pressure in a pin-to-pin electrode configuration are well reproducible in time and space, which is beneficial to the fundamentals and applications of low-temperature plasmas. In this experiment, the discharges in helium(He) and He with 2.3%water vapor(H_(2)O) are driven by a series of 10 ns overvoltage pulses(~13 k V). Special attention is paid to the spectral characteristics obtained in the center of discharges by time-resolved optical emission spectroscopy. It is found that in helium, the emission of atomic and molecular helium during the afterglow is more intense than that in the active discharge, while in the He^(+)2.3%H_(2)O mixture, helium emission is only observed during the discharge pulse and the molecular helium emission disappears. In addition, the emissions of OH(A-X) and Hα present similar behavior that increases sharply during the falling edge of the voltage pulse as the electrons cool down rapidly. The gas temperature is set to remain low at 540 K by fitting the OH(A-X) band. A comparative study on the emission of radiative species(He, He_(2), OH and H)is performed between these two discharge cases to derive their main production mechanisms. In both cases, the dominant primary ion is He^(+) at the onset of discharges, but their He^(+) charge transfer processes are quite different. Based on these experimental data and a qualitative discussion on the discharge kinetics, with regard to the present discharge conditions, it is shown that the electron-assisted three-body recombination processes appear to be the significant sources of radiative OH and H species in high-density plasmas.

Pozzolanic Activity of Burned Coal Gangue and Its Effects on Structure of Cement Mortar

The pozzolanic activity of coal gangue burned at different burning temperatures was investigated. The burned coal gangue was mixed with portland cement in different proportions （ 20% - 60% ）. The pozzolanic activity of coal gangue burned and the hydration products were examined, the compressive strengths of the pastes of the mixtures were tested, and the mechanism of the reaction was discussed. The experimental results slum, that the coal gangue burned at 750 ℃ has the optimum pozzolanic activity, and the burned coal ganguc with SiO2 and Al2 O3 is in an active form. When the coal gangue burned at 750℃ is mixed into portland cement, the content of calcium hydroxide in paste is significantly reduced, while the contents of hydrated calcium silk.ate and hydrated calcium aluminate are increased accordingly, hence resulting in the improvement of the microstructure of mortar. The compressive strength of cement paste decreases with increasing the content of burncd coal gangue. The decease in strength is small in the range of 20% - 30% coal gangue substitution and significant in 30%- 60% substitution.

This study investigates the influence of high-current pulsed electron beam（HCPEB） modification on the microstructure and shear strength of Cu/CuW joints.Reliable solid-state diffusion bonding of modified-Cu（MCu） and modified-CuW（M-CuW） was achieved by HCPEB modification pretreatment at a temperature of 800-900 ℃ and a pressure of 5 MPa for 10-50 min.Experiments demonstrate that HCPEB modification facilitates the dissolution of W and Cu,resulting in the formation of a Cu0.4W0.6solid solution and thus enhancing the uniform distribution of microstructures.Additionally,HCPEB-induced defects play a beneficial role in promoting the diffusion process by providing fast diffusion paths for elements.The optimal joints with the maximum shear strength of 213.7 MPa were obtained through bonding M-Cu and M-CuW at 900℃ and 5 MPa for 30 min,which attributes to the combined effects of fine-grained strengthening and solid solution strengthening.Overall,the application of HCPEB modification showcases its effectiveness in promoting element diffusion and enhancing the mechanical performance of the joints.

Flexible self-cleaning surface-enhanced Raman scattering(SERS)sensors are highly desirable for the detection of various environmental pollutants,including volatile organic compounds(VOCs).However,achieving sensitive detection without labeling and ensuring efficient cyclic use remain significant challenges.Herein,we introduce a direct approach to create a versatile Ni_(3)S_(2)/MoS_(2)@Ag@PDMS(PDMS=polydimethylsiloxane)composite SERS substrate using chemical vapor deposition technology.The produced substrate shows outstanding performance,offering extremely low detection sensitivity(1.0×10^(−12)M 4-aminobenzenethiol)and high enhancement factors(approximately 107).The interactions between the rod-shaped Ni_(3)S_(2)/MoS_(2)@Ag heterostructure and the molecules facilitate the transfer of charge,resulting in an increased electric field enhancement of the exciton resonance.This has the dual benefit of providing a self-cleaning effect and enhancing SERS efficiency.Importantly,the substrate enables sensitive detection of VOCs gas molecules without the need for labels,achieving a minimum detectable concentration as low as 1 ppm for o-dichlorobenzene,due to the preconcentration effect of PDMS.Theoretical calculations further explain the combined effect of electromagnetic and chemical enhancement in this composite substrate.By utilizing the developed visual SERS barcode,quick multiple detection and analysis of mixtures can be accomplished.This flexible and versatile SERS technique has significant potential for on-site detection and analysis of environmental pollutants,opening the doors for the development of a wearable in-situ SERS sensing platform.

Mesoporous materials with the highest surface area were synthesized by hydrothermal treatment from coal-measure kaolin using cetyltrimethylammonium bromide（CTAB）as template.The effect of several factors on surface area of products also had been discussed.The products were characterized by FT- IR,HRTEM and N 2 adsorption and desorption isotherm plot methods.There was typical structure as Si-O,Si- OH and Si-O-Si of mesoporous materials in the framework of synthesized materials;the pore size distributions of the products showed a sharp peak at 3.82 nm.The effect of hydrothermal treatment time and the amount of template on the specific surface area of mesoporous materials was important,when the Surf/Si=0.135,and hydrothermal time=12 h,and the surface area of the product reached up to 1 070 m2/g,which was higher than other products.

The growing demand for semiconductor devices simulation poses a big challenge for large-scale electronic structure calculations.Among various methods,the linearly scaling three-dimensional fragment(LS3DF)method exhibits excellent scalability in large-scale simulations.Based on algorithmic and system-level optimizations,we propose a highly scalable and highly efficient implementation of LS3DF on a domestic heterogeneous supercomputer equipped with acceler-ators.In terms of algorithmic optimizations,the original all-band conjugate gradient algorithm is refined to achieve faster convergence,and mixed precision computing is adopted to increase overall efficiency.In terms of system-level optimiza-tions,the original two-layer parallel structure is replaced by a coarse-grained parallel method.Optimization strategies such as multi-stream,kernel fusion,and redundant computation removal are proposed to increase further utilization of the com-putational power provided by the heterogeneous machines.As a result,our optimized LS3DF can scale to a 10-million sili-con atoms system,attaining a peak performance of 34.8 PFLOPS(21.2% of the peak).All the improvements can be adapt-ed to the next-generation supercomputers for larger simulations.
