Nanostructured lubricant additives for titanium alloy:Lubrication by the solid-liquid interface with Coulomb repulsion

In this work,the advantage of Coulomb repulsion in the intermolecular forces experienced by molecules on the solid–liquid nanosized contact interface is taken,and the superior friction-reducing property of Cu_(3)(PO_(4))2·3H_(2)O(CuP)oil-based additives has been confirmed for titanium ***-dimensional(3D)CuP nanoflowers(CuP-Fs)with a strong capillary absorption effect are prepared to achieve the homogeneous mixing of solid CuP and lubricating *** by CuP-Fs additives for titanium alloy,friction coefficient(COF)can be reduced by 73.68%,and wear rate(WR)reduced by 99.69%.It is demonstrated that the extraordinary friction-reducing property is due to the repulsive solid–liquid interface with low viscous shear force originating from Coulomb repulsion between polar water molecules in CuP and non-polar oil ***,any steric hindrance or connection between this repulsive solid–liquid interface will trigger the adhesion and increase the viscous shear force,for example,dispersant,hydrogen bondings,and shaky adsorbed water ***,the lamellar thickness of CuP and the molecular size of lubricant both have a great influence on tribological *** the lubrication mechanism based on interface Coulomb repulsion is proposed that may help broaden the scope of the exploration in low-friction nanomaterial design and new lubricant systems.

Devising a desirable nano-heterostructured photoelectrode based on the charge transfer kinetics mechanism is a pivotal strategy for implementing efficient photoelectrocatalytic(PEC)technology,since the charge separation and utilization efficiency of a photoelectrode is critical to its PEC ***,we fabricate a F–Co_(3)O_(4)@Bi_(2)WO_(6) core–shell hetero-array photoanode by coupling Bi_(2)WO_(6) nanosheets with F–Co_(3)O_(4) nanowires using a simple solvothermal solution *** three-dimensional hierarchical heterostructure has a homogeneous chemical interface,helping it to promote an S-scheme-based carrier transport kinetics and maintain excellent cycling *** density difference calculations verify the electron migration trend from F–Co_(3)O_(4) to Bi_(2)WO_(6) upon hybridization and the formation of an internal electric field in the heterojunction,consistent with the S-scheme mechanism,which is identified by in situ irradiation X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and by ultraviolet photoelectron *** optimized F–Co_(3)O_(4)@Bi_(2)WO_(6)-2 photoelectrode achieves high carrier utilization efficiency and exhibits superior PEC degradation performance for various organic pollutants,including reactive brilliant blue KN-R,rhodamine B,sulfamethoxazole,and bisphenol *** work not only reveals that F–Co_(3)O_(4)@Bi_(2)WO_(6)-2 is effective for PEC water remediation but also provides a strategy to enhance carrier transport kinetics by designing binary oxides.

Rechargeable Zn-air batteries(ZAB)have drawn extensive attention due to their eco-friendliness and ***,the lack of high-performance and low-cost oxygen redox reactions(OER and ORR)catalysts has become one of the main stumbling blocks in their ***,we successfully fabricate a CoFe nanobubble encapsulated in nitrogen-doped carbon nanocage on wood carbon support(CoFe@NC/WC)via pyrolysis of a novel Prussian blue analog(PBA)/spruce *** hierarchical CoFe@NC/WC catalyst exhibits an excellent potential difference of 0.74 V between the OER potential at 10 mA cm^(-2)and half-wave potential of ORR in 0.1 M KOH,comparable to recently reported preeminent ***,CoFe@NC/WC shows outstanding electrochemical performance in liquid ZAB,with a peak power density of 138.9 mW cm^(-2)and a specific capacity of 763.5 mAh g^(-1).More importantly,a bacterial cellulose nanofiber reinforced polyacrylic acid(BC-PAA)hydrogel electrolyte shows ultrahigh tensile-breaking stress of 1.58 *** conjunction with the as-prepared CoFe@NC/WC catalyst,BC-PAA-based wearable ZAB displays impressive rechargeability and foldability,and can power portable electronics,such as electronic timer and mobile phone,in bent *** work provides a new approach toward high-activity and low-cost catalysts for ZAB.

Prevalence and Risk Factors of Urinary Incontinence among Perimenopausal Women in Wuhan

This study investigated the prevalence and risk factors of urinary incontinence（UI） among perimenopausal women in Wuhan. A cross-sectional survey was performed on 1067 women aged 40–65 years sampled in Wuhan urban area from April to October 2014. Information about demographic characteristics, menstruation, parity and UI symptoms was collected using a questionnaire. The data were evaluated by Chi-square test and multiple Logistic regression analysis. The prevalence rate of UI was 37.2%, with stress UI（32.2%） being more prevalent than urgency UI（21.6%） and mixed UI（16.6%）. 31.2% women with UI stated that UI had negative impact on their life. Risk factors for UI included menstrual disorder, menopause, overweight, perineal laceration, atrophic vaginitis, constipation and pelvic organ prolapse. Appropriate investigation apropos the factors associated with UI should be performed to diminish its impact on women＇s life.

The effect of pulse frequency on the electrochemical properties of micro arc oxidation coatings formed on magnesium alloy

Micro arc oxidation(MAO)coatings were formed on magnesium alloy AZ31B to improve the corrosion resistance using environmental friendly electrolyte solution under single-polar pulse power *** effect of electrical parameters of pulse frequency on the coating performance was studied at frequencies of 2.5 Hz,25 Hz and 250 *** coating performance at different frequencies was characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS)and potentiodynamic polarization testing *** was found that the corrosion resistance of the MAO coatings was improved when increasing the pulse frequencies from 2.5 Hz to 250 *** corrosion current in 250 Hz case decreased by three orders of magnitude as compared with bare Mg alloy and the corrosion impedance also increased remarkably,means significantly enhanced corrosion resistance than bare Mg *** results give us more insight in the optimization of electrical parameters to improve the MAO coating *** MAO technology is attractive for application on magnesium and other light alloys for surface protection in automotive and space industries.

The prevalence of,and related factors to,stress urinary incontinence (SUI) among perimenopausal Chinese women and its impact on daily life among those women with sexual desire problem in Hubei province were *** this study,1519 perimenopausal women aged 40 to 65 years were selected from three urban communities in the Wuhan area,and two impoverished,mountainous communities in Hubei province,and followed from April to October *** information about demographic characteristics,menstruation,pregnancy,sexual life and chronic diseases was collected.A cross-sectional survey was carried out following information collection by Chi-square test and multiple logistic regression *** and multivariate logistic regression analysis demonstrated that the potential factors associated with developing SUI were old age (OR=3.4,95% CI:1.92-6.04),vaginal delivery (OR=0.623,95% CI:0.45-0.87),low income (OR=0.063,95% CI:0.40-0.92),atrophic vaginitis (OR=1.4,95% CI:1.03-1.80),pelvic organ prolapse (OR=2.81,95% CI:1.36-5.80),chronic pelvic pain (OR=2.17,95% CI:1.90-4.03),constipation (OR=1.44,95% CI:1.07-1.93) and incontinence of feces (OR=3.32,95% CI:2.03-5.43).Moreover,the ratio of SUI (33.2%) was higher than the ratio of urgency urinary incontinence (24.1 %) or the ratio of mixed urinary incontinence (17.4%),and SUI had a greater impact on daily life among women with decreased sexual *** conclusion,SUI is a common disorder affecting over one third of the women surveyed,and has a severe impact on the daily life of perimenopausal women with declined sexual ***,mode of delivery,and monthly income are major risk factors involved in the development of SUI.

Numerical Study on the Thermal Stress and its Formation Mechanism of a Thermoelectric Device

The strong thermo-mechanical stress is one of the most critical failure mechanisms that affect the durability of thermoelectric devices. In this study, numerical simulations on the formation mechanism of the maximum thermal stress inside the thermoelectric device have been performed by using finite element method. The influences of the material properties and the thermal radiation on the thermal stress have been examined. The results indicate that the maximum thermal stress was located at the contact position between the two materials and occurred due to differential thermal expansions and displacement constraints of the materials. The difference in the calculated thermal stress value between the constant and the variable material properties was between 3% and 4%. At a heat flux of 1 W·cm^(-2) and an emissivity of 0.5, the influence of the radiation heat transfer on the thermal stress was only about 5%; however, when the heat flux was 20 W·cm^(-2) and the emissivity was 0.7, the influence of the radiation heat transfer was more than 30%.

Commercial application of lithium-sulfur(Li-S) batteries is hindered by the insulating nature of sulfur and the dissolution of polysulfides. Here, a bioinspired 3D urchin-like N-doped Murray's carbon nanostructure(N-MCN) with interconnected micro-meso-macroporous structure and a polydopamine protection shell has been designed as an effective sulfur host for high-performance Li-S batteries. The advanced 3D hierarchically porous framework with the characteristics of the generalized Murray's law largely improves electrolyte diffusion, facilitates electrons/ions transfer and provides strong chemisorption for active species, leading to the synergistic structural and chemical confinement of polysulfides. As a result,the obtained P@S/N-MCN electrode with high areal sulfur loading demonstrates high capacity at high current densities after long cycles. This work reveals that following the generalized Murray's law is feasible to design high-performance sulfur cathode materials for potentially practical Li-S battery applications.
